Based on the teaching case methodology, a case was designed and validated in an electronic format (e-case), about critical thinking in relation to violence in the teenage couples. The design considers a situation-problem in the form of narrative, exposed to the high school students, who through a series of questions and activities proceed to the analysis, take a position and propose solutions. The e-case was carried out on HTML5 using WIX.com, and contains the following entries: introduction, characters, story, questions, activities, evaluation and contact. This article reports the techno-pedagogical design and the validation by experts and with the target population. The results were favorable and coincident regarding the content, didactic treatment and design of the website. Likewise, guidelines are provided for the design of an e-case and validation model for those who wish to get involved in this strategy.

This is an era of profound changes in the businesses management and in people’s life. Many companies need to survive, recover and find new ways to create value for stakeholders. A focus on service is an imperative for that purpose, but it is necessary to harmonize this focus with a right understanding about the creation of value in the organizational reality according to the new era. As new technologies are replacing, facilitating and complementing the work of service employees more than ever, it is crucial reorienting the value that service can add. Our task is rethinking the main forces for establishing a focus on service in order to create consistent value. We focus on service culture and climate as the forces that need to be integrated for conveniently connecting with the organizational dimensions for creating value. Through an anthropological analysis and the case methodology we can understand the connection among the key organizational dimensions and the value they create: (a) to obtain sufficient incentives and resources-economic value, (b) to develop the organizational capability-social value and (c) to forge trust and commitment to the mission-ethical value. We extend current conceptualizations about climate and culture focused on creating value and share our reflections about the required connections for consolidating an integrated value, suggesting some managerial implications for that purpose.

Introduction. An immediate estimate of the accidental error of sample reduction can only be made if the measurement method of execution is zero. This can be achieved by imitating the grains of a useful component with markers fully extracted from the reduced sample. The markers can be larger than 44 "Izvestiya vysshikh uchebnykh zavedenii. Gornyi zhurnal". No. 4. 2021 ISSN 0536-1028 the maximum size of the sample material and are extracted from the sample using screens. Markers whose granulometric composition matches the sample composition should be extracted completely from the reduced sample using a hand magnet in the case. Methodology. A small number of markers of the correct shape imitates forgeable gold grains or d99 platinum. A much larger number of free-form markers simulate the granulometric composition of a sample in the –1+0.5 mm class. It is necessary to find a form factor linking the particles real volume with the cube volume. For magnetite markers, the form factor is 0.4. Results and analysis. The samples have been reduced with regular shaped and free-form markers, which makes it possible to experimentally determine the error of reduction. Theoretical formulas found errors for the conditions of experiments. For experiments with the regular shaped markers, a 54.77– 58.43% relative reduction error has been obtained according to 480 parallel measurements. Theoretically determined 57.64% relative error falls into this range. Similar relative reduction errors with free-form markers are 8.82–10.00% and 9.15%. Conclusion. The fairness of the reduction error analytical formula has been directly evaluated for the first time. The reduction error analytical formula can be applied when analyzing the schemes of sample preparation.

The growing penetration of renewable energy sources (RES) in the electrical power sector has increased the amount of distributed generation (DG) units connected at the distribution system level. In this context, new balancing challenges have arisen, creating the need for a novel use case methodology to enable an active role at the distribution system level such that transmission system operators (TSOs) can coordinate with distribution system operators (DSOs) with regard to connected resources for balancing purposes. In this study, the exploitation of the DSO-connected resources for balancing purposes in a market environment is proposed and evaluated via a novel business use case (BUC) methodology based on the categorization of IEC 62913-1. More specifically, in order to address different balancing market situations, two scenarios are considered with regard to the BUC. The first one represents the data exchange between the TSO, the DSO, and the balancing service provider (BSP). The second one represents an alternative scenario where data are exchanged directly between the TSO and the DSO, where the DSO also takes on the role of the BSP. The proposed BUC was also developed in order to validate the required data modeling and exchange mechanisms between DSOs and TSOs in order to exploit DSO-connected resources for overall system balancing purposes across different time scales.

Few papers have dealt with disruptive technology from a technological evolutionary perspective. This article analyses disruptive innovation activities in terms of the new concept of technological DNA (TDNA). To pursue the research aim, evolution theories and a case methodology were utilised. We find that evolutions in technology are due to changes in environmental conditions. Parallels may be drawn between technology discontinuity and the punctuated equilibrium theory in evolution. When seen from that perspective, TDNA has not been disrupted but has evolved within the new market environment, and technological evolution gives birth to a new industry. New products or services are created through the changing or reconfiguring of TDNA. Over time, technology evolves, but its inherent nature remains. For that reason, TDNA is not disrupted even if disruptive innovation occurs. Rather, through the process of disruptive innovation, new functions are created by the substitution or replacement of the architecture surrounding the technology which determines how it actually functions. Thus we may refer to this phenomenon as a ‘Multiplier innovation’ rather than a disruptive innovation in that it involves the birthing of new products. This article seeks to contribute to innovation studies in expanding its methodological framework.

Abstract The central case methodology captures the features that something must have in order for it to be that thing. As applied to the field of discrimination law, the methodology helps identify both the central cases of discrimination as well as the key features of discrimination law which address such discrimination. Theorists typically conceive central cases of discrimination law from norms prohibiting discrimination on particular grounds, such as race or sex. This gives the impression that discrimination based on more than one ground is not a central case of discrimination or not prohibited by discrimination law. This article challenges that impression. It argues that, although discrimination based on a combination of grounds (‘intersectional discrimination’) is considered no more than a peripheral case in discrimination law, it should actually be considered ‘more than’ a central case itself. This is because it is epistemically able to capture discrimination in a wider sense. With this, the article seeks to orientate the theoretical discourse in discrimination law to the correct application of the central case methodology which necessitates the consideration of intersectional discrimination.

A person is in close contact with the natural environment throughout his life. In the interaction of nature and man, an important role is played by the preservation of ecological balance in the conditions of continuously growing needs of society. Environmental culture has a beneficial effect on the degree of development of the level of legal and environmental awareness in the society, as well as compliance by the members of the society with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. In the conditions of the rule of law, there is a great need for professional lawyers who are able to assist in the environmental and legal education of a person throughout his life. In order to raise the level of environmental and legal culture of the society, in our opinion, a special role should be assigned to professional lawyers, for whom this should be part of their professional activities. Within the framework of this research, we have proposed and implemented a case methodology on the subject of environmental law for law students.

This paper presents a survey of Assurance Case implementation for applications which are not directly related to the usual for Assurance Case regulatory regime. The UK is the country which first developed the theory of Assurance Case as a response to big catastrophes, and most applies Assurance Case regime for many industrial domains. USA, Australia and EU countries apply Assurance Case approach for safety and security regulation and licensing. For the last two decades Assurance Case has been used mostly for confirmation analysis of critical systems with established set of regulatory requirements. There are proven standards of use, notations and tools to support Assurance Case methodology. However, many researchers have tried to find approach to expand Assurance Case application to communicating domains. We group the following directions of Assurance Case applications as the following ones: Assurance Case for attributes assessment such as quality, dependability and, first of all, safety and security, Assurance Case based certification, improvement of argumentation, assurance based development, and Assurance Case for knowledge management. The main challenges and solutions of development and application of Assurance Case methodology, techniques and tools have been analyzed.
