The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of honey supplementation in lactate ringer-egg yolk extender with 0.025% sodium dodecyl sulfate and 2% vitamin E addition (LREYSE) on the quality of Pelung chicken spermatozoa preserved at 5° C for 72 hours.Semen was collected from three Pelung chickens once per day over a course of three days using the dorsal-abdominal massage method. Semen was divided into 5 treatment groups of honey supplementation that are 0% as control (LREYSEH0), 1% (LREYSEH1), 2% (LREYSEH2), 3% (LREYSEH3), and 4% (LREYSEH4). This liquid semen was observed for sperm motility and viability every 12 hours. Complete random designrepeated measurement with 4 replications was used in this study. The results showed the motility and viability of spermatozoa in LREYSEextender with 2% honey supplementation (61.25±1.25% and 71.50±0.74%) was significantly higher (P0.05) than other treatments that are 0% (51.25±1.25% and 61.88±1.36%), 1% (52.50±1.44% and 63.25±1.38%), 3% (51.25±1.25% and 61.63±1.48%), and 4% (50.00±2.04% and 60.63±2.29%) of honey supplementation in extender at 36 hours of storage until the end of the observation at 72 hours of incubation. According to the results of this study, it can be concluded that the 2% honey supplementation in extender is the best treatment to maintain sperm motility and viability for 72 hours of storage.

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama penyimpanan semen ayam cemani terhadap moltilitas dan daya hidup spermatozoa pada pengencer ringer laktat kuning telur yang disimpan pada suhu 4°C. Penelitian ini menggunakanRancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tujuhkelompok perlakuan lama penyimpanan, yaituT0 = penyimpanan selama 0 jam, T1= penyimpanan selama 12 jam, T2 = penyimpanan selama 24 jam, T3 = penyimpanan selama 36 jam, T4 = penyimpanan selama 48 jam, T5 = penyimpanan selama 60 jam, T6 = penyimpanan selama 72 jam. Variabel yang diamatiberupamotilitas progresif (%)dan daya hidup spermatozoa (%). Motilitas diamati secara subyektif di bawah mikroskop cahaya dengan pembesaran 400kali,sedangkan daya hidup diamati dengan pengecatan eosin-nigrosin. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak empatkali.Data yang diperoleh dianalisisdengan uji sidik ragamdan apabila terdapat perbedaan yang nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama penyimpanan berpengaruh nyataterhadap motilitas dan daya hidup sperma.Setelah 70 jam penyimpanandidapatkan motilitas spermatozoa 42,00±0,8% dandaya hidup 44,00±0,82%.Pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bawa lama penyimpanan semen ayam cemani menggunakan pengencer ringer laktat kuning telur pada suhu 4º C masih layak digunakan selama 60 jam penyimpanan dengan motilitas 46,00±0,81% dandaya hidup 50,75±0,96%.

Background: We developed a Hemoglobin vesicle (HbV) and which is an artificial substitute for Red blood cells (RBCs). Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of intraosseous HbV transfusion for alternative treatment instead of massive RBCs transfusion in rabbits with hemorrhagic shock. Methods: Hypohemoglobinemia (Hb 5.0 ± 0.7 g/dl) was induced in rabbits by blood withdrawal (70% of total blood volume) and half compensative infusion of normal saline (35% of total blood volume), which resulted severe hemorrhagic shock (mean arterial pressure 21 ± 2 mmHg). Immediately, shortage of the blood volume (35% of total blood volume) was intraosseously infused of lactate ringer (n=8), 5% human serum albumin (n=10) or HbV with 5% human serum albumin (3:2=vol: vol) (n=8). During the experiment hemodynamics and blood cell counts were measured with time. Results: Mean arterial pressure immediately recovered (44 ± 11 mmHg), improving hypohemoglobinemia (7.1 ± 0.6 g/dl) by administration with HbV, although rabbits receiving 5% Albumin and lactate ringer never improved hemodynamics and hypohemoglobinemia. (33 ± 7 mmHg / 3.4 ± 0.4 g/dl, 26 ± 4 mmHg / 4.5 ± 0.4 g/dl, p < 0.05 vs HbV group, respectively) As a result, 75% of rabbits receiving HbV survived after 24hours, while half of rabbits with 5% Albumin were dead within 18hours and all rabbits with lactate ringer were dead within 6hours. Conclusions: Intraosseous infusion of HbV effectively restore the Hb and maintain the hemodynamics for acute hemorrhagic shock in the difficult situation to get blood access.

Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of death especially in children. Approximately 10% of cases of diarrhea in children under five years old (toddlers) worldwide are bloody diarrhea or dysentery.The purpose of this study was to determine profile of the diarrhea prescribing of children inpatients at hospital Dr. Kanudjoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan period October to December 2015.This research was conducted by non experimental retrospectively method with purposive sampling and analyzed descriptively using microsoft excel.Profile of the diarrhea prescribing of children inpatients at hospital Dr. Kanudjoso Djatiwibowo Balikpapan encompasses the use of the single most antibiotic ceftriaxone 24%, the most commonly used combination antibiotic, ampicillin combination with chloramphenicol 12%, rehydration therapy widely used lactate ringer 38%, supplement therapy widely used zinc 90%.Prescribing medication for diarrheal disease of inpatients at hospital Dr. Kanudjoso Djatiwibowo Balikapapan has been in accordance with the procedure of diarrhea treatment of Ministry of Health RI (MOH RI 2011) five steps to solve diarrhea.

Chicken Kampung Broiler (KB) is the result of a cross between a local chicken (chicken) with broiler imported chicken (broiler chicken). Testing the quality of frozen chicken semen from crossing needs to be done to get high productivity. This study aims to obtain a concentration of cryoprotectant Dimethyl Acetamide (DMA) the best of the concentration of 5%, 7% and 9% in chicken semen freezing KB. The semen used in this study came from three chickens of KB and repeated as many as nine times. Semen is collected by the method of message three times a week. Semen is evaluated macroscopically and microscopically. Subsequently spermatozoa were diluted with yolk diluent and the addition of three DMA cryoprotectant concentrations (5%, 7%, and 9%). Semen diluted 0:25 ml is packed into straw. Then equilibrated at a temperature of 5 ° C for two hours.  After equilibration evaluation of motility and viability of spermatozoa. It is then frozen on liquid nitrogen vapor for 10 minutes. Frozen semen is then stored in liquid nitrogen containers at a temperature of -196 ° C. After 24 hours, the thawing semen in 37 ° C for 30 seconds. The results showed that the addition of DMA 9% in Ringer's lactate diluent yolk produces a percentage motility and viability after thawing is greater than 5% and DMA 7%. Neither the addition of DMA 9% concentration can increase recovery rate after thawing
