Recently, environmental problems due to livestock odor have emerged in Korea, and technologies to solve these problems are being developed. This study developed a livestock odor monitoring system using ICT technology and an ammonia sensor. This system consists of a sensor, communication equipment, server, database management system (DBMS), and user operating program. The requirements for each component were presented and applied to the system. The livestock odor monitoring system is divided into Livestock Odor Management System (LOMS) and Livestock Odor Control System (LOCS). LOMS comprises a sensor that can measure ammonia in livestock farms or treatment facilities and communication equipment that transmits and receives data. LOCS consists of a server that can receive data and a program to check real-time data. This system will be used for trend analysis using livestock odor data and to plan to reduce livestock odor in the future.

One result of a warmer global climate is increased maritime activity in the Arctic. Areas that used to be covered by ice and snow are now accessible for the scientific community and commercial users. The Norwegian government has chosen tourism as a pillar of the economy of Svalbard and facilitates the development of the tourism industry. Aase and Jabour have shown that tourist vessels sail as far north as 82° N, beyond the range of geostationary satellites. The Polar Code states that appropriate communication equipment to enable telemedical assistance in polar areas shall be provided. This paper describes a series of functional telemedicine tests carried out on board the Norwegian Coast Guard vessel NoCGV Svalbard during her transit between Svalbard and the Norwegian mainland in September 2019. Communication was established between the vessel and Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, Norway, using the new Iridium NEXT constellation of communication satellites. Our tests show that medical services that require low bandwidths work.

Intelligent farming machines are becoming a new trend in modern agriculture. The intelligence and automation allow planting to become data-driven, leading to more timely and cost-effective production and management of farms and improving the quality and output of farm products. This paper presents a proposal for developing a type of intelligent tea picking machine based on active computer vision and Internet of Things (IoT) techniques. The intelligent tea picking machine possesses an active vision system for new tip positioning and can automatically implement tea picking operation in the natural environment. The active vision system provided with a cross-light path of projection and camera is designed according to the actual characteristics of picking surface, where new tips can be recognized by referring to the color factor and their height information is easily acquired by fringe projection profilometry. Furthermore, the machine attaches wireless communication equipment to transmit the real-time status of the tea picking process to an intermediary platform and eventually to the Internet for extensive data analysis. The data such as color factor and quantity of new tips collected through IoT can be used for different quality and production evaluations. The focus of this paper can promote the automation and intelligence of tea pickers and agricultural machinery.

Abstract In recent years, more and more fast-developing high and new technologies have gradually penetrated into the power grid emergency of satellite communication equipment training, and Augmented Reality (AR) technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are one of them. The power communication network is an important means to ensure the safety, stability, and economic operation of the power grid, and it is also an important infrastructure for the entire power grid. Power grid emergency training is particularly important for improving the ability to respond to emergencies. The purpose of this article is to study the application of AR technology and AI satellite communication equipment in power grid emergency training. This article first analyzes the demand for training content of power grid emergency training for satellite communication equipment training. Through questionnaire surveys and interviews with relevant experts and emergency rescue teams, it summarizes the training content suitable for the application of AR technology and AI technology for power grid emergency. Then, by introducing the key technologies of the power grid emergency training of satellite communication equipment training, the application of AR technology and AI in the power grid emergency training of satellite communication equipment training is completed. The training effect data shows that 68% think that the training can improve the motivation of training by using this technology, 74% think that the overall effect of the training is good, and 66.3% think that the skill improvement effect is good, which verifies that the technology is used in power grid emergency training. It is worth promoting.

Abstract In today’s society, communication is becoming more and more important. However, communication equipment is subjected to the vibration caused by wind in communication tower for a long time. In this paper, the inductive methods of vibration normalized spectrum for the equipment on the tower are introduced. Combined with the characteristics of communication tower, based on the current national military standards and some related papers, the random vibration environment data from communication tower can be inductive and processed. The energy distribution of the spectrum is compared with that of the European standard. The measured spectrum by induction is used in engineering tests, it also has laid a foundation for improving the reliability of the relevant equipment on the communication tower.

Abstract Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is an innovative technique that was firstly employed in Bluetooth 4.0 and is being applied in the Bluetooth 5.0 and 5.2 technologies. Bluetooth 5.0 and 5.2 technologies are now widely used in all kinds of electronic communication equipment (e.g., PCs, tablets, smartphones, wearable devices). BLE has the capacity to minimize the power consumption and equipment cost in the low-power devices, which becomes a competitive scheme among the huge number of standard wireless transmission techniques already existing in everyday life for a large number of applications. As one of the available solutions in wireless transmission, Bluetooth technology equipped with the BLE module is very suitable for developing internet of things (IoTs) technology, which is gaining more and more interest. This paper briefly introduces the modulation and encoding of the BLE standard in the physical layer (PHY). The applications of cyclic redundancy check (CRC) in BLE are then presented. Moreover, the main characteristics, including the maximum reachable range, transmission latency, and power consumption of BLE, are also introduced.

Abstract The expansion of the coverage areas of telecommunications networks poses the task of improving the quality of service for telecom operators. Currently, in the conditions of transferring employees to a remote mode of operation, the access equipment of individuals is beginning to require much more attention to failures, as well as the communication equipment of legal entities. In both cases, the unavailability of the data transmission network associated with the failure can lead to various kinds of financial and administrative liability. In this paper, we propose algorithms that underlie the developed decision support system for evaluating the operational states of data transmission system elements. The system is designed for the analysis and formation of recommendations on conducting scheduled preventive maintenance or responding to pre-emergency and emergency incidents.
