This paper deals with the role of academic librarians in higher education program. The focus ofthe study is to explain the roles of academic librarians as research partner in the higher educationprograms. Based on the analysis of the literatures, it was found that academic librarians have astrategic role in successing the research program. There are three main roles of academic librariansin the research activities, that are providing information research services, conducting research skillstraining, and assisting academic members in publishing and disseminating the research findings.Furthermore, the Librarians serve and assist the researchers individually in performing the researchactivities, as well as arrange and implement programs in groups or classes program in teachingresearch skills through information literacy program. Through the teaching of information literacy,the academicians are provided the ability to identify the sources of information, the ability to searchinformation, and the ability to manage the citations.

Dukungan koleksi pusat perpustakaan UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta bagi aktivitas penelitian dosen

This article discuses the evaluation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Library collection.The focus of evaluation is on book collections that have been cited by the lecturers in theirresearch activites. By using citation analysis, the objective of the evaluation is to measurehow the book collection at the Center Library of UIN Jakarta fulfill the information resourcesneeded by the lecturer (researcher) in the university. The population of this evaluation are allof books cited by the UIN Jakarta lecturers in their research report in 2014. The number ofthe population are 4.999 books (titles), and 539 titles of them (more than 10%) were taken assamples. The samples of the book have verified with the UIN Jakarta Center Library Catalog(TULIS) to ensure if the books are avalaible at the collection or not.The findingt of this research is among 539 books title, only 180 title (33%)are avalaible inthe UIN Jakarta Center Library collection. Thus the conclusion of the evaluation is that thecollection of books at UIN Jakarta Center Library are not fully support to the need of researchactivites in 2014.

Evaluasi kemampuan literasi informasi pemustaka perpustakaan STAIN Curup menggunakan standar yang dikembangkan ACRL

This study aims to identify and evaluate user ability of information literacy STAIN Curup’s Library,by applying the model Information Literacy Competency Standards developed by Association of Collegeand Research Libraries (ACRL). This type of research is analytical descriptive. The population inthis study are all users of STAIN Curup’s Library from semester I, III, V, VII, IX, the number ofusers are 2760. The sampling taken with Accidental sampling technique. Data collection techniquesusing questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Mechanical processing of data by the datachecking (Editing), give the code (Coding) and data preparation (Tabulation). While the techniqueof data analysis using descriptive analysis. The results of this research generally shows that 59% ofrespondents always include the author’s name and the source on any citations in their work. Thisshows that users are already have the ability to understanding the problems of economics, law andsocial associated with use of information legally and by ethics. Furthermore, 41% of respondentsalways formulate steps when going to search information. It shows most users are formulate the firstthings that will look for the information. Then 52% of respondents always use strategies in searchof information. From these results, it can be concluded that most users are have good informationliteracy skills in finding the information they need.

This paper discusses about Reference Service at Central Library of State Islamic University,The objective of this article is to describe the practices of reference services and the barriers indelivering the services. Based on the study it was found that the reference service doesn’t functionproperly either in the type of the service or the service system provided. The service system isoffered manually. Moreover, the competencies of reference librarians are still unsufficcient,particularly the competency of Arabic proficiency. It can hinder considerably in deliveringreference services effectively.

Manajemen tata ruang perpustakaan pesantren madani Alauddin Pao-Pao Makassar

This paper discusses the library building design at school library Madani Alauddin Pao-pao. Thelibrary building design is one of the aspect of library development that has the prominent role incarrying out and successing the library functions. A good library design has significant impactto increase users’ interest to visit and use the library services due to the the comfort of the studyenvironment. The purpose of the research ís to examine the library building design of PesantrenMadani Alauddin Pao-pao and to know whether the school library of Pesantren Madani Pao-pao hasfulfilled the National standard of school library (SNP 009:2011).

Analisis bibliometrika Islam: studi kasus dokumentasi publikasi ilmiah di UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta

The research on analysis bibliometrics aimed to find out the development of Islamic sciences bylooking at the productivity of the publication published in scientific journals. The research discussesthe productivity of Islamic publication at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in the last five years(2010 - 2014) based on e-journal bibliographic with 498 articles. The finding of the research is thefield of Shariah and Law study is the most progressive and most productive in the last five years.The indicators, more than 235 researchers contribute to the scientific publications of the period withthe accumulation of 293 articles with 4 titles published in electronic journal. Meanwhile the field ofIslamic Theology showed 107 titles of articles from 87 authors recorded on the three major journalin the same period. Others is Multi-disciplinary field registered around 98 scientific articles from75 scientists recorded on three journal titles related to the fields. In conclusion, Sharia-law is theprominent field of study in productivity and publicity of scientific Islamic publication in this period.

Implementasi pengelolaan rekod di fakultas teknik universitas Indonesia (FT UI)

In carrying out its activities, the organization will produce substantive and facilitatice records.Those records created by the organization must be managed properly to be easily used and retrievedby the organization as the evidence of the organization’s activities. This study aims to determinethe implementation of records management run by Technology Faculty at University of Indonesia.Qualitative method is the approach in this research method with interviewing informants to getthe valid data. The finding of the research is the management of records in Technology Faculty isdecentralized under the responsibility of each unit in Faculty. In managing the records, each unitshave different ways to manage. The principle of record managemnet, they are easy to retrieve, whenthey are needed and requested.

Efektivitas pelatihan ORS (Online Research Skills) untuk mendukung studi dan penelitian mahasiswa di UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang

The focus of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of Online Research Skill (ORS) trainingprogram in supporting students to study and conduct their research at UIN Maulana MalikIbrahim Malang. The purpose is to explore how effective the ORS training in supporting theirstudy performance. This study used research quantitative method with Kirkpatrick model approachadded. Kirkpatrick Model is used to evaluate the effectiveness of ORS training program at the levelof participants’ reaction and participants training process. In general, the result of the study foundthat the training is effective, and by 86.5% have contributed to the achievement of training objectives.However, the training still needs some improvements, specifically the use of more advanced mediatechnology for the next courses. Thus, based on those results, the researchers recommend that the LIORScurriculum need to be revised/improved based on participants’ views and SCONUL curriculum.

Kompetensi pustakawan Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta menghadapi Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean (MEA)

This study discusses the competencies of librarians at State Islamic University (UIN) SyarifHidayatullah Jakarta in facing the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The purpose of the researchis to analyze the competencies of librarians at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and their readiness toface the competitiveness in the AEC era. This study uses questionnaires for data collection supoortedby observation and interviews. Descriptive analysis is employed for data analysis. The finding of theresearch shown that the librarian of the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah havefulfiled the required comptencies but have not been ready to compete in the AEC era so that they needto strengthen their competencies.
