Objective: The research aims to formulate and evaluate Solid Dispersion tablets of Silymarin. Methods: Solid dispersions of Silymarin were prepared with various concentrations of carriers by using solvent evaporation method. The prepared solid dispersions were compressed into tablets by using 8 mm punch rotary tablet punching machine, with the hardness of 3.5kg /cm2.The formulated tablets were evaluated for various quality control parameters. Results: Silymarin was mixed with various proportions of excipients which showed no drug-excipients interactions. The precompression blend of Silymarin solid dispersions were characterized with respect to angle of repose, bulk density, tapped density, Carrs index and Hausners ratio. The precompression blend of all the batches indicated good to fair flowability and compressibility. Conclusion: The tablet passed all the tests. Among all the formulations F4 formulation containing, Drug and PEG 4000 in the ratio of 1:4 showed good result that is 94.95 % in 60 minutes. As the concentration of polymer increased the drug release was increased. While the formulations containing PEG 6000 showed less release. Hence from the dissolution data it was evident that F4 formulation is the better formulation.

Background: Rivastigmine Tartrate belongs to the class of cholinesterase inhibitors in Anti-alzheimer’s disease with optimum therapeutic efficacy. Till now no validated method of its quantification has been reported in simulated nasal fluid. Objective: The current research investigation aims to develop a rapid, simple, and reliable UV spectrophotometric method for the quantitative determination of the pure form of Rivastigmine Tartrate in SNF. Method: A suitable method was developed by using double beam UV spectrophotometer and selection of a suitable solvent system for estimation of Rivastigmine Tartrate at absorbance maxima 263nm in SNF. The method was validated for various parameters like including accuracy, linearity and precision as per the International Conference on Harmonization guidelines. Results: The method developed by selecting simulated nasal fluid as the solvent system satisfied the optimum condition of the good quality peak at the selected wavelength. The results proposed the developed method for Rivastigmine Tartrate quantification in the simulated nasal fluid to be linear in the working concentration range of 5-60 µg/ml with a co-relation coefficient of 0.998. The % accuracy was found to be 99.8 -100.57. The % RSD values were < 2 while LOD & LOQ values were detected to be 0.316 and 1.053 respectively. Conclusion: The stated method was analyzed to be rapid, accurate, reliable, and precise. Further, it can be used in checking the quality control parameters of the Rivastigmine Tartrate in routine analysis.

Solenostemon monostachyus P. Beauv (Lamiaceae), it’s ethnomedical uses include anti-plasmodial, anti-pyretic, antiulcerogenic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive activities. The aim of this study was to employ the quality control parameters in the evaluation of the leaf and stem of Solenostemon monostachyus to aid in the identification and standardization of the medicinal plant. The plant leaves and stems were collected, identified, air-dried, pulverized and stored in separate glass containers. Standard procedures were employed to obtain the microscopic features of the fresh and powdered samples, micromeritic, chemomicroscopy, fluorescence properties, moisture contents, ash values and soluble extractive values. The results of the microscopic studies using fresh and powdered leaf samples revealed the presence of diacytic stomata on both the abaxial and adaxial surfaces (amphistomatic), with stomatal index of 27.9% and 14.8% respectively. The result of the micromeritics properties of the powdered leaf and stem samples showed angles of repose of 38.0o and 46.0o, Carr’s index of 23.7% and 32.5% and Hausner’s ratios of 1.3 and 1.5 respectively. Results for the moisture content, total, acid-insoluble and water-soluble ash values were 11.7%w/w, 13.7%w/w, 1.8%w/w and 9.4%w/w for the leaf and 13.3%w/w, 17.3%w/w, 1.8%w/w and 9.2%w/w for the stem respectively. Extractive values for water-soluble, methanol-soluble and ethanol-soluble were 26.5%w/w, 32.3%w/w, 14.5%w/w and 15.5%w/w, 15.8%w/w and 14.5%w/w for the leaf and stem respectively. Chemomicroscopy indicated the presence of lignin, calcium oxalate crystals and protein in the leaf and stem. The results obtained therefore could be used to establish pharmacopoeial standard for the fresh and powdered drug products of Solenostemon monostachyus, thus preventing adulteration.

Chyawanprash, a polyherbal formulation, is popular for its nutritional value and is widely used as a tonic, rejuvenator, immunomodulator, and enhancer. This study aimed to evaluate the quality profile of five different brands of Chyawanprash marketed in Nepal. Proximate analysis, estimation of heavy metal, physicochemical analysis, determination of microbial contamination, estimation of vitamin C, and detection of heavy metals were carried out to assess the therapeutical values and compare the quality control parameters. All the analyses were carried out based on standard procedures. The data analysis revealed that the presence of moisture content (11.83 ± 1.61%–19.90 ± 0.92%), ash content (1.2–2.3%), energy (316.12 ± 1.96–363 ± 11.90 Kcal/100g), acid-insoluble ash content (0.12 ± 0.05–1.47 ± 0.26%), pH (5.12–5.34), vitamin C (9.92–28.58 mg/100g), and heavy metals was not detected in ppm in any of the brands. Chyawanprash holds tremendous amounts of nutritional value suitable for treating different types of illness. Thus, stringent quality control parameters should be implemented from the government level for product consistency and to reduce variation among different brands.

Abstract An observation network will never be enough for creating good information about monthly rainfall. An interpolation method is always needed. For operational purposes, inverse distance weighting (IDW) method is used. In East Java, 197 observation points are involved, then IDW's parameters used are neighbor=12 and power=2. The consequences of this framework are investigated in this study. By reversing IDW's formula, two kinds of raster analyses are developed, distance to neighbor used (DNU) and coefficient from point (CFP). DNU shows how far points are used for doing interpolation in some area by kilometer (km) meanwhile CFP describes an area impacted by a point and value sent to another cell from an observation point. Data used in this study are longitude and latitude of 197 observation points. The scripts are written in R Language. Analysis based on local governmental region shows that Sumenep has very far DNU. In average, the first point used located more than 25 km, and its twelfth is 112 km (average other regions DNU1=7 km and DNU12=35 km). It means there should be a unique interpolation mechanism for Sumenep. CFP confirms that some points give impact in unnatural ways (impacted area=5741 km2). We propose DNU and CFP as alternative quality control parameters for investigating consequences in interpolating rainfall.

The quality control activities, in particular the measurement of density values, are part of the quality control parameters carried out by each company. Companies sometimes forget about the quality parameters of the name, even though the quality can give the printed products a good guarantee in the eyes of consumers. To achieve the quality level, of course, the business does not stand idle, there are several things that need to be done or provided by the business to support the quality, namely man (human), machine (machine), material (material), and method (method). In the development of technology in an increasingly advanced digital world, companies want to continue to compete with a digital world by making inroads, this of course gives the products produced by the company a good or a good level of quality. In this discussion, there is an identification of problematic aspects arising from the deviation of density values as well as ways to obtain standard density values and factors that affect the quality of prints on book cover prints using a Heidelberg machine. Keywords—Quality Control, Density, Standart, Product, Deviation
