Abstract The number 4 boiler of a certain power plant happened the boiler fire extinction events. Because of main and auxiliary DPU switched failure, more piece of card took off the network and malfunctioned, both of PAF(Primary Air Fan) stop, which triggered MFT, that lead to the boiler fire-extinguishing. Aimed at the course of the boiler fire-extinguishing and the measure that had been adopted, this paper expounds in detail, analyzes the cause of the incident and other aspects of the problem that the incident exposed to, finally, in view of the existing problems and potential sa1fety hazard, this paper gives specific recommendations.

The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of fire in a nonventilated corridor. A real-scale model of a corridor has been modeled in Fire Dynamics Simulator(F.D.S.) in order to determine the evolution of indoor temperatures, the visibility and the oxygen quantities during a fire. The start time of a sprinkler has also been determined. The use of sprinklers in buildings has become a necessity and a requirement imposed by technical norms. The provision of this type of installation has become a common feature in buildings with a high fire risk, with two main effects: fire extinction and protection of structural and partition elements from high temperatures[15]. The ultimate goal is to ensure optimal conditions for saving the building users, intervention teams and maintaining the stability of the building. Low temperatures and good visibility on the escape routes during a fire are the basic conditions to ensure the optimal evacuation of users.

The paper is devoted to ensuring the fire safety of an important object for the majority of megacities as the underground. The author examines in detail the fire-hazardous production processes and talks about the use of high-pressure water spray (WS) for extinguishing fires at underground facilities as the most effective firefighting measures. The paper describes the advantages of using of high-pressure water spray for automatic fire extinguishing in terms of safety and cost-effectiveness.
