This work discusses the black hole thermodynamics in a weak dynamical Anti-de Sitter spacetime, which should be described by the nonequilibrium thermodynamics, because the metric depends on the time coordinate. Taking the Vaidya-Anti-de Sitter black hole spacetime as an example, the local entropy balance equations and principle of minimum entropy generation are derived, and finally, some irreversible effects in nonequilibrium thermodynamics are studied by using the Onsager reciprocal relation.

Paul Ricœur’s recourse to the metahistorical categories, space of experience and horizon of expectation, invites an inquiry into geography’s role as the guarantor of history. The ontology of the flesh provides the first indication of how one’s body is implicated in the sense of one’s place in the world. In turn, narrative inscriptions of events on the landscape transform the physical topography of a place into an array of sites where memories of ancestral wisdom and historical traumas endure. By anchoring historians’ representations of the past in the places and locales in which events took place, geography constructs a third space analogous to the third time of history. The aporias engendered by the phenomenology of time, however, have no equivalent in the phenomenology of space. The dissymmetry between the dialectic that informs the discourse of space and the one that informs the discourse of time thus keeps in place the  reciprocal relation between geography and historiography.

This article deals with the close and reciprocal relation between religion and human rights from the Christian self-comprehension while a bridge that connects and reconnects the human being to itself; the human beings with each other; and all mankind with its creator. Therefore, it opts for a theological contribution to a reflection about the fundamental human rights that can help people with faith to recognize in this public agenda. Namely, in confessional language, the work recognizes human rights as the will of God. With an anthropological starting point, it aims to be faithful to the Judeo-Christian prophetic tradition. In this way, the present text assumes the hermeneutical turn of theology that took place in the twentieth century in the face of new human demands and, consequently, of new ways of reading and updating the wisdom of faith in the horizon of a society of Good Living.

For $x\in \mathbb{R}$, the ordinary Hermite polynomial $H_k(x)$ can be written\begin{eqnarray*}\displaystyleH_k(x)= \mathbb{E} \left[ (x + {\rm i} N)^k \right] =\sum_{j=0}^k {k\choose j} x^{k-j} {\rm i}^j \mathbb{E} \left[ N^j \right],\end{eqnarray*}where ${\rm i} = \sqrt{-1}$ and $N$ is a unit normal random variable.  We prove the reciprocal relation\begin{eqnarray*}\displaystylex^k=\sum_{j=0}^k {k\choose j} H_{k-j}(x)\ \mathbb{E} \left[ N^j \right].\end{eqnarray*}A similar result is given for the multivariate Hermite polynomial.

Sleep disturbances frequently co-occur with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Insomnia and nightmares are viewed as core symptoms of PTSD. Yet, relations between disturbed sleep and PTSD are far more complex: PTSD is linked to a broad range of sleep disorders and disturbed sleep markedly affects PTSD-outcome. This article provides a concise overview of the literature on prevalent comorbid sleep disorders, their reciprocal relation with PTSD and possible underlying neurophysiological mechanisms. Furthermore, diagnostic procedures, standard interventions—particularly first choice non-pharmacological therapies—and practical problems that often arise in the assessment and treatment of sleep disturbances in PTSD are described. Finally, we will present some perspectives on future multidisciplinary clinical and experimental research to develop new, more effective sleep therapies to improve both sleep and PTSD.

Sport participation and exercise practice are considered to be beneficial for mental status, yielding an improved mood and better quality of life. On the other hand, good mental fitness is thought to lead to better physical status and sport performance. The key aim of this narrative review is to provide an unstructured overview on the topic with special considerations on the role of mental and physical health to summarize the evidence on their reciprocal influence. While very few papers describe the role of mental health measures in affecting physical performance, more evidence is available concerning the effect of exercise and sport in improving mental health outcomes. Furthermore, there is a consistent role of depressive and anxiety symptoms in influencing the risk of sport injury in either recreational or elite athletes. Moreover, the importance of investigating mental health issues in elite and retired athletes is highlighted. On the basis of the available literature, several biases were found to affect the provided evidence mainly because of the complexity of a proper study design in this field.

3 Background: Previous studies on experienced quality of care and quality of life have not addressed the reciprocal relation between patients and their relatives. For the first time we were able to include almost 700 couples (patient – relative) in a palliative oncological care context. This study aims to assess the experienced quality of care and emotional functioning (EF) of patients with advanced cancer and their relatives, including their reciprocal relation by using a dyadic approach. Methods: A prospective multicentre observational study among patients with advanced cancer and their relatives, recruited from 40 hospitals in the Netherlands or self-enrolled between November 2017 and January 2020 (eQuiPe study). Patients with metastatic cancer and their relatives were eligible to participate. Respondents completed a questionnaire and clinical data of the patient were obtained by linking the information to the Netherlands Cancer Registry (NCR). Logistic regression analyses were performed on baseline data of 1,103 patients and 831 relatives to assess the association between experienced quality of care and EF of patients and relatives separately and across dyads. Results: In total, 1,103 (65%) patients and 831 (71%) relatives completed the baseline questionnaire, including 699 unique patient-relative couples. Patients experienced lower levels of quality of life, including EF, and more symptoms compared to the normative population ( p<.001). Relatives reported even clinically relevantly lower EF compared to patients (69 vs. 78, p<.001) and were less satisfied with care (59 vs. 74; p<.001). Being more satisfied with care in general ( p<.05) and clarity about who their central health care professional ( p<.05) were positively associated with high EF in patients. For relatives, perceived continuity of care ( p<.01) and continuity of information for the patient ( p<.05) were positively associated with high EF. Dyadic analyses showed that EF of patients ( p<.001) and relatives ( p<.001) was positively associated with EF of the other person and perceived continuity of care by relatives was positively associated with high EF in patients ( p<.01). Conclusions: Experienced integral organisation and satisfaction with care in patients and relatives are related to their EF. The additional reciprocal relation between patients’ and their relatives’ EF and the experienced continuity of care suggests the opportunity for a family‐centered approach to optimize advanced cancer care.
