The sphere of knowledge covers complex gradations, whose evolution differs according to the approximation and relationships between disciplines. Transdisciplinarity results from the interdisciplinary process whose relationships are deep and cooperative. Considering this and the fact that Brazil does not have any master or doctoral degrees in Conservation and Restoration of Movable Cultural Heritage, this research aimed to identify the postgraduate programs developing interdisciplinary projects in conservation and restoration in the country. Accordingly, the areas of knowledge with strong relations with conservation and restoration were listed from the University graduate’s curricular matrices in the country. Then, a search was carried out in the CAPES Thesis and Dissertations Catalog. This study identified programs and institutions developing projects on conservation and restoration, creating transdisciplinary dialogues on the field of preservation.

Fainting and loss of consciousness (including syncope) are one of the most common causes of medical consultations. A detailed history is of particular importance in their diagnosis. It allows to select a group of patients with a high risk of life-threatening condition and to direct further interdisciplinary process with the participation of a cardiologist, neurologist, psychiatrist and psychologist. The head-up tilt test (HUTT) has a special place in the diagnosis of neurocardiogenic syncope. The main purpose of this review is to highlight the indications for HUTT and indicate situations in which it should be avoided due to the lack of added value of the applied therapy.

The paper presents the results of a interdisciplinary research study of terminology in the field ofenergy and environment. Some modalities of acquiring terminology in environment and energy field by meansof lexical and semantic entities to be mastered in a communication context are presented. Within theframework of a theoretical approach on the communication process, its cultural and social implications, thestudy is focused on a effects of applying a modern yet traditional learning method, problem-based learning andits benefits for the way information is rigorously organized and the importance of creating maps ofrepresentations of knowledge in this precise field. The knowledge-rich contexts contained in the corpora, thesemantic relations comprised in the lexical networks are also described

All adults should complete a health care proxy (HCP), especially those who are seriously ill or otherwise at increased risk of losing capacity. This study describes the implementation of an interdisciplinary process for helping patients complete HCPs during nonurgent visits at a large urban academic primary care practice between July 2014 and May 2017. The process was mapped using direct observations. Pre- and post-implementation measurement of the percent of patients who completed HCPs during their visit revealed significant improvement (1.4% vs 26.1% in the North Suite, special cause variation). Over the study period, the percentage of patients with HCP information rose significantly across the entire clinic (eg, 37% to 80% in the North Suite, Fisher exact test P < .0001; similar findings in other suites). Key facilitators and barriers to implementation were identified by physician leaders. An interdisciplinary process can sustainably improve the percentage of primary care patients with a completed HCP.

Abstract Purpose To develop and implement an interprofessional framework to increase the capture of health system–generated prescriptions within health system–owned pharmacies. Summary Low prescription capture rates within a health system’s internal pharmacies led to an interdisciplinary process improvement effort. A framework was developed to assess the baseline prescription capture rate, select clinics for improvement, understand clinic workflows and key drivers of pharmacy selection, design strategies to increase prescription capture, implement targeted efforts, and measure the effectiveness of the intervention(s). Employing this framework provided revised workflows for nursing and medical assistant staff scripting and for referral of patients to internal pharmacies. These workflows were pilot tested at 3 system clinics. Results indicated that overall prescription capture increased by 2.9 to 4.1 percentage points (range, 10 to 86 prescriptions per month) and specialty prescription capture increased by 11.6 to 26.7 percentage points (range, 4 to 26 prescriptions per month) for each clinic within the first 2 months. A total of 99 new patients were referred to internal pharmacies within the first month. Conclusion Development and implementation of a framework to increase prescription capture from health system clinics helped increase capture, enhanced clinic engagement and knowledge about pharmacy services, and supported positive clinic-pharmacy relationships.

Diagnosis of occupational diseases is an interdisciplinary process that requires special knowledge of medicine and other areas related to health and safety at work. So too is their diagnosis and treatment the responsibility of occupational health specialists. The recognition of occupational diseases in Croatia is regulated by the Law on the List of Occupational Diseases, while diagnosis is carried out according to modern occupational health criteria, which includes determining the clinical picture of the disease and the damage caused by the work process. The current health crisis caused by the pandemic of the new infectious disease COVID-19 points us to several challenges in the field of health and safety at work in the Republic of Croatia, including the administrative problem of reporting and recognising occupational diseases caused by COVID-19. At the beginning of April 2020, an amendment to the Regulation on Infectious Diseases completely removed all administrative barriers to the recognition of occupational diseases caused by COVID-19 infection.

This paper is devoted to how a team of experts scientifically supported redesigning the curriculum of an elective study program that promotes competences for sustainable development. In contrast to other case studies of higher education for sustainable development (HESD), the paper does not present the outcome of the curricular-redesign process but focuses on its scientific support. It shows how this process was initiated and facilitated. It understands curricular redesign as a social process. The premises are, first, that supporting curricular processes means guiding the decision-making of those in charge but not making decisions in their place, and second, that the redesign of a curriculum has to consider the existing institutional situation as well as empirical and theoretical expectations. The article discusses how scientific support can help a curricular redesign draw on both experience-based knowledge and sound HESD theories and findings. Furthermore, it reflects on the role of those supporting such a process and on how they can help the actors find a realistic compromise between the existing situation and the perceived ideal. This requires competences in mining, aggregating, and reprocessing knowledge in the field of HESD, as well as in designing and supporting an interdisciplinary process.
