In terms of containing the vocabulary of a language, dictionaries stand in a very important place in terms of revealing and preserving the cultural values of nations. The vocabulary contained in the dictionaries is mainly composed of internal items and external items. Dictionaries are one of the main sources in which these internal and external items of the language are written together. The lexicography works, which started in the first century BC, continue to develop. In this development, it is seen that Turkic languages and historical dialects have been included in the works initiated by Mahmud al-Kashgari in the 11th century. In this research, the dictionary types, the purpose of the dictionary studies, the development of the lexicography studies in Turkish and Kazakh languages have been mentioned in the chronological order and the methodology of the valuable dictionaries, which have been put forward in this field, has been emphasized.

A language is a living tool that allows people to communicate. Human beings learn a foreign language while preserving their language to maintain their vitality. S/he teaches his/her language on one hand while s/he learns a foreign language. Teaching Turkish as a foreign language needs to be reconsidered in the light of new developments. In this study, while introducing the “science-based reading approach,” the contribution of this approach to students’ reading comprehension skills and its effect on academic achievement were examined. Experimental and control groups were formed, and pre-test and post-test were administered to these groups in this study. Microsoft Excel and SPSS-21 software programs were used in the analysis of the data obtained from the achievement tests. While there was no difference between the experimental and control groups in pre-tests, a significant difference was found in the post-test achievement test of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group. Based on this result, it can be said that the science-based reading approach has a positive effect on students’ reading comprehension skills. It is expected from Turkish language teachers to conduct new researches with different groups to obtain more accurate results and to compare the results.

Throughout history, Afghanistan has been a home to many nations. This land, which hosted Turks and Turkish Culture in the very early ages, is still home to many Turkish tribes. Today, this region, which is the cradle of the Chagatai literature, is considered a host to the vibrant literature of the Uzbeks of Afghanistan. The Afghan-Uzbek literature is a continuation of the Chagatai literature. Russian language has not been influential on the language and literature of the Uzbeks of Afghanistan who, for a long time, had not been under the Russian and Soviet rule; However, Persian language (Dari-Afghanistan Persian) has had a tremendous influence. Due to war and civil turmoil, sufficient work has not been done on the Afghan-Uzbek literature for many years. In our study, we seek to provide information on the Afghan-Uzbek literature from the period of late Chagatai literature to the present day.

Romania is presently located in the eastern part of the Balkans and constitutes the largest piece of land in the Balkans. Romania and Romanian people have been engaged in linguistic and cultural relations with Turkish tribes such as Huns, Pechenegs, Tatars, etc., in recent history for centuries. This common culture continues to live on in the Dobruja region of Romania. Romania was established after Wallachia and Moldovia left the Ottoman Empire in 1878. In a modern sense, studies on Turkisms in Romanian have begun since Jihac (1879), and many studies have been carried out in about a century and a half since then. Relevant sources were gathered and classified to gain a collective perspective from these studies. All studies, such as articles, proceedings, Ph.D. dissertations, etc., were compared in the tables according to criteria such as country, city, language, and the researcher’s nationality. A total of 273 studies, including over 70 studies that act as the source for the transition of Turkism into Romanian and Turkism studies and 203 studies directly or indirectly related to Turkism in Romanian, was listed in references. The listed studies were presented within a four-step (identification, classification, analysis, and reclamation) and 53 subtitled frame, and the results obtained were interpreted.

This study tried to determine the opinions of Turkish language teachers living in Germany on their native Turkish lessons. One of the most critical issues of the children of expatriates living abroad is that they can protect their own culture against the dominant culture. In this context, it is essential for them to learn and use their mother tongue, which is an essential element of culture. The attitudes, behaviors, and motivations of the teachers who provide Turkish lessons are determining factors in learning their mother tongue. The opinions of the teachers on the students’ interest in the lessons are essential for understanding the education on mother tongue in the country where they reside. Within the scope of qualitative research, relevant resources were scanned, and a data collection tool was developed based on face-to-face interviews with teachers who are actively involved and by including expert opinions. The data collected from the teacher were analyzed in SPSS program. According to the findings obtained through the opinions of the teachers, it was seen that the significant problems that the children of the teachers living and working in Germany encounter in learning their mother tongue are the situation of their families, the environment and the time in which the lessons were held, and the need for a specialist teacher who will carry out their jobs with devotion. However, the approach of the country of residence towards the lessons in mother tongue indicated how important the interest or indifference of politicians and bureaucrats in this regard and how this affected the future of lessons in the mother tongue. It was also observed that the teachers did not major from the field and did not have adequate knowledge and competence.

Many nations fused with one another in history and felt the need to learn each other’s languages due to this fusion. Turks and Arabs have lived together for centuries and united under the roofs of the same states due to their intersection in many common aspects. Their mutual efforts to learn each other’s languages as a result of developing relations and common grounds have persevered till the present. In addition to Turks’ efforts to learn Arabic, there have been intense efforts of Arabas to learn Turkish. The endeavors to learn and teach Turkish, which rose with Divan-u Lugati’t-Turk in the past, are now carried out in an abundance of resources in modern areas through technological tools. Although Arabs and Turks lived together for many years, they have had difficulties and problems in learning each other’s languages as their language come from different language families. This study focused on problems encountered in teaching Turkish to Arab students. Data on the problems experienced by Turkish language teachers who teach in schools and training centers in Baghdad were collected through interviews. Exam papers, homework, and other works of the students were examined. A survey for teachers was conducted in this regard.
