A critical determinant of successful event management is the capacity to predict and monitor event costs and revenues. Cost blow-outs or lower than expected revenues can significantly impact an event’s financial performance, turn an anticipated profit into a loss, create major cash flow problems, and impair the financial health of an events business.

This event was carried out before the Covid 19 pandemic. This research was conducted to provide education and applications that an event concept can be used as the knowledge that can educate the public. In addition, the purpose of this research has not been found with the concept of a similar event with the same target and results as the successful event of the Rendang Journey. Today, MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) is an industry that can drive a generator of economic growth. The growth of the meetings and conventions industry has been stimulated by the growth of the knowledge economy. Planning an event can’t be done in a short amount of time. Preparation of an event with the concept of-  mature and well-directed will produce a successful event. Rendang Journey is a Culinary Tourism for culture, with youth generation as the target, and three serial activities, Seminar & Talkshow, Creations of Rendang Cooking Competition, and Culinary Tours to West Sumatera. The research methodology uses a mixed qualitative approach and quantitative (mixed methods) case studies to see the role and contribution of culinary tourism events to tourism policy. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews as supporting data and confirmation to respondents. Keywords:     Culinary Tourism, Rendang, Tourism Stakeholders

Strong collaborations are critical to successful youth transitions. Preparing students with disabilities for life after high school requires extensive partnerships within and beyond the school. However, transition educators often struggle to meaningfully engage the people and programs that exist within their local community. A community conversation event is a practical, fun, and effective way for districts to capture fresh perspectives and identify innovative, local solutions to persistent challenges in transition education. The purpose of this article is to highlight the key steps for planning for a community conversation, implementing the event, and using information gathered to inform improvements to transition programming. We draw from our work supporting 10 Tennessee school districts who hosted their own community conversations to reflect upon and improve their transition practices. We provide resources, materials, and tips for school districts to implement a successful event that leads to improvements in transition programming and student outcomes.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is one of the most important clinical therapies for neurological disorders. DBS also has great potential to become a great tool for clinical neuroscience research. Recently, the National Engineering Laboratory for Neuromodulation at Tsinghua University held an international Deep Brain Stimulation Initiative workshop to discuss the cutting-edge technological achievements and clinical applications of DBS. We specifically addressed new clinical approaches and challenges in DBS for movement disorders (Parkinson's disease and dystonia), clinical application toward neurorehabilitation for stroke, and the progress and challenges toward DBS for neuropsychiatric disorders. This review highlighted key developments in (1) neuroimaging, with advancements in 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging DBS compatibility for exploration of brain network mechanisms; (2) novel DBS recording capabilities for uncovering disease pathophysiology; and (3) overcoming global healthcare burdens with online-based DBS programming technology for connecting patient communities. The successful event marks a milestone for global collaborative opportunities in clinical development of neuromodulation to treat major neurological disorders.

Abstract This article offers the first scholarly account of the International Sakharov Hearings, which were prompted by the so-called Moscow Appeal (1974) and took place in Copenhagen (1975), Rome (1977), Washington, DC (1979), Lisbon (1983), and London (1985). The article provides a detailed examination of each hearing, from the amateurish and politically murky origins in Copenhagen to the more mainstream and quite successful event in London. The article also attempts an overall assessment of the hearings as an original, important case of an international citizens’ tribunal resulting from transnational human rights activism pursued in Andrei Sakharov's name in the context of the Helsinki process. It raises questions about the roles played by various individuals, networks, and agencies, as well as the possible impact of the hearings, both domestically and internationally.
