Dyslipidemia is a major risk factor for atheroscler heart disease, stroke, and is often defined as abnormalities or disruption of lipid metabolism. Garcinia mangostana L. is famous for its anti-inflammatory properties and is used in the treatment of skin infections and wounds. The main phytochemicals present in this species are anisoprenylated xanthone, many reports of biological effects, such as antioxidant, pro-apoptosis, anti-proliferative, anti-nosiseptif, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, hypoglycemic, and anti-obesity. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of mangosteen peel ethanol extract as an anti-dyslipidemia in male wistar rats given a high-fat diet. This type of research is experimental with a Pre-test approach and Post-test group only control design. The samples used were mangosteen peel ethanol extract and male wistar rats, with the size of the sample calculated with Federer's formula. Analyze data with the One-Way Anova Test if the data is normally distributed with advanced tests in the form of Post Hoc Tukey HSD tests to see real differences between treatments. The results of the total cholesterol study in the entire treatment group of mice showed a significant difference in P values < 0.05. Triglyceride levels in the entire treatment group also showed significant differences, this can be seen from the value of P < 0.05 (Value P = 0.029). LDL levels also showed significant differences across the treatment group, which can be seen from the P value of < 0.05. HDL levels make a significant difference in the value of P < 0.05 (Value P = 0.029). SGOT and SGPT levels in the entire group of rat treatment showed significant differences, this was seen from the value of P < 0.05. The conclusion that mangosteen peel ethanol extract significantly lowered total cholesterol, triglyceride levels, LDL levels, SGOT levels compared to the control group. Mangosteen peel ethanol extract can significantly increase HDL levels compared to the control group.

Background: To facilitate early postoperative recovery of surgical patients, various efforts have been made to develop effective treatment methods since 1990; moreover, these efforts have not been limited to surgical techniques and include multiple aspects of the entire treatment process. Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) is a surgical quality improvement project that has advanced substantially since it was first introduced in 1995 and has now been firmly established in the field of perioperative care.Current Concepts: ERAS consists of many components that cover each stage before, during, and after surgery, and its clinical application changes according to the results of evidence-based research for each item. To date, more than 20 ERAS guidelines have been created for each disease, and more guidelines are expected in the future. Many studies have reported that ERAS is associated with meaningful improvements in clinical outcomes and reductions of medical costs in many surgical fields.Discussion and Conclusion: ERAS remains a work in progress, and continuous research and improvement is needed in relation to the components, areas of application, audit of compliance and results, education, and a multidisciplinary approach.

Grlssner (Wiener kl Woch .. 1921, No. 47) warmly recommends for this purpose a 0.2-0.4% solution of caustic soda with aq. menthae piperitae, 50 timing. every 2 hours, with the entire treatment lasting from 2 to 3 months. Caustic alkali has a threefold effect on the stomach wall: 1) neutralizing, 2) destroying enzymes and 3) cauterizing. It is tolerated by patients very well and usually gives a quick effect in the sense of the disappearance of pain and other subjective disorders.

Introduction: The elderly are often affected by hip fractures. A trochanteric fracture is defined as when the fracture fissure is between the capsule and 3 cm below the lesser trochanter. The most common cause of these fractures is osteoporosis in the elderly. Treatment of a trochanteric fracture may be operative or conservative. The aim of this study was to define a plan of physiotherapeutic treatment in a patient after fixation of a trochanteric fracture with an intramedullary nail.Materials and methods: The work was written based on the medical history of a patient with a trochanteric fracture. The entire treatment procedure was carried out at the Department of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Oncology of the Musculoskeletal System, located at Unii Lubelskiej 1 in Szczecin. Results: Rehabilitation is an indispensable element in the treatment process of patients after a trochanteric fracture. It is implemented already from 1 day after the surgery in order to activate the patient as soon as possible. Such a procedure is to ensure faster activation of the patient and to avoid adverse changes resulting from too long immobilization. Conclusion: Rehabilitation is an indispensable element in the treatment of patients after a trochanteric fracture. Early patient activation reduces the risk of postoperative complications.

Materials and methods: The work was written based on the medical history of a patient diagnosed with multiple myeloma in the proximal part of the right femur. The entire treatment procedure was carried out at the Department of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Oncology of the Musculoskeletal System, located at Unii Lubelskiej 1 in Szczecin. Results: Rehabilitation in the treatment process of patients after resection of the tumor in the proximal part of the femur and arthroplasty is implemented as early as 1 day after the surgery in order to activate the patient as soon as possible. The rehabilitation program was as individualized as possible to the patient and included modern techniques such as osteopathy and manulana therapy.Wniosek: Rehabilitacja jest nieodzownym elementem leczenia chorych na nowotwory. Wprowadzenie do rehabilitacji nowoczesnych technik wpływa pozytywnie na skuteczność terapii. Wczesne rozpoczęcie rehabilitacji przynosi wymierne korzyści w trakcie leczenia i powrót pacjenta do aktywnego udziału w życiu społecznym.

