Theoretical aspects of the stability of marine ecosystems under the influence of the dynamics of hydrometeorological conditions are considered. Groups of natural factors of the ecosystems of the Baltic and White seas defining a level of stability – biocenotical, dynamic hydrological, the dynamic oceanological and corresponding to them estimated indicator indices with assessment of their information significance are justified. Rating of values of indicator indices is executed. Three versions of the integral index of assessment of stability of AISE (integrated assessment of sustainable existence) based on accounting of 6, 9 and 15 indicators indices are developed. On the basis of the received integral estimates zoning of ecosystems of the Baltic and White seas in relation to their stability is executed. Need of accounting of a level of stability of specific water areas in the course of planning and implementation of sea economic activity – navigation, dredging operations, mounting of underwater infrastructure, industrial fishing is justified.

The article deals with the types of communicative competence in different types of discourse. Communicative competence refers to the ability to predict a communicative situation in a specific area of communication which becomes important in the era of information, to manage the process of communication in a certain situational environment. Levels of language personality formation are distinguished. The concept of a psychological barrier arising in the process of communication is given. Psychological barrier refers to a condition that impedes full development and manifestation of a personality. Multilevel character of communicative competence is shown, levels of its formation are distinguished; such types as lexical, textual and discourse competence are considered. As a person enters discourse space and develops communicative competence, his emotional state changes – from negative or neutral emotions to positive emotions. The question is raised about the possibility of communicative failures caused by communication barriers arising during communication. Types of communicative barriers, their characteristics and ways to overcome them are considered; besides, barriers related to insufficient proficiency in a particular level of language (phonetic, lexical, stylistic) are considered. Among the reasons for communicative barriers are: features of communicants’ intelligence; difference in interpreting concepts; difference in vocabulary; misunderstanding of communicative situation; psychological characteristics of partners; social, political, professional, religious differences. Many of these barriers appear in modern society which overcomes specific changes in the era of information. Significance of psychological factor as well as level of formation of emotional competence to overcome emerging communicative barriers is shown.

The article considers the role of punctuation marks in delivering and perceiving the purport in fiction discourse. The core of the study is the interrelation between the punctuation arrangement of the text and its prosodic embodiment. Contemporary English fiction in both written and audio forms is exploited as the material for the investigation. The key goal of the study is to demonstrate the so-called ‘highlighting function’ of the semicolon (the stop of inner controversy) and to analyse its role in emphasising the text fragments of special prominence. Three major types of the function are discussed: bringing out particularization to follow, which appears to be vital for interpreting the purport; marking off the afterthought; bringing out the ‘effective’ conclusion - a concise and catchy phrase summing up the previous statement. The results show that in all the three contexts in which the semicolon signals the information significance, its typical prosody gets modified. Namely, the part of the sentence after the stop is largely produced in the higher section of the diapason as compared to the recommended parameter. Among other prosodic characteristics to be altered are timbre and tempo. Adding more expressivity not infrequently may enable the performer to highlight the clause to follow.

The emergence of both the conceptual movement and the autobiographical discourse in the artistic sphere towards theend of the sixties of the last century, entailed a split point that redefined the art work as information, significance, language and archive. In this context, the aim of this paper is to analyse the maternity as a trope that, historically, has articulated feminine reality through one brach of Tracey Emin´s artwork related to the construction of a ghostly archive about her pregnancies, her abortions and her unborned children. Thus, from an analytical, sociological and gender critical approach, this paper ig going to analyze the perversión of the archive, memory and autobiography carried out by a ghostly narration, anchored between life and death that, paradoxically, for the artist will constitute the only way through which she can tolerate her traumatic reality.

The national document flow in the area of information safety is analyzed based on the Russian Science Citation Index database for 1993–2017. Its volume makes over 18,000 entries including up to 59% articles and conference proceeding (28%). The flow dynamics demonstrates its annual growth – it is ahead of other science information flows in the number of documents. The dispersion of publications in periodicals in 2016 is characterized; the dependence of the information flow completeness from the number of sources is considered. The findings of microflow study have proved the provision of S. Bradford’s law of the periodicals division into three zones. The “core” comprises 52 journals, primarily in the related sectors rather than those specializing in the mentioned area which evidences on the vibrant interdisciplinary character of the problem. The authors characterize information significance of the most productive journals using such indicators as the 2-year impact-factor and the number of article loads. It was found that the impact-factor as a criteria of journal influence was in the range 0.040–1.435, while the number of loads was from 252 to 56,041. The accessibility of the “core” journals in the RSCI as related to the availability of full texts and the open access and their coverage by RSCI, WoS and Scopus databases are discussed.

Article describes electromyographic studies as an important part in the structure of diagnostics and orthopedic dental treatment of patients with increased erasure of teeth. The results of the correlations between elecrocromyography revealed strong reliable connections during the work of the actual chewing and temporal muscles on the right and left. It is confirmed that muscle dysfunction does not occur in the area of only one isolated group, but involves muscles on both sides and often depends on the parafunctional habits of the patient and the use of one side or another during chewing.

The article deals with the origin, content and various interpretations of the concept of “tourist attraction”. The emergence of the term (in the form of word formation “memorability”) was associated with the appearance of the first Russian guidebooks at the end of the 18th century. The tourist attractions are considered as a kind of tourism resource used to organize educational and other tours and excursions. The article attempts to prove that not only cultural and historical objects can serve as tourist attractions, but also natural objects, and in some cases, processes and phenomena. Natural and cultural-historical objects and phenomena become tourist attractions when they are involved in tourism production activities. Often, the tourism business “constructs” the tourist attractions even in the absence of a recreational resource. The properties of the tourist attraction are a clear geographical reference, attractiveness, information significance, involvement in tourism and recreational activities. Thus, tourist attraction is a tourist-recreational resource, which is localized in space, has a structure, attractiveness, hierarchy, information significance and is involved in tourism production activities.
