This chapter first provides an overview with examples of what neural networks (NN), machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) are and their applications in biomedical and business situations. The characteristics of 29 types of neural networks are provided including their distinctive graphical illustrations. A survey of current open-source software (OSS) for neural networks, neural network software available for free trail download for limited time use, and open-source software (OSS) for machine learning (ML) are provided. Characteristics of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for machine learning available as open source are discussed. Illustrations of applications of neural networks, machine learning, and artificial intelligence are presented as used in the daily operations of a large internationally-based software company for optimal configuration of their Helix Data Capacity system.

Abstract Based on the perception technology of power Internet of Things, this paper selects software such as Load Runner 10.0 as the research tool, simulates the application of network software of 60 clients through four computers simultaneously, and detects its relevant running status. Studies have found that the majority of users can normal login, using the system operation, the complete set of business processes, but at the same time, this study also continue to explore complex business operation in the process of software development problems, on the basis of monophyletic Overlay the development road of processing nodes to join, the goal is to fusion power iota perception technology, promote the further development and application of iota perception software.

IEICE Technical Workshop on Network Software, BS-26-2.I have proposed environment-adaptive software that automatically converts the description code according to the destination device and operates it with high performance. Currently, for environments where GPUs, FPGAs, and manycore CPUs are mixed in the cloud or so on, all offload destination performance is verified and the fastest migration destination is selected, and it takes a long time. In this paper, I use the Arithmetic Intensity of the application loop statement to verify whether it is possible to select for GPU or manycore CPU.

In this research, specifically an electrical distribution system design of the proposed microgrid in a remote barangay, Brgy. Rogongon, in Iligan City, is presented. Due to limited access and limited-service electrical utility grid, about 10 % of the Philippine household population at a development disadvantage. Through the project, potential sites for hydropower and solar PV installations as well as distribution pathways were identified using Geographic Information (GIS). Household surveys were conducted to obtain the 5 yr projected load demand and the results are presented in thematic maps. The electrical distribution system of the microgrid was designed and simulated using Just Another Electrical Distribution Network Software (JAED.NS). The system simulation showed an acceptable 5.94 % estimated total system loss which implies that the designed electrical distribution system is feasible.

According to the authors point of view, absence of the accepted by metrological society software based on simple and understandable and at the same time flexible and multipurpose mathematical apparatus is one of the restrictions on the way to arrangement of international comprehensive comparisons with expanded group of participants (hereinafter — comprehensive comparisons). General methodology of measurements adjustment by the least square method (LSM) may be used for this mathematical apparatus. Software named «Metrology Network» is defined. It was used for repeated processing of measurement results during the key comparisons of EURAMET.L-K1.2011 «Measurement of gage blocks by interferometer». «Metrology Network» software allowed to estimate simply and quickly systematic measurement error components of the gage blocks length measurement by each laboratory. They are called multiplicative and additive measurement standards degrees of equivalence. «Metrology Network» allowed to estimate strictly by LSM the uncertainties of length measurement. Additive degrees of equivalence are considered substantial and constant characteristics of the measurement standards for many laboratories. Thus, they coincide for steel and ceramic gage blocks. These additive degrees of equivalence may be used as corrections in the process of calibration or as the reference values for further comparisons. The simulation of measurement results for international comprehensive comparisons with complicated structure was provided. For 120 laboratories divided into 12 groups, totally 2442 length measurements of the steel or ceramic gage blocks were provided. They form together 24 sets of 8 gage blocks and provide 24 loops of comparisons. Necessity to provide the adjustment by the least square method is caused by the fact that two subgroups from each group of three laboratories took part in two different related loops of comparison. As a conclusion, «Metrology Network» software easily managed this complicated task of adjustment.  It allowed us to calculate each of 120 measurement standards additive degree of equivalence relative to the averaged zero for all measurement standards and multiplicative degree of equivalence relative to the averaged measurement unit.

This preliminary study aimed to differentiate domestic pigs from wild boars based on MC1R and NR6A1 polymorphisms and to identify admixture between these genomes. We studied samples obtained from wild boars from two regions of Poland and five pig breeds: Polish Landrace, Polish Large White, Złotnicka White, Pulawska and Duroc. Along the MC1R gene sequence, we identified four polymorphic loci comprising three codons. The “wild type” allele was primarily found in wild boar but also in the Duroc and Złotnicka White breeds. Non-wild type alleles were identified in the vast majority of domestic pig samples and in two wild boar samples. Based on MC1R profiles, we conducted a population study, and revealed admixture between both genomes using STRUCTURE and NETWORK Software. Interestingly, an allelic discrimination assay with NR6A1 g.748C > T TaqMan probes revealed a clear separation of samples into two groups: wild boar samples representing the C allele and domestic breeds representing the T allele. Based on the obtained results, we conclude that NR6A1 g.748C > T is an effective marker for differentiating between wild boars and domestic pigs, where this is supported by MC1R data, to identify admixed profiles. We recommend that a larger sample of genomes is studied to verify this method.

The exponential growth of IoT devices connected to the Internet has led to the need to develop a new technology for managing them. The challenges posed by the implementation of IoT networks have emerged in the control and management of IoT applications and networks that become difficult to maintain, the programming of IoT devices. In addition, IoT devices are not designed to allow centralized management and control. Things get even more complicated when the IoT administrator has to manually configure all distributed IoT devices to add each new feature to the network. Software-Defined Networking - SDN solves existing network-level problems by providing the ability to build increasingly complex IoT-based systems in a simpler and more flexible manner. The paper aims to detail the evolution of SDN and IoT networks and an analysis of the benefits and challenges of SDN and IoT integration.
