Abstract By taking the perspective of Social Constructivism and the Discourse-Historical Approach, and using the corpus linguistic tool Wmatrix, this study compares the discursive strategies adopted by Chinese and American banks in their construction of corporate identities. The research underlines the shared and unique features presented in prominent themes, communication strategies and lexical patterns. It is found that Chinese banks prefer to emphasise their historical development, industrial ranking and organisational structure to positively construct their identity as industry leaders, adopting a corporate ability strategy through the frequent usage of numbers and superlative adjectives. However, American banks tend to stress care for their employees, communities and environment. They prefer to use a corporate responsibility strategy to build their identity as social contributors through the frequent usage of performative verbs to exhibit specific corporate activities. This study may have practical implications for Chinese companies wishing to improve their international communication capability and may offer educational implications for Business English teaching.

Good communication capability is crucial for the effectiveness of health promotion. This study aims to examine the relationship between message source (expertise and attractiveness) and content (informativeness and entertainment) on the equity of health promotion. The empirical data were collected through a survey in Tangerang, Indonesia. The number of samples were 178 respondents. Multiple regressions analysis was performed to test the conceptual model and the proposed hypotheses. The findings showed that the equity of health promotion was influenced by expertise, attractiveness, and entertainment, while informativeness did not affect the equity of health promotion significantly.

Abstract With the advancement of vehicle’s traffic information processing and communication capability in Internet of Vehicle (IoV) network widely used for the vehicle-to- infrastructure transportation communication. Firstly, the protection of the user’s (vehicles) privacy at the time of information sharing and secondly, users lack the motivation to share the traffic information with roadside units (RSUs) are two major concerns in the IoV networks. In this regard, we propose a novel adaptive neuro-fuzzy based payment using blockchain (ANFPB) transportation communication scheme that not only motivates users to take participate in the information sharing problems with the payment mechanism but also allows users to anonymously share the traffic information with RSU in the IoV network. Meanwhile, a smart contract is presented to generate pseudonyms to share the traffic information anonymously in a non-trustful IoV network. Also, an algorithm ANFPB is presented for the evaluation of payment based on location, timeline, and quality of information shared by the vehicles. Finally, the extensive simulation analysis shows that the proposed ANFPB is more efficient in terms of preserving privacy and computational costs as compared to state-of-the-art schemes.

AbstractLoRa, due to its advantage of long-range communication capability, is promising for Internet of Things (IoT) and space-air-ground communications. However, the conventional MAC protocol used with LoRa is classified as an Aloha-based algorithm, which leads to drastic decrease in throughput when a huge amount of end-devices try to access the network. To achieve stable and high throughput of LoRa, we propose a design to combine the distributed queueing (DQ) and in-band-full-duplex (IBFD) technologies. The usage of DQ mechanism is benefit for fast collision resolution, while the IBFD-enabled gateway helps to reduce the heavy control overhead of DQ. The designs of access procedure and frame structure are discussed in detail. The outage probability and average throughput are evaluated under imperfect self-interference cancelation. Also, a mathematical programming method is developed to optimize the spreading factor and code rate. Numerical results show that our proposal gains an extra enhancement of 1.83-fold in throughput.

Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks is effective and intelligent utilization of energy for routing protocol in longer network lifetime. Energy Consumption and load balancing are the vital roles for a network lifetime. The use of load balancing in WSN is granted as the best resource of sink mobility which protects energy sources to organize. The aim of this paper is to evaluate various deployed strategies involving sink mobility. Multiple mobile sinks are capable of performing computational operations like collecting information from electric joints instantly, storage, and also communication capability. It evaluates the results and the effect of sink mobility by comparing with another routing protocol GEDAR.

Kinerja UMKM menjadi pusat perhatian hampir di setiap pemerintahan. Hal ini didasarkan pada tingginya kontribusi UMKM terhadap perekonomian suatu daerah. Namun tidak dapat dipungkiri UMKM masih saja memiliki kelemahan yang perlu terus diperbaiki, sehingga dapat mempertahankan usahanya secara berkelanjutan. Kapabilitas organisasi sebagai sumber daya perusahaan menjadi faktor pendorong kinerja UMKM. Penelitian ini menggunakan dasar teori Resource Based Viewuntuk meneliti tentang kinerja UMKM melalui market communication capability, pricing capability dan product innovation capability. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner menggunakan media google form. Jumlah jawaban responden yang dapat dianalisis yaitu 85 responden. Hasil analisis data menggunakan SmartPLS yaitu product innovation capabilitydan pricing capabilityberpengaruh signifikan postitif pada performance dan berpengaruh signifikan positif juga ketika memediasi pengaruh market communication capabilityterhadap performance, namun hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwasanya market communication capabilitytidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan postitif terhadap performance.
