The article deals with humanization trends in special pedagogy and psychology pertaining to the physical rehabilitation of children with developmental disabilities. The authors maintain that in Russia due to sociocultural and historical prerequisites, humanization trends pertaining to the physical rehabilitation of children with developmental disabilities are a recent phenomenon which will undoubtedly provide stimulus for new developments. The aim of the research is to investigate the humanization trends and their relation to the physical rehabilitation of children with developmental disorders. The relevance of the investigated issue is accounted for by the fact that during rehabilitation procedures it is necessary to take into account the emotional instability of disabled children resulting in psychological trauma and physical impairments in children and depression and anxiety in parents. The rehabilitation procedures for children with developmental disabilities should be viewed in relationship to the means and the end goals. Relying on the antithetical principle of means and ends, one can better monitor disabled children’s emotional state, promote their physical rehabilitation, which accounts for the novelty of the research.

Abstract Background Counting the repetition of human exercise and physical rehabilitation is a common task in rehabilitation and exercise training. The existing vision-based repetition counting methods less emphasize the concurrent motions in the same video. Methods This work analyzed the spectrogram of the pose estimation result to count the repetition. Besides from the public datasets. This work also collected exercise videos from 11 adults to verify the proposed method is capable for handling concurrent motion and different view angles. Results The presented method was validated on the University of Idaho Physical Rehabilitation Movements Data Set (UI-PRMD) and MM-fit dataset. The overall mean absolute error (MAE) for MM-fit was 0.06 with off-by-one Accuracy (OBOA) 0.94. As for UI-PRMD dataset, MAE was 0.06 with OBOA 0.95. We have also tested the performance in a variety of camera locations and concurrent motions with 57 skeleton time-series video with overall MAE 0.07 and OBOA 0.91. Conclusion The proposed method provides a view-angle and motion agnostic concurrent motion counting. This method can potentially use in large-scale remote rehabilitation and exercise training with only one camera.

The efficacy of a specially designed physical rehabilitation program to alleviate hip pain and improve function in patients with vertebral arthralgia of the hip was investigated. The rehabilitation program included exercises to strengthen and stretch the muscles of the lower back and exercises for balance. Data from 32 women with unilateral or bilateral hip arthralgia were analyzed. They underwent physical rehabilitation for 3 months. The average age of the patients was 64.5 years. The WOMAC questionnaire (Western Ontario and McMaster Universities osteoarthritis Index) with three subscales, the Timed-Up and Go functional test, measurements of walking speed, maximum walking speed and the ability to keep balance were used for the initial assessment of the patient's condition and assessment of the effectiveness of the rehabilitation intervention. Walking speed and maximum walking speed were measured using a stopwatch. The balance was tested using the Berg scale. The data obtained indicate significant positive changes in pain sensation and functional ability according to WOMAC, maximum walking speed, in functional test "Timed-Up and Go" and balance under the influence of rehabilitation intervention. The difference in pain score was 70.75 ± 17.58 mm. The indicator of the functional ability of patients associated with the hip joint during the rehabilitation period changed by 31%, which is a significant change (p ≤ 0.05). There was an increase in the maximum walking speed (on average by 26%) and a decrease in the time for passing the ""Timed-Up and Go" test (on average by 13%) (p <0.05).
