Machine translation has developed rapidly. But there are some problems in machine translation, such as good reading, unable to reflect the mood and context, and even some language machines can not recognize. In order to improve the quality of translation, this paper uses the SSCI method to improve the quality of translation. It is found that the translation quality of hierarchical phrases is significantly improved after using the parallel algorithm of machine translation, which is about 9% higher than before, and the problem of context free grammar is also solved. The research also found that the use of parallel algorithm can effectively reduce the network memory occupation, the original 10 character content, after using the parallel algorithm, only need to occupy 8 characters, the optimization reaches 20%. This means that the parallel algorithm of hierarchical phrase machine translation based on distributed network memory can play a very important role in machine translation.

Many researches have shown the facts that the students’ skills in writing can be improved by having a good reading habit. It was convinced that the students reading habit has great impact on the improvement of students’ writing ability. The students who read extensively will acquire more vocabularies that lead them to have greater proficiency in writing. Therefore, this study was purposed to know whether reading habit of the eighth graders of SMPN 6 Kayuagung was significantly correlated to their writing skill. By means of Purposive sampling, 124 students of the whole number of the population were selected as the sample. A correlational study was applied. A questionnaire and  written test were distributed to get the data. Twenty items of a ready-made questionnaire were used to know students’ habit in reading and a writing test was administered to measure students’ writing skill. The writing test was reliable because its reliability coefficient was 0.942. In data analysis, Pearson  Product Moment Correlation coefficient on SPSS 20 was used. The findings revealed that r-obtained (0.685) was bigger than the value of r-table (0.176) at p-value which was less than 0.05. Thus, the formulated hypotheses were proved. In other words, there was a significant correlation between reading habit and writing skill of the eighth graders at SMPN 6 Kayuagung.

AbstractProficiency in reading comprehension does not only require readers’ appropriate performance in phonological, morphological, syntax, and semantic competencies but also pragmatic competence – the skill of deliberately connect linguistic materiality of the textual surface with knowledge of the world itself – revealing that the author-text-reader interaction materializes in the reader’s commitment to link the context of use and the ideas expressed in the text to his/her reading objectives. Hence, if pragmatics is a relevant aspect for good reading comprehension, it is asked herein how it has been addressed in academic studies intended to promote reading comprehension. This objective of this paper is to present the studies addressing reading comprehension from the pragmatic language perspective. Hence, studies addressing the topic were searched in the SciELO, PsycINFO, and ERIC databases. The results show a lack of papers addressing the pragmatics contributions associated with reading comprehension. This gap identified in the study reflects a lack of teaching interventions focusing on (meta)pragmatic skills, suggesting that some of the students’ difficulties may be related to this lack of interventions. Teaching this competence can improve the students’ reading performance, and competent reading promotes social inclusion and a citizenship. Therefore, schools must train these competencies for individuals to interact with texts, process ideas, make connections with different types of knowledge, and (re)construct meaning(s). Keywords: Reading Comprehension. Written Comprehension Texts. Pragmatic Skills. Reading Performance

Philosophy is the mother of all sciences. Philosophy, in this case, is more of a universal, comprehensive, and fundamental thought, while other sciences are more specific or special thoughts because they are limited to objects and their unique point of view. Philosophy and science can meet each other because both use the method of reflective thinking in an attempt to deal with the facts of the world and life. Both display a critical attitude, with an open mind and an impartial will, to know the nature of truth. Philosophy requires language as a means of communicating ideas and also as an object of study in philosophy. While language also really needs philosophy as a means or method to analyze systems to get solutions to solving linguistic problems. Reading learning is very important so that a text or statement of a philosopher can be more easily understood. Ignorance of text and context in discourse will lead to confusion in understanding science. If science can be understood well it will add insight and can be shared with others. People with good reading comprehension will bring benefits to others. So it can be concluded that there is a correlation between philosophy, science and reading learning.

In English learning, good reading ability is very important. In recent years, the scores of students' reading ability in the college entrance examination have also increased. However, in many cases, even though students can understand the vocabulary and syntax of the text, they still cannot correctly grasp the main point of the text. They are easily immersed in the details of the text and cannot grasp the key content. There is a certain relationship between English reading and schema theory. The more complete a student's schema, the more targeted and efficient the processing of text materials. Therefore, high school English teachers should make full use of schema theory to improve teaching strategies, and focus on the development of students' schemata, so as to enhance students' English reading ability and information processing ability.
