This paper presents a novel cognitive diagnostic module which is incorporated in e-learning software for the tutoring of the markup language HTML. The system is responsible for detecting the learners’ cognitive bugs and delivering personalized guidance. The novelty of this approach is that it is based on the Repair theory that incorporates additional features, such as student negligence and test completion times, in its diagnostic mechanism; also, it employs a recommender module that suggests students optimal learning paths based on their misconceptions using descriptive test feedback and adaptability of learning content. Considering the Repair theory, the diagnostic mechanism uses a library of error correction rules to explain the cause of errors observed by the student during the assessment. This library covers common errors, creating a hypothesis space in that way. Therefore, the test items are expanded, so that they belong to the hypothesis space. Both the system and the cognitive diagnostic tool were evaluated with promising results, showing that they offer a personalized experience to learners.

In the last few decades, there has been a significant increase in interest in developing, constructing, and using structural health monitoring (SHM) systems. The classic monitoring system should, by definition, have, in addition to the diagnostic module, a module responsible for monitoring loads. These loads can be measured with piezoelectric force sensors or indirectly with strain gauges such as resistance strain gauges or FBG sensors. However, this is not always feasible due to how the force is applied or because sensors cannot be mounted. Therefore, methods for identifying excitation forces based on response measurements are often used. This approach is usually cheaper and easier to implement from the measurement side. However, in this approach, it is necessary to use a network of response sensors, whose installation and wiring can cause technological difficulties and modify the results for slender constructions. Moreover, many load identification methods require the use of multiple sensors to identify a single force history. Increasing the number of sensors recording responses improves the numerical conditioning of the method. The proposed article presents the use of contactless measurements carried out with the help of a high-speed camera to identify the forces exiting the object.

Development of technical base, software, accumulated information on the diagnosis of the respiratory system provided the prerequisites for creating remote diagnostics of the human respiratory system through auscultation. The known methods do not solve the problem of determining auscultation points at patent´s housing without a diagnostic specialist. The purpose of this study is to develop a method for remote diagnostics of the respiratory system which provides ability to determine the points of auscultation without presence of a diagnostic specialist. The definition of auscultation points is provided using a computer program that allows to calculate the points´ coordinates based on the coordinates of points that determine the anatomical structure of the patient's torso. The patient or his assistant places the recording device at the auscultation points combining their images on the display with the image of the location of the recording device. The signal recorded at the auscultation point is remotely transmitted to a specialist for direct analysis and/or computer processing. The diagnostic module consists of two main units. The first unit contains a stethoscope, microphone, and amplifier connected to a mobile phone or other similar device containing an accelerometer. The patient or his assistant at the housing uses the unit. The second unit is a mobile phone with a mechanical marker or a computer with the ability to access the network in conjunction with the necessary software and is used remotely by a diagnostic specialist. The layout of the unit for recording and transmitting breath sounds was made. To avoid discrepancies in the diagnostic results the technical characteristics of the module elements must be normalized. Unified software is required for the module to function. The organizational tasks that need to be solved for the implementation of diagnostics are formulated.Use of the method of remote diagnostics of the respiratory system, providing the ability to determine points of auscultation without the direct presence of a diagnostic specialist and the module will allow increasing efficiency of treatment of pulmonary diseases reduce infection risks and economic costs.

A framework for integrated diagnostic reasoning to detect and isolate faults in complex aircraft systems, at the vehicle level, is proposed. A Digital Twin emulating the functions of an aircraft’s selected subsystems is to be developed; this will include their input/output parameters connecting to other systems, for simulating the subsystem level interactions. The failure propagation across subsystems will be observed by injecting different faults. A diagnostic module for each subsystem will detect and isolate faults. This will be complemented by an integrated reasoner at the vehicle level which will isolate the root cause of propagated faults. On successful completion, the fully developed integrated reasoner shall distinguish an effect (for example, engine power reduction in B777 (Sleight and Carter, 2014)) from its root cause (blocked Fuel Oil Heat Exchanger (Sleight and Carter, 2014)), yielding maintenance savings and increasing dispatch reliability.

The research examines selected issues of application of psycho-diagnostic instruments in the scope of the interface software is professional polygraph «Diana». Analyzing domestic and foreign concepts of the possible behavior of the examened persons in terms of the psychophysiological research using the polygraph device, the authors note the necessity of using computer psycho-diagnostics in order to achieve more reliable test results on a polygraph. The necessity of using of operative psychodiagnostic tests, which are characterized by their complexity, in the process of polygraph testing is substantiated. The paper presents examples from own research based on the diagnostic module of the program shell and reveals the most important components of the personality of the subjects. The article investigates the possibility of identifying important psychological qualities of the person examined, which contributes to the solution of specific problems of polygraph testing. The results of the study are aimed at improving the procedure of psychophysiological research using polygraph.

The article provides options for threading process diagnostics. For the previously proposed method of diagnostics, an algorithm for adjusting the machine, equipped with a pneumatic drive and a diagnostic module was developed. The interrelation between the technological system characteristics and the device for diagnostic signal recording was shown. As a result, it is possible to provide maximum productivity of the technological operation without the loss of processing quality.
