BACKGROUND: Society participation in the mandatory basic immunization program has declined in the last 2 years in Indonesia. One of the causes is the widespread of anti-vaccine issue, which has recently been debated on social media. This study aimed to explore the perspectives, backgrounds, experiences, and aspects that underlie the mother’s confidence in anti-vaccine and pro-vaccine groups who join the Facebook social media forum. METHODS: A phenomenology qualitative design was undertaken. The data were collected from June to August 2020. We conducted in-depth structured interviews with 5 anti-vaccine participants and 5 pro-vaccine participants. We obtained saturation data with ten participants. The data managed by NVIVO 12 software and analyzed using the thematic analysis method. RESULTS: We obtained 4 themes, including social media values, perceptions of immunization, immunization barriers, and knowledge about immunization. Anti-vaccine parents were firm not to immunize their children even though they knew the purpose of immunization and were perceived that there were no barriers to taking immunization. Pro-vaccine parents were determined to take basic immunization despite experiencing various barriers. CONCLUSION: This study showed that social media, perceptions, knowledge, and barrier about immunization affect mothers in considering the decision to give immunization to their children. Nurses and other healthcare workers should be provided positive communication and mutual trust between parents and health services are required to develop parental vaccine confidence so that basic immunization coverage can increase.

This paper argues that through an engagement with cross-media hybridity, Irish comedy duo The Rubberbandits have established a dynamic cross-media forum that aims to restore the Irish public’s capacity for critical social and political engagement. Central to this process is The Rubberbandits’ ability to use their absurdist satire as a foundational tool that can serve as the basis of this cultural forum, while also facilitating the negotiation of social and political issues across a variety of media. Given that this cultural forum exists across different media, platforms, and formats, this paper sets out to analyse the various ways in which the duo have adapted their satirical style to suit the demands of these different media forms, and what implications this process of adaption has had on their work. Beginning with an analysis of the social and critical functions of satirical comedy more broadly, this paper will then focus on the specific brand of satirical social commentary employed by The Rubberbandits, paying particular attention to the role of absurdity in their critical engagement with prominent issues facing Irish society. As this paper will demonstrate, by embracing the hybridity of the cross-media environment, all the while maintaining their absurdist satirical style, The Rubberbandits have established a dynamic and carnivalesque cross-media forum that aims to restore the Irish public’s capacity for critical social and political engagement.

The social media forum is a new way to change the face value of commercial products and services. We can say that it is a new door or door to enter this door over time, connect people from all over the world, and not spend a lot of money. You can create a fan page portal to promote your business through commodity communication skills, good strategy, and marketing. You can reach the place where you set the target. The primary reason for this examination is to contemplate the connection between informal organizations and the development of a business person. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire of 250 respondents. Four elements—Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, and Twitter—were tested to see the relationship of social networks and entrepreneur growth. The results show the impact of Google, LinkedIn, and Twitter on companies, but Facebook has no impact on entrepreneurs.

Purpose The UK private housebuilding sector is the key supplier of new-build homes for customers, constituting a fifth of the entire UK construction industry. Yet, despite the high average cost of houses, and official reports advocating improvement, the sector remains blighted by criticism and a negative image of its quality. However, social media now offers customers new sources of advice and information. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to analyse social media forum posts from new-build homebuyers to reveal perceptions of the industry and illustrate the value of such data for others. Design/methodology/approach This paper presents and thematically analyses 147 comment posts from nine online Facebook forums under the themes of safety; standards; quality; workmanship; customer service; finance and money; advice; National House Building Council; ombudsman; and page closures. Findings Customers express frustration, anger, feelings of neglect and of an abdication of responsibility by the sector. Fundamentally, change is suggested at a systemic level, and it is urged this occurs through powerful and independent bodies. Originality/value To date, social media data has not been analysed in the context of the housebuilding sector. Yet, such data is key not only for its open and wide-reaching nature but also because it can be incorporated into government reports. It is hoped such data will be used by the new home ombudsman the UK Government hopes to establish in 2020 and help rectify many of the performance issues experienced and protect homebuyers.

In recent years, the utilization of Internet has turned out to be one of the everyday activities in our life. Social networks constitute a noteworthy segment of the Web and made an upheaval. It incorporates social media, forum conversations, blogs and micro-blogs like twitter. Due to this, large numbers of comments are produced on daily basis. So, nowadays most of the researchers or analyzers are concentrating on extracting significant data from social networks in order to understand the public viewpoint. This research has been reached out outside the computer science to cover other areas like business, political and social science. Hence, Sentiment analysis and Opinion mining are popular field of research in Data mining. This paper delineates various aspects of sentiment analysis in detail inclusive of important concepts, classification, process, importance, challenges and applications. The following paper presents experiment on sentiment analysis of public opinion on demonetization in India. Sentiment analysis is performed on tweets related to demonetization in India extracted from twitter. Polarity of the opinion is observed through the experimental analysis. Through the outcome of this analysis, the sentiments of the citizens that are determined help the government in improving their decisions and work for the welfare of the citizens.

Background Loneliness has become a public health problem described as an epidemic, and it has been argued that digital behavior such as social media posting affects loneliness. Objective The aim of this study is to expand knowledge of the determinants of loneliness by investigating online postings in a social media forum devoted to loneliness. Specifically, this study aims to analyze the temporal trends in loneliness and their associations with topics of interest, especially with those related to mental health determinants. Methods We collected a total of 19,668 postings from 11,054 users in the loneliness forum on Reddit. We asked seven crowdsourced workers to imagine themselves as writing 1 of 236 randomly chosen posts and to answer the short-form UCLA Loneliness Scale. After showing that these postings could provide an assessment of loneliness, we built a predictive model for loneliness scores based on the posts’ text and applied it to all collected postings. We then analyzed trends in loneliness postings over time and their correlations with other topics of interest related to mental health determinants. Results We found that crowdsourced workers can estimate loneliness (interclass correlation=0.19) and that predictive models are correlated with reported loneliness scores (Pearson r=0.38). Our results show that increases in loneliness are strongly associated with postings to a suicidality-related forum (hazard ratio 1.19) and to forums associated with other detrimental behaviors such as depression and illicit drug use. Clustering demonstrates that people who are lonely come from diverse demographics and from a variety of interests. Conclusions The results demonstrate that it is possible for unrelated individuals to assess people’s social media postings for loneliness. Moreover, our findings show the multidimensional nature of online loneliness and its correlated behaviors. Our study shows the advantages of studying a hard-to-reach population through social media and suggests new directions for future studies.
