This research is motivated by the low understanding of students' mathematical concepts, especially on social arithmetic material. The purpose of this study was to describe the stages of the metaphorical thinking approach method and the magnitude of the increase in students' conceptual understanding of social arithmetic material. The data collection method used in this classroom action research (CAR) includes written tests and observations in each cycle. The research instruments used were lesson plans, worksheets, question sheets, and observation sheets for the implementation of learning in each cycle. The research subjects were students of class VII in one of the madrasah tsanawiyah in Lamongan as many as 23 students. Based on the results of data analysis, the classical student activity assessment increased 23.85% from 66.25% to 90.1%. Student test results also increased by 34.8%, namely from cycle I it reached 47.8% and cycle II reached 82.6%, with the results achieved can be declared complete, and it can be concluded that in online mathematics learning there is an increase in understanding concept in class VII madrasah tsanawiyah in Lamongan by using the application of Metaphorical Thinking.

The low ability to understand concepts is something that is still often found in mathematics learning, especially in secondary schools. One of the reasons is the lack of learning device  that encourage students to be active in learning. Therefore, it is necessary to develop contextual learning tools in an effort to improve students' the ability understand mathematical concepts (AUMC) students. The type of research is descriptive quantitative. The research instrument was in the form of a learning device validation sheet. The research subjects were learning device which included lesson plans, student activity sheets (SAS), and students' AUMC tests. The object of research is the level of validity of the learning device. The results showed that the lesson plan with an index V of 0.72 was categorized as valid. SAS with an index V of 0.78 is categorized as valid, The AUMC-1 test and the AUMC-2 test with an index of V 0.76 and 0.74 were included in the valid category. It can be concluded that the contextual approach in improving student AUMC from the aspects of format, language and content is valid.

<p>This study aims to describe a valid, practical and effective RME-based mathematics learning tool for increasing the ability to understand mathematical concepts of elementary school students. The research was conducted at SDN 41 Kinali, West Pasaman Regency. There were 27 grade students in grade IV as research subjects. This type of research is the development with the Plomp model. The validity level of the aspects of content, language, presentation by the validator is 90.09% with a very valid category. The practicality of the learning tools from the teacher's response was 97.3% and the response of students was 85.53% which means very practical. Then the average final test results of the students were 90.83. Thus it is known that the developed RME-based mathematics learning tool is suitable for use in grade IV SD.</p>

This research is a classroom action research with the aim of knowing the improvement of student mathematics learning outcomes throught the application of the TGT learning model with Ultaphygo teaching aids. This research includes planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. motivated by the low learning outcomes of students at SMK Mega Link Majene in mathematics. The research subjects were students of class X SMK Mega Link Majene. Data collection techniques used student activity observation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, and student learning outcomes tests at the end of each cycle. Each data collected at the end of the cycle was analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive statistics for student learning outcomes, while student activity and learning implementation used qualitative analysis. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes from pre cycle to first cycle. This can be seen in the average student learning outcomes in the pre-cycle test results of 78.34, then an increase in the first cycle with an  average student learning outcomes of 87.66 with a completeness percentage of 89.05% of 37 students. Likewise, student activity also experienced an increase from pre-cycle an average of 78% to an average of 93% in the first cycle with the very good category. Based on the description, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the learning achievement of students' mathematics learning activities through the application of the TGT learning model using Ultaphygo teaching aids.

The research goals was to be achieved in the development of these materials is to produce an integrated thematic teaching materials are valid, practical, and effective. This research is a type of development and uses ADDIE models which consists of five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. Test the validity of research data obtained through the sheet validity of teaching materials. Data obtained through the sheet practicality of the impementation of lesson plans, teacher response assessment and student response assessment. Effectiveness seen from the student activity, assessment process and assessment of results. Based on the validity of test data showed that the avarage percentage of the teaching materials validator is 89.26% with the category of very valid. The test results practicalities of the implementation of lesson pland obtained 91.43% with a very good category. Rating teacher responses obtained 93.05% and 89.58% student response. The effectiveness of teaching materials seen from the student activity, obtained an avarage percentage of 85.67% with a very active category. Of the daily assessment conducted seen tends to increase student learning outcomes. Based on these results, we can conclude an integrated thematic teaching materials at Elementary School Fifth Grade using Problem Base Learning developed can be considered valid, practical, and effective.

The Extraordinary School (SLB) 4 Jakarta is a school special for deafness students. The deafness students has a difference with a normal students, so there are special treatment for them especially in mathematics teaching. When we observe to school, we get some information about they services to students,  one of the information was that the mathematics teacher taught students using inquiry model. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the application of mathematics learning models in SLBN 4 Jakarta for class XI students with hearing impairment in terms of planning and implementing learning, student responses and test results during the learning process, as well as the learning tools or media used. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with research subjects namely one mathematics class teacher and five students of SLBN 4 Jakarta class XI in the 2018/2019 school year. The collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that (1) The preparation of mathematics learning planning in SLBN 4 Jakarta curriculum used was the 2013 curriculum (2) The implementation of mathematics learning in SLBN 4 Jakarta used the expository method and MMR (Reflective Maternal Method) (3) There were 2 results of learning activities, namely student responses and test results (4) mathematics learning tools or media used by teachers are still conventional.

