The most common image of the European Quarter of Brussels is built on the idea of a clean, free, safe and controlled space that attracts people with high economic, social and cultural capital, and a growing number of "passing" users (tourists or consumers). Against this background, our research aimed to investigate the nexus between the material, symbolic, normative and discursive construction of the EU district time-space, on one hand, and everyday life, on the other. To do so, we explored the potential of a rhythmic and nonrepresentational approach in deconstructing dominant socio-spatial-temporal representations, scraping off the layers of the commonly-known to unveil alternative chronotopes. In this article, we present and discuss a reinterpretation of our experience and discuss the results of our analysis through four chronotopes linked to the spatio-temporal rhythms we observed, rhythms we have called Public time-space, Interstices, Intersections and Traces-as-remains.

Now days it is very important to save the time, money in terms of travelling and parking too. If any one goes to the shopping, people didn’t know, is there any space to the vehicle parking or not,in such a cases to save the public time, automatic car parking helps. Working principle is depends on the sensors which is already arranged in the parking area and LDR sensor which is at the entrance of car parking. It’s all manage with LDR sensors and Arduino micro controller .the simulated results with proteus software pursued .

Nevenka Koprivšek wrote about the state, needs and vision of the presentation and rehearsal spaces in the field of performing arts more than twenty years ago, even before Bunker institute took over the management of the Old Power Station. Despite some newly acquired spaces described by Rok Vevar in his article “The Problem of Public Cultural Spaces from the Perspective of Public Time”, there is still a lack of understanding regarding the complex needs of art production, which includes appropriate and sufficient studio conditions. Art is not a done cultural product.

Abstract Motivation Mortality Tracker is an in-browser application for data wrangling, analysis, dissemination and visualization of public time series of mortality in the United States. It was developed in response to requests by epidemiologists for portable real time assessment of the effect of COVID-19 on other causes of death and all-cause mortality. This is performed by comparing 2020 real time values with observations from the same week in the previous 5 years, and by enabling the extraction of temporal snapshots of mortality series that facilitate modeling the interdependence between its causes. Results Our solution employs a scalable ‘Data Commons at Web Scale’ approach that abstracts all stages of the data cycle as in-browser components. Specifically, the data wrangling computation, not just the orchestration of data retrieval, takes place in the browser, without any requirement to download or install software. This approach, where operations that would normally be computed server-side are mapped to in-browser SDKs, is sometimes loosely described as Web APIs, a designation adopted here. In On Revolution, Hannah Arendt addresses the central conundrum of legitimacy: the source of authority to found a new political form. On Arendt’s account, for revolutionary founding to evade the twin dangers of an infinite regress or a vicious circle, and to succeed in the constitution of a political body, it must enact and invoke both a worldly and a temporal component. To understand the bond between authority, constitution, and constituent power, Arendt thus analyzes the exchange between political space and political time. For the inauguration of a stable and secure public space, the events of founding must permit the independence of what it founds, unbinding the founding deed from the worldly object. For the inauguration of enduring public time, the constitutional document must contain a principle of self-preservation or endurance, allowing the present to appeal to both the past (ancestors) and the future (descendants). By thus distinguishing the authority of a constituted document, which maintains jurisdiction through time, both from the public theater within which the people’s plurality, creativity, and power can flourish, and from inaugural violence, the authoritative relay between space and time also sustains a politics of inheritance that moves between binding and unbinding.

Time series modeling has attracted extensive research efforts; however, achieving both reliable efficiency and interpretability from a unified model still remains a challenging problem. Among the literature, shapelets offer interpretable and explanatory insights in the classification tasks, while most existing works ignore the differing representative power at different time slices, as well as (more importantly) the evolution pattern of shapelets. In this paper, we propose to extract time-aware shapelets by designing a two-level timing factor. Moreover, we define and construct the shapelet evolution graph, which captures how shapelets evolve over time and can be incorporated into the time series embeddings by graph embedding algorithms. To validate whether the representations obtained in this way can be applied effectively in various scenarios, we conduct experiments based on three public time series datasets, and two real-world datasets from different domains. Experimental results clearly show the improvements achieved by our approach compared with 16 state-of-the-art baselines.

AbstractMany Germans defended local time well beyond 1893, when Germany adopted a time standard bearing on the life of the entire nation. Yet the defining feature of Germany's temporal landscape was its multilayered nature, with North and South adopting different temporal regimes and undergoing different experiences. Focusing on the spread of (railway-induced) standard time and the responses it provoked, this article offers an investigation of German time culture in the nineteenth century. Out of curiosity and because their lives depended on it, Germans took an interest in obtaining the right time from the frequently contradictory horological landscapes they inhabited. Yet their shared curiosity did not breed conformity. The inspectors of the station clocks concerned with accuracy and synchronicity; the townsfolk in southern Germany who fast-forwarded their favorite public clock in order to get to the station in time; the Prussian scientists and villagers who opposed railway time becoming public time—they all, in their own way, contributed to putting time back in its place.

This article makes two arguments. First, that advanced information and communication technologies (ICTs) have created multiple parallel flows of consumption that allow us to be productive continuously, in the sense of generating value for the economy. Second, the struggle over social time poses emergent challenges for planning and urban design. After introducing the relevant themes, this article explains how value is derived from labour and the process through which time is made economically productive. Next, it is posited that advanced ICTs, especially mobile devices and associated services, create possibilities for multiple flows of time, freeing consumption from territorial and temporal restrictions, and opening up new forms of labour. This discussion elicits some concerns for those interested in communities and urban space. The article concludes with suggestions for adopting a socio-spatial-temporal outlook to urban planning and design, including designing ‘polyrhythmic’ places and planning for public time.

Public timekeeping devices such as analogue watch, digital watch and smart watch give several of accuracy as there are differences between the public time and the standard time. The consequence of having various accuracies in timekeeping is there will be difficulties in having reasonable agreement with other timekeeping devices when it involves public time-reference applications such as attendance system, car parking system, prayer timekeeping as well as making appointments and meetings. In this paper, public timekeeping accuracy has been determined. The data for this study is collected using questionnaire survey, in which the respondents are asked about the information of their timekeeping devices and accuracy. One-way analysis of variance and independent t-test are used to determine the factors of that impact on public timekeeping accuracy. Our results show that type of timekeeping devices, gender differences and calibration of the devices have significant impacts on public timekeeping accuracy. The findings also indicate that public timekeeping accuracy for this study is 2.07 min (S.D. ± 2.20 min). Differences ranged from -8.12 to +10.07 minutes, with a median of 1.18 minutes. Overall, this study provides evidence that it is difficult for the public to perfectly match their time with the Malaysian Standard Time. With these findings in mind, policy makers should consider timekeeping accuracy among the public in order to define acceptable range in time-compliance.
