Dostoevsky’s name is already linked to an almost equal number of myths concerning his works, as his life. This fact does not, however, take away from his resplendence, since the true dimension of his great works is still revealing its secrets and meanings. Focused in many of his masterpieces on the paternal figure (manifestly projected or, sometimes, expressed in a latent register), the writer remains captive to his own abyss, from which he derives his creativity, undoubtedly distilling his torment – a torment, it seems, he experienced constantly throughout his life. The symbolic weaving of his work reveals a true thematic network in which the image of the father dominates akin to a god – usually an indifferent and absent one.

In this paper, we study the behavior of the true dimension of the subfield subcodes of Hermitian codes. Our motivation is to use these classes of linear codes to improve the parameters of the McEliece cryptosystem, suchas key size and security level. The McEliece scheme is one of the promising alternative cryptographic schemes to the current public key schemes since in the last four decades, they resisted all known quantum computing attacks. By computing and analyzing a data collection of true dimensions of subfield subcodes, we concluded that they can be estimated by the extreme value distribution function.

The systematic organization of Maxym Rylskyi’s sonnet verse is characterized by the dynamics of figurative creation, which begins in the first quatrain and, as a rule, preserves the “rise line” in the second quatrain in order to echo the synthesis in the final thirds. Thus, in the sonnet «The ax trembles, the silver darkened” two lines ─ the trembling sedge, which rises high with the darkened silver leaf, and the benefit of the green shadow from it for the weary, aching human body ─ in the first quatrain they seem to run in parallel. However, already in the second quatrain, probably, from the same trembling ax the appeal of the lyrical hero to the heart sprouts (Tremble, develop and wormwood!). The synthesis-generalization initiated by the replica of the heart (internal monologue) continues the associative parallel of nature and man in the first third (On the branch of universal wood. You are only a particle, line one!) ─ both semantic lines marked at the beginning of the poem are now merged the only one. And finally the final concluding stanza ─ the assertion of this unity ─ earthly and high, when the only true dimension is the integrity of depth. Another structural organization is observed in the sonnet «In the warm days of grape harvest”, where the first stanza of the exposition reveals to the reader a lyrical location, which in the second quatrain unfolds in the dialogue of lyrical characters and is continued in the castle stanza by a generalizing line. , thus creating the overall compositional and artistic integrity of the poetic structure. In a number of texts the poet broadly reflects the idea of internal conflict at the junction of two quatrains, proclaimed at one time in the program sonnet of Ivan Franko, although the antithetical break can occur not only at the border of the first and second quatrains. the first part is an adverb yet). The whole sonnet is based on the features of such correlates. The textual permeability of repeating elements at different levels contributes to the dynamization of the artistic structure. In verse «Bring gifts to the gods! Transparent honey bear ”repetition with an anaphoric conjunction and in each stanza (used more than ten times in the text) grows into a gradation of syntagms in the final stanzas.

ABSTRACT Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum herbicide used for weed control in crops of agricultural interest. This herbicide causes the death of the target by affecting their ability to synthesize proteins essential for survival. The activity of the 5-enolpiruvilshikimato-3-phosphate synthase enzyme, which is part of the metabolic pathway for production of aromatic amino acids, is inhibited by the glyphosate that behaves as an analogue of the second substrate (phosphoenolpyruvate). There is evidence that indicate glyphosate (and its formulations) produce oxidative stress in cyanobacteria, microalgae and no-target higher plants. However, the true dimension of the magnitude of the oxidative effect generated by the exposure is still a matter of discussion. The objective of the present study is to summarize the available information on the metabolism and the involvement of oxidative stress in the toxicity of glyphosate on biological systems. Increasing the awareness of the environmental risks generated by the use of glyphosate will help to avoid unrecoverable damage to both, plants and animals during herbicide handling.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to consolidate existing knowledge and provide a deeper understanding of e-government research for assisting researchers in the development of their future analyses, identifying trends of research and the methodology used. Design/methodology/approach – A bibliometric approach has been used to examine e-government research in periodical publications listed in ISI in the field of information science and library science during the period 2000-2014. Findings – The authors found that although e-participation research has increased in the last years, future research should focus on accessibility policies, and on the motives, capabilities and perceptions of disabled and older people to take advantage of e-government initiatives to be involved in the social affairs. Practical implications – The study has shown the need to carry out further research into e-participation in order to understand the true dimension of social networks and their involvement in e-democracy. Also, it is highlighted the need for the design and evaluation of tools for automation of the services and to enable citizens to vote in local initiatives. Originality/value – This historical assessment allows identification of significant insights and trends related to e-government, and patterns in the published articles and develops a cohesive and comprehensive research agenda to guide researchers worldwide in their quest for a better understanding of e-government.

Shari’ah is the heart of Islam because it handles the most fundamental aspects of the religion. Ironically however, Shari’ah is the most misunderstood dimension of Islam. What we currently believe as Shari’ah may not be Shari’ah. And the reverse may be true that what we consider as non-Shari’ah, may in fact be Shari’ah. It is here that reconstructing our understanding concerning the true meaning of Shari’ah becomes a matter of necessity. Having this in mind, we are interested in elaborating the critical views of al-Ashmawi on the notion of Shari’ah hoping that this will help us to discover the missing –and yet the true- dimension of Shari’ah. Al-Ashmawi on the whole, is critical against the jargon that only associates the Shari’ah with its formalization and application.

Ordinal classification is a form of multiclass classification for which there is an inherent order between the classes, but not a meaningful numeric difference between them. The performance of such classifiers is usually assessed by measures appropriate for nominal classes or for regression. Unfortunately, these do not account for the true dimension of the error. The goal of this work is to show that existing measures for evaluating ordinal classification models suffer from a number of important shortcomings. For this reason, we propose an alternative measure defined directly in the confusion matrix. An error coefficient appropriate for ordinal data should capture how much the result diverges from the ideal prediction and how "inconsistent" the classifier is in regard to the relative order of the classes. The proposed coefficient results from the observation that the performance yielded by the Misclassification Error Rate coefficient is the benefit of the path along the diagonal of the confusion matrix. We carry out an experimental study which confirms the usefulness of the novel metric.