This study aims to improve the understanding and active learning of students of opportunity material using cooperative learning models of the TAI (Teams Assisted Individualization). This research is a Classroom Action Research conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were students of class XII IPA 2 of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the academic year of 2018/2019. The results of the study concluded that the implementation of classroom action through the use of the TAI (Teams Assisted Individualization) type of cooperative learning model on the opportunity material can improve students' understanding and activeness in mathematics learning. This is based on test results and observations. From the test results in the first cycle, the percentage of students who completed was 62.96% and in the second cycle the percentage of students who completed experienced an increase of 33.33% to 96.29%. While the observations of the two observers, in the first cycle produced an average percentage of students' activeness reached 66.35% with a visual activity percentage of 83.2% and writing activity 61.22% and in the second cycle an increase in the average percentage of student activity by 20.92% to 87.27 % with the percentage of visual activity 85.88%, writing activities and activities 88.68%. These results it can be concluded that the application of the TAI (Teams Assisted Individualization) type of cooperative learning model can improve the understanding and activeness of learning in class XII Science 2 SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta odd semester 2018/2019

The study was conducted to examine the improving ability of the estimation rounding of the students through assisted card learning and number line to describe the application of assisted learning and the number lines that improve the students rounding estimation’s ability of VB class of 2 Taman Sari State Elementary School, West Lombok.This study used classroom action research. In this case, the researcher had a role as a conduit of action, a key instrument, a reporter of the research results, and an interviewer on the research subjects. The data of this study are in the form of the review of the student test answers and the interviews. The data was collected by researcher by using the student activity observation sheets, field notes, teacher observation sheets, guidelines for scoring test questions, and interviewing guides. The Result of the study shows thatthe application ofassisted card learningandthe number line which canimprove the ability of rounding estimationconsistsof5stages namely:(1) observingthe card and number line, (2) writing down the reasons of estimation in the card,(3) displaying card whichcontainsthe estimation resultan,(4) comparing the estimationrounding,(5) presenting thereasonswiththe card. The criteria of  success which was specified by the researcher had been achieved in the second cycle. More detail the percentage of the students who did not make the mistake of the concepts, the calculations, and the procedures was as follows: (1) the percentage of the students who did not make the mistake of the concept was 76%, (2) the percentage of the students who did not make the mistake of the procedures was 70%, and (3) the percentage of the students who did not make the mistake of the calculation was 94% and (4) the percentage of the students who had reached the KKM was 87%.

Mathematics should be studied systematically and regularly and it must be presented with a clear structure, therefore an appropriate learning approach is needed. One approach to learning in mathematics is metaphorical thinking. This approach can encourage students to think metaphors to understand a mathematical concept. This study aims to determine the effect of the metaphorical thinking approach on understanding mathematical concepts. This type of research is experimental. Research subjects class VIII-E and VIII-F in MTs Negeri 2 Lamongan. The research instrument used to measure understanding of mathematical concepts in the material Surface Area of Flat Side Space is in the form of description. The results showed that students' understanding of mathematical concepts using the metaphorical thinking approach (experimental class) was better than students who used the deductive learning approach (control class). Data analysis used two independent samples t-test which showed a sig value of 0.011 <α = 0.05, then reject Ho. Thus the learning of mathematics in the material Surface Area Build Flat Side Space by using the metaphorical thinking approach affects the understanding of students' mathematical concepts

Abstract: This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning achievement using auditory, intellectualy, and repetition (AIR) type of cooperative models in Class VII material fractions. This research is a research action class is done in 2 cycles. Each cycle is divided into four parts. They are planning, implementation, observations, and reflection. These research subjects are students of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Merauke totaling 32 students. Data collection techniques were used that test, observation and questionnaire responses of students. The research results showed that the average value of students increased at every cycle as well as the classical completeness of the cycle I namely 62,50% and cycle II 90,62% of those results show that an increase in classical from cycle I to cycle II. Student activity increase in cycle I gained 50,00% with a high category and cycle II retrieved 84,38% with category is very high, so it can be concluded that the application of the model of cooperative type auditory, intellectualy, and repetition can improve results of learning mathematics class VII students learn mathematics SMP Negeri 1 Merauke. The purpose of this research was to produce a student activity sheet based guided discovery me-thod to improve understanding of the mathematical concept of junior high school students, determine the effectiveness and increase the ability of understanding mathematical concepts that students use the worksheet-based method of guided discovery. The method used was the development of research de-velopment model 4-D, that was define, design, develop and disseminate. The research was conducted in SMP Islam Kepenuhan of Rokan Hulu Riau with research subjects grade VIIIA. Student activity sheet and research instruments validated to the experts, then conducted limited field trial, resulting in the final and disseminate is the use of student activity sheet that has been developed on a broader scale, to subject teachers school math test field try to use this device. The results of the implementation of the trials showed Student Activity Sheet effective to use, as shown by an increase in the ability of students' understanding of the concept, where students in classical completeness there are 30 students who reached the KKM ≥ 70 ie 83.33% of the proceeds from the pretest posttest whereas only 23 those students who completed ie 63.88%, further capabilities increase student understanding of the concept of before and after learning that the average pretest results and the ability of understanding the con-cept 69.84 average yield of 81.35 posttest understanding of the concept. Based on the analysis of data, it is advisable to use a math teacher to student activity sheet based methods guided discovery learning.
