In the target localization of skywave over-the-horizon radar (OTHR), the error of the ionospheric parameters is one main error source. To reduce the error of ionospheric parameters, a method using both the information of reference sources (e.g., terrain features, ADS-B) in ground coordinates and the corresponding OTHR measurements is proposed to estimate the ionospheric parameters. Describing the ionospheric electron density profile by the quasi-parabolic model, the estimation of the ionospheric parameters is formulated as an inverse problem, and is solved by a Markov chain Monte Carlo method due to the complicated ray path equations. Simulation results show that, comparing with using the a prior value of the ionospheric parameters, using the estimated ionospheric parameters based on four airliners in OTHR coordinate registration process, the ground range RMSE of interested targets is reduced from 2.86 to 1.13 km and the corresponding improvement ratio is up to 60.39%. This illustrates that the proposed method using reference sources is able to significantly improve the accuracy of target localization.

Purpose: This study aimed at evaluating the image quality characteristics of advanced noise-optimized and traditional virtual monochromatic images compared with conventional 120-kVp images from second-generation Dual-Source CT. Materials and Methods: For spiral scans six syringes filled with diluted iodine contrast material (1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20 mg I/ml) were inserted into the test phantom and scanned with a second-generation dual-source CT in both single-energy (120-kVp) and dual-energy modes. Images set contain conventional single-energy 120-kVp, and virtual monochromatic were reconstructed with energies ranging from 40 to 190-keV in 1-keV steps. An energy-domain noise reduction algorithm was applied and the mean CT number, image noise, and iodine CNR were calculated. Results: The iodine CT number of conventional 120-kVp images compared with monochromatic of 40-, 50-, 60- and 70-keV images showed increase. The improvement ratio of image noise on Advanced Virtual Monochromatic Images (AVMIs) compared with the Traditional Virtual Monochromatic Images (TVMIs) at energies of 40-, 50-, 60, 70-keV was 52.9%, 35.7%, 8.1%, 2.1%, respectively. At AVMIs from 75- to 190-keV, the image noise value was less than conventional 120-kVp images. CNR improvement ratio at 20 mg/ml of iodinated contrast material for TVMIs and AVMIs compared to 120-kVp CT images and AVMIs compared to TVMI was 18.3% and 56.3%, 32.1% respectively. Conclusion: Both TVMIs (in energies ranging from 54 to 71-keV) and AVMIs (in energies ranging from 40 to 74-keV) represent improvement in the iodine contrast-to-noise ratio than conventional 120-kVp CT images for the same radiation dose. Also, AVMIs compared to TVMIs have been obtained considerable noise reduction and CNR improvement for low-energy virtual monochromatic images. In the present study, we show that virtual monochromatic image and its Advanced version (AVMI) may boost the dual-energy CT advantages by providing higher CNR images in the same exposure value compared to routinely acquired single-energy CT images.

