Abstract This research focuses on hematological characteristics, erythrocyte morphology and some biochemical parameters of red drum Sciaenops ocellatus (Perciformes: Sciaenidae), cultured in natural water environment in areas near river mouth (L1), estuaries (L2) in Ha Tinh province and coastal areas (L3) in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province of Vietnam. A total of 18 speciments were examined in research, six in each location. Blood was drawn from the tail vein, using a microscope to research morphology and automated gauges to determine blood biochemical parameters. Analysis of blood samples showed that the rate of red drum’s erythrocyte morphology disorders in all three locations was quite high. The two main types of disorders were nuclear deformity and nuclear-matter distribution. Changes in erythrocyte size, shape and nuclear were related to salt concentration at culture locations. Blood hemoglobin content was stable in all three regions. Other hematological parameters such as the number of erythrocytes, blood biochemical parameters (glucose, SGOT, SGPT, urea, creatine, plasma iron, albumin, and protein) have differences among the locations, which showed the different reactions of the same species with different environmental conditions.

Abstract The paper describes a method of a beam radiation parameters analysis. Such analysis bases on the laser beam registration in the plane of a diffusely reflecting screen and digital processing of the registered image. The algorithm of the laser beam spatial parameters determination is presented and realized programmatically. The experiment was carried out using a digital high-speed video system and a solid-state pulsed periodic laser based on a Cr3+: BeAl2O4 alexandrite crystal. A comparison of the proposed method with a standardized method based on the registration of radiation by a matrix photodetector is presented. The development of measure methods of the laser radiation parameters is necessary due to the appearance of new sources of laser radiation and their use in various applications.

ABSTRACT The replacement of bedding in compost dairy barns (CB) comprises a recurrent management practice, but bedding materials are often not readily available in all regions and the choice of alternative materials is necessary. The objective was to evaluate the thermal attributes of carnauba straw (CS) bedding in compost dairy barn facilities. Environmental monitoring operations were performed at a commercial farm located in Northeast Brazil. Mini weather stations were used to evaluate environmental variables. The THI was evaluated as one of the comfort parameters. Analysis of the spatial distribution of bed surface temperature (BST) in the CB was performed using geostatistical techniques. The cows remained out of the comfort zone according to THI results. The BST indicated satisfactory performance and from the thermal point of view can be used as alternative bedding material in CB facilities. However, it was observed that the CS showed fast biomass degradation compared to conventional materials, widely known. In addition, inadequate temperature values (< 45°C) were found in the deeper of the CS bed, signaling higher risks of pathogenic microbial activity. Additional studies are needed for searching the proper management plans that increase the life span of the bed formed by carnauba straw.

Force transducer is one of the load cell which is used to measure force or weight, pressure etc. various types of transducers are manufacturing for various applications. But most of strain gauge type of transducer is used. In current research, optimization of octagonal type of force transducer design is carried out by maximizing sensitivity and minimizing the volume. Force transducer is analyze with the help of finite element method and find the critical parameters, its effect also as sensitivity and volume. Response surface methodology is used for experimental set up. For performance of all parameters analysis of variance is carried out and multi-objective optimization is also performed.

Abstract Research on the potential fishing ground for demersal fishing is a way to determine the areas that have the potential for fishing activities. Potential fishing ground mapping can be done by observing the dynamics of oceanographic parameters. The use of satellite imagery helps in providing oceanographic data in order to study the variability of oceanographic parameter. The aim of the study was to analyse the relationship between oceanographic parameter and demersal fish catch in order to validate potential fishing grounds for demersal fish. This research has been conducted in the waters of the Riau islands. Field observations and data collection including surveys of fishing grounds and identification of fish catches were carried out during March to August 2020. To support the analysis, Aqua-Modis Level-3 satellite data was used to observe the oceanographic variations. The data used in the analysis consisted of fishing grounds coordinate information, catches, sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a, water depth, and salinity. The results showed that during the period 2010-2020, oceanographic dynamics did not experience significant changes or tended to be stable. Most of the research areas indicated appropriate categories for fishing activities based on the research parameters analysis. The correlation of the research parameters described a significant effect on fishing activities.

Seagrass as a flowering plant can live from muddy substrates to coral fractures. Differences in the characteristics of substrate type, nutrient content and aquatic environmental conditions can affect morphometric seagrass. The purpose of the study was to analyze environmental conditions and nutrient content as well as the morphometric characteristics of T. hemprichii seagrass based on differences in substrate type. This study was conducted in the waters of Tanjung Tiram Coastal, Poka from February-April 2021. Seagrass sampling was using the purposive sampling method. Data analysis was conducted using ANOVA with SPSS. The results of environmental parameters analysis showed that the water conditions of Tanjung Tiram, Poka are still at the tolerance limit intended for seagrass life. The substrate consists of sand substrate, gravel mixed sand substrate and mud substrate. The results of ANOVA showed that there was a significant difference in the content of sedimentary nutrients, especially phosphates in each substrate type and there was a significant difference in morphometric seagrass based on differences in substrate type and nutrient content.   ABSTRAK Lamun sebagai tumbuhan berbunga dapat hidup mulai dari substrat berlumpur sampai dengan patahan karang. Perbedaan karakteristik jenis substrat, kandungan nutrien dan kondisi lingkungan perairan dapat mempengaruhi morfometrik lamun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kondisi lingkungan dan kandungan nutrien serta karakteristik morfometrik lamun T. hemprichii berdasarkan perbedaan tipe substrat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Perairan Pantai Tanjung Tiram, Poka pada Bulan Februari-April 2021. Pengambilan sampel lamun menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA dengan SPSS. Hasil analisis parameter lingkungan, menunjukan bahwa kondisi perairan Tanjung Tiram, Poka masih berada pada batas toleransi yang diperuntukan untuk kehidupan lamun. Substrat terdiri dari substrat pasir, pasir campur kerikil dan lumpur. Hasil anova menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kandungan nutrien sedimen khususnya fosfat secara signifikan pada masing masing tipe substrat dan terdapat perbedaan morfometrik lamun secara signifikan berdasarkan perbedaan tipe substrat dan kandungan nutrien. Kata Kunci: morfometrik, nutrien, substrat, Tanjung Tiram, Thalassia hemprichii

Abstract Groundwater availability; quality and quantity are important parameters for human development in terms of drinking, agriculture and industry in semi arid regions. The study of the groundwater quality of Bordjias Plain, located in the semi-arid south-western region of the Mostaganem Plateauin Algeria, is an essential parameter for the good health of the population. Chemical parameters analysis (pH, conductivity, Ca2+, Mg2+, TH, Na+, K+, HCO3−, Cl−, SO42−, NO3− PO43−, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, V) was carried out on water samples in different localities of the plain of Bordjias. Characterization of groundwater samples according to the basic exchange index and hydrochemical parameters results show a mixed chemical composition. Samples were evaluated for various uses (consumption and household use, irrigation and industry) according to WHO standards, sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and saturation index (SI). The results show that Bordjia plain groundwater is of good quality for domestic use and irrigation but not for industrial uses.