Temporo-mandibular joint disorder, also known as temporo-mandibular disorder, or simply TMD is a major taxing condition for the children or the adolescent. It not only elicits physical pain and discomfort but also has a very deep psychological impact on the child. But is the surgical treatment any less frustrating and nerve wrecking? The answer is ruefully no. But yes, the entire treatment can be less traumatic to the patient. Here we put forward the various treatment options for TMDs besides surgery.

Glaucoma is a socially significant disease and ranks first among the causes of visual impairment and blindness. Glaucoma is a chronic disease with progressive course, and the entire treatment and diagnostic process is associated with the need for constant monitoring of the structural and functional components of the visual system to assess the progression of glaucomatous optic neuropathy. With adequately chosen treatment tactics, it is possible to stabilize the glaucomatous process and successfully reverse the structural and functional changes thanks to the links between functional defects of the visual fields and topographic damage in the optic nerve with the stage of the disease. This statement emphasizes the need to choose the correct treatment tactics, as well as to closely monitor the structural and functional characteristics of patients with glaucoma. In this regard, the issue of studying the safety and effectiveness of various glaucoma surgeries depending on observation time remains relevant.

Low back ache is the pain in the lumbo-sacral region triggered by combination of factors like muscle strain, overuse, injury or trauma to muscles, ligaments and disc that support the spine. A diagnosed case of Low back ache came with complaints of pain over low back region, stiffness and limitation in the movements of lumbo-sacral joint since 2 years. There was no history of trauma or fall and other systemic illness. A positive family history was noted. In Ayurveda, it can be correlated with Asthigata vata and deranged Vata dosha is the main cause for pain. The primordial treatment for Vata dushti is Basti, especially Anuvasana vasti. Ketakyadi taila is very effective in Asthigata vata. So Anuvasana Basti with Ketakyadi tailam is administered continuous 9 days. The clinical symptoms like low back pain and stiffness got relieved markedly on 5th day itself. After the entire treatment the condition of the patient improved remarkably.

3610 Background: Chronic lower grade adverse events (AE) can negatively affect a patient’s quality of life but it is difficult to capture using a traditional toxicity reporting approach. A novel AE reporting method was recently developed to describe, summarize, and present longitudinal AE profiles(Lopes et al, 2021). We leveraged this method to describe and compare the AE profiles of doublet chemotherapy (DC) + Cetuximab and DC alone in mCRC patients. Methods: This AE reporting method utilizes two additional AE metrics to complement the maximum (max) toxicity grade usually reported in clinical trials. Onset time indicates the time period in which max grade for an AE occurred for the first time, defined here as “early” (i.e. within first 42 days) and “late” (i.e. after the 42nd day). AE Load (AEL) indicates the overall severity of an AE in the entire treatment. AEL varies from 0 to 1. Higher AEL indicates a worse overall severity of that AE over time. AEL is the key metric for describing chronic AE. We included patients receiving DC + cetuximab (n = 738) and DC alone (n = 564 [ref group]) from two randomized first-line trials in the ARCAD database. Diarrhea, rash, hand-foot syndrome (HFS), fatigue, anorexia, and mucositis were examined and adjusted for backbone (FOLFOX vs. FOLFIRI), ECOG PS, sex, site location, dose reduction, and treatment length. Results: For rash, DC + cetuximab had a higher risk of G3+ (21% vs. 0.5%; odds ratio {OR} [95% confidence interval {CI}] = 50 [16,157], p < 0.001), increased overall severity over the entire treatment (AEL = 0.257 vs. 0.069; Adjusted difference in means–Mdiff [95% CI] = 0.22 [0.21,0.23], p < 0.001), and increased risk of early onset (67% vs. 33%; OR [95% CI] = 4.3 [2.7,6.7], p < 0.001). DC + cetuximab also had higher AEL for rash across max grades (p < 0.001 within G1, G2, and G3+). For HFS, DC + cetuximab had a higher risk of G3+ (OR [95% CI] = 6.0 [2.5,14], p < 0.001), increased overall severity (AEL = 0.139 vs. 0.087; Mdiff [95% CI] = 0.03 [0.03,0.04], p < 0.001), and slightly earlier onset (12.4 vs. 13.9 weeks; Mdiff, weeks [95% CI] = -4.9 [-0.80,-9.0], p = 0.021). Within each max grade, DC + cetuximab did not have higher AEL of HFS. No associations were found for diarrhea, fatigue, anorexia, or mucositis. Conclusions: The addition of cetuximab is associated with higher grade, more persistent, and more immediate rash. The higher severity in HFS with the addition of cetuximab appears to be related to higher grade but not chronic HFS. This method may be useful to describe different strategies, e.g. intermittent cetuximab. It provided a comprehensive view of acute and chronic toxicity profiles supporting its potential interest as new metrics in clinical trials. Lopes GS, Tournigand C, Olswold CL, et al. Adverse event load, onset, and maximum grade: A novel method of reporting adverse events in cancer clinical trials. Clinical Trials. 2021;18(1):51-60
