Against the background of people’s increasing awareness of personal safety and property safety, the flame retardancy (FR) of materials has increasingly become the focus of attention in the field of construction engineering. A variety of materials have been developed in research and production in this field. Polymers have many advantages, such as their light weight, low water absorption, high flexibility, good chemical corrosion resistance, high specific strength, high specific modulus and low thermal conductivity, and are often applied to the field of construction engineering. However, the FR of unmodified polymer is not ideal, and new methods to make it more flame retardant are needed to enhance the FR. This article primarily introduces the flame-retardant mechanism of fire retardancy. It summarizes the preparation of polymer flame-retardant materials by adding different flame-retardant agents, and the application and research progress related to polymer flame-retardant materials in construction engineering.

In order to study the properties of polyurethane cement composite (PUC) material, this paper has carried out the tests of compressive resistance, flexural resistance, axial tension, bonding and acid and alkali corrosion resistance of the material. The average compressive strength of the material is 59.3 MPa, the average flexural strength is 41.5 MPa, and the average axial tensile strength is 31.0 MPa. The bonding strength between the material and concrete in axial tension is 3.56 MPa, and that between the material and concrete in bending is 3.16 MPa. The failure interface of the two bond tests is not on the bond surface, indicating that the polyurethane cement composite (PUC) material has good bonding property. The chemical corrosion resistance test of polyurethane cement material showed no visible change on the surface of the material, indicating good chemical corrosion resistance.

This article describes the method for determining the chemical resistance of ceramic tiles, and discusses the influence of acid-base solution concentration on the test results during the experiment, and proposes corresponding improvement measures.

Based on the comprehensive analysis of various stress research schemes for steel-concrete composite truss joints, the current research status of steel-concrete composite truss joints and epoxy resin concrete at home and abroad are systematically elaborated. The existing problems in the current composite truss joints are analyzed, and possible solutions are proposed. At present, the research on epoxy resin concrete has been very extensive. Epoxy resin concrete has high strength, good toughness, high impact strength, good chemical corrosion resistance, wear resistance, water resistance, frost resistance, tensile resistance and compressive resistance, which make it widely used in engineering. The problem of using epoxy resin concrete instead of ordinary concrete in steel-concrete composite truss is put forward, analyzed and discussed.

This study focused on the basic performance and analysis of a newly developed composite filter media used in high temperature filtration for bag house. It consists of basalt and polysulfonamide fibers. Thermal dimensional stability, heat resistance, air permeability and chemical corrosion resistance were tested to reveal the properties. Based on the experimental results, possible analysis showed that the new filter material had excellent performance in heat resistance, air permeability and acid corrosion.

It’s of great importance to innocuity, minimization and reutilization of manganese slag generated in manganese product by electric furnace process. In the paper, ordinary Portland cement was incorporated by manganese slag, and then mechanical tests were performed to obtain the fundamental properties of the cement stabilized material in order to analyze the road performance of cement stabilized layer. The obtained experimental results showed that the manganese slag cement replaced by 2~6%( wt) manganese slag has better road performance such as mechanical properties, hydro-abrasive erosion and chemical corrosion resistance.

A series of mineral admixture slurry with different fineness was manufactured by means of wet-milling with stirring mill. The effect of mineral admixture treated by dry milling and wet milling on chemical corrosion resistance of concrete in artificial seawater was investigated in this paper. Results showed that, the chemical corrosion resistance of concrete with fly ash and original fly ash treated by different grinding mode is improved, and the chemical corrosion resistance of concrete with slag is relatively inferior. The compound of fly ash and slag can evidently improve the weakness of slag concrete that has poor chemical resistance.