Background:In rheumatoid arthritis (RA), biologics treatment is one of the effective treatment options. Usually, there is no difference in therapeutic effect regardless of which biologics is used, but the effect for joint synovitis is unknown. Recently, ultrasound (US) has played a role of sensitive imaging modality in the diagnosis and follow-up of patients with RA.Objectives:The aim of this study was to compare the improvement of US findings between TNF inhibitors and non-TNF inhibitors at first biologics in patients with RA.Methods:Fifty-four RA patients who started the first biologics from September 2016 to December 2018 were included in this longitudinal study (SPEEDY study, UMIN000028260). All the patients were performed clinical examination, blood test and US examination at baseline, 4, 12, 24, 36 and 52 weeks. A US examination was performed at the bilateral first to fifth metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints, first interphalangeal (IP) and second to fifth proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints, wrist joints (three part of radial, medial and ulnar) and first to fifth metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joints, by using HI VISION Ascendus (Hitachi Medical Corporation, Japan) with a multifrequency linear transducer (18-6 MHz). The gray scale (GS) and power Doppler (PD) findings were assessed by the semi-quantitative method (0-3). GS score and PD score (both 0-108 points) were defined as the sum of each score. The change of disease activity and US findings were compared between TNF group and non-TNF group. Results:Among 54 cases, 32 patients were used TNF inhibitor and 22 were non-TNF inhibitor. Age and duration of RA were significantly higher in the non-TNF group, and MTX dose was significantly lower in the non-TNF group. The baseline inflammatory markers tended to be higher in the non-TNF group and the disease activity was also higher in the non-TNF group. However, the US findings showed no significant difference in both GS and PD between two groups at baseline. US improvement ratio was no difference between TNF group and non-TNF group at 4, 12, 24, 36 and 52 weeks in both GS and PD score. Regardless of the type of biologics, patients with long-term disease duration tended to have poor improvement in US synovial fingings.Table 1.Baseline patient and disease characteristicsTNF (n=32)non-TNF (n=22)P valueFemale patients, n (%)21 (65.6)16 (72.7)0.767Age (years)63.5±15.471.0±9.00.030Disease duration (years)6.5±8.213.0±11.70.032CRP (mg/dl)1.8±2.53.0±3.20.170DAS28-ESR5.0±1.45.8±1.20.022GS score26.1±18.831.8±21.10.313PD score17.6±11.423.1±14.60.150Figure 1.GS and PD improvement ratio at 4, 12, 24, 36 and 52 weeksConclusion:There was no difference in the US findings improvement between patients with TNF inhibitor and non-TNF inhibitor at first biologics in patients with RA.References:[1]Grassi W, Okano T, Di Geso L, Filippucci E. Abstract Background Thrombocytopenia can rapidly improve in chronic hepatitis C (CHC) patients receiving direct-acting antiviral agents (DAA). The role of baseline (BL) thrombopoietin (TPO) in this phenomenon is unclear. Methods From June 2016 to February 2019, a total of 104 CHC patients receiving DAA, with a sustained virologic response and BL thrombocytopenia, at Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital, were enrolled in this retrospective study. Significant platelet count improvement and platelet count improvement ratio were analyzed for correlation with BL TPO. Results This cohort included 40 men (38.5%). Seventy-two (69.2%) patients had advanced fibrosis. The platelet count [median (range)] increased from 110.5 (32–149) × 103/µL at BL to 116.5 (40–196) and 118.0 (35–275) × 103/µL at end of treatment (EOT) and 12 weeks after EOT (P12), respectively, (EOT vs. BL, P < 0.001; P12 vs. BL, P < 0.001). BL TPO was positively correlated with significant platelet count improvement (P < 0.001), platelet count improvement ratio at EOT (P = 0.004), and P12 (P < 0.001). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and optimal cutoffs (pg/ml) were 0.77 (95% confidence interval, 0.67–0.86) and 120, respectively, for significant platelet count improvement prediction. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy were 88.6%, 71.7%, and 78.8%, respectively. Conclusions BL TPO level might be a useful marker for predicting significant platelet count improvement in thrombocytopenic patients after successful DAA therapy.

The paper presents the foundation solution for wind turbine in the extreme geotechnical condition. With the features of loose and foam loess and easier to settle when wet condition, it needs improving before construction. In the scope of the paper, the deep mixing soil-cement column combined of soil-cement load transfer layer for loess improvement is proposed. Additionally, the sequence of settlement prediction is described, and the two cases of column distance are 2 m and 1,5 m, the diameters of column range from 0,5 to 0,8 m are analysed. Moreover, the cement mixing ratio in loess is considered. The analytical results indicate that the settlement of wind turbine foundation is lower the the limited settlement (78,51 mm less than 80 mm) when the load transfer layer equals 1,5 m and the improvement ratio (Ac/A) of 0,145 and the cement/soil mixture ratio of 6%.

Abstract[Title: Redesign of Product Layout in Supermarket Based on Purchase Behavior used Market Basket Analysis Method] The length of time that self-service buyers search for the necessary item reduces inconvenience. If the types and quantities of  product are large enough and the locations of the  products are far apart, the shopping time will be longer. This study aims to simulate the arrangement of product sold in supermarkets by considering consumer behavior in purchased product groups based on data from shopping receipts. The method used is market basket analysis, which measures support factors from product groups and arranges  that must be placed close together based on confident value. The calculation results of Market Basket Analysis found eight pairs of product groups that should be placed close together according to the high support factor value. The closeness between product groups is then arranged according to the confident value and validated by measuring the value of the improvement ratio. The simulation of the distance that visitors must travel after the product is arranged according to the product group has a 10% reduction in distance compared to the product arrangement that does not consider product groups. Keywords: product arrangement, supermarket, Market Basket Analysis

In the present study, 24 laboratory models on soft clay treated with stone columns were carried out. The results for each case are analysed for the purpose of constructing a statistical model linking the variables studied. The experiments showed that the stress concentration and bearing capacity of soil treated with stone column increase with increasing the undrained shear strength (cu), number of columns and L/d ratio. The models represent a single stone column and a group of stone columns. The studied variables are three dependent variables, the stress concentration ratio (n), bearing capacity of soil treated with stone column (q) and the settlement improvement ratio (Sr) due to the existence of stone columns. The independent variables are six: the undrained shear strength of clay soil, with three values (6, 9 and 12 kPa), the number of stone columns (1, 2, 3 and 4 columns) and the length (L) to the diameter (D) of the stone column or (L/D) ratio in two values (6 and 8). Besides, the bearing capacity of the soil treated (q) with stone columns and the settlement improvement ratio were used in some statistical models as independents. After regression analysis, a set of equations that correlate the previous variables have been suggested. The incepted values for dependent variables are close to the laboratory results.
