The focus of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of Online Research Skill (ORS) trainingprogram in supporting students to study and conduct their research at UIN Maulana MalikIbrahim Malang. The purpose is to explore how effective the ORS training in supporting theirstudy performance. This study used research quantitative method with Kirkpatrick model approachadded. Kirkpatrick Model is used to evaluate the effectiveness of ORS training program at the levelof participants’ reaction and participants training process. In general, the result of the study foundthat the training is effective, and by 86.5% have contributed to the achievement of training objectives. However, the training still needs some improvements, specifically the use of more advanced mediatechnology for the next courses. Thus, based on those results, the researchers recommend that the LIORScurriculum need to be revised/improved based on participants’ views and SCONUL curriculum.

Competencies gap is now becoming a common problem in Indonesia. Research done by the World Bank in 2019 shows that one of the reasons for the competencies gap is limited opportunities for on-the-job training, only 5% of the workforce reported receiving formal training. One of the companies in Indonesia that experiences a problem of competencies gap is PT Frolant. PT Frolant is a manufacturer of instant food and drinks in Indonesia. The problem of competencies gap is shown from the low internal readiness of the company, employees don’t have the competencies required by the company, especially competencies for higher positions of Supervisor and Manager. The proposed solution to solve the competencies gap problem in PT Frolant is by designing new training programs. The process of designing a new training program included conducting training need analysis, design training based on competency, and using the Kirkpatrick Model to evaluate the training program. The research findings show that the company needs to do several improvements in order to create a training program that can solve the problem of the competencies gap. Those including aligning competency standards with organizational goals and organizational design; use several tools to be better in identifying employees with competency gap; differentiate between soft skill and hard skill or between strategic knowledge and operational knowledge in designing training; and perform all four steps of Kirkpatrick Model in evaluating training. Designing training programs based on competencies aims to help PT Frolant improving employee performance that will further improve company performance.

Entrepreneurship training helps to support culture and entrepreneurship by changing mindsets and increasing expertise. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMES) training program has a challenge to pay more attention to the personal characteristics of entrepreneur to make it effective. Personal characteristics affect the training process, which is generate training success by obtaining satisfaction of the participants. The study examines personal characteristics; learning motivation, personal targets, and extraversion personality, as aspects that influence relationship between training and entrepreneurship orientation. The study was conducted on entrepreneur that took part in entrepreneurship training program using questionnaires. The results of the questionnaire were analyzed with the SEM PLS model and generate results of the study, thus personal characteristics as moderation have no significant influence or relationship to the strength of the relationship between training and entrepreneurial orientation. Even though same as training, personal characteristics have a direct attachment to entrepreneurial orientation. The results of this study can be a reference for the implementation of the training to stimulates the trainees' personal characteristics to support entrepreneurial orientation.

Flipped Classroom’ has become more popular in higher education for encouraging self-learning enthusiasm. This research aims to propose a learning process model of flipped classroom to develop research skill by applying critical inquiry theory in the instructional design to develop thinking, finding answer and research skills which are the key competency for conducting a research. The research methodology was divided into two phases: the first phase included literature review to develop the learning process model, the second phase included learning model suitability evaluation by expert. The results showed that experts have strongly agreed with the learning model. We anticipate that our flipped classroom model which has divided into 3 phase included <br /> pre-class, in-class and after-class phases with the addition of thinking skill development activity by using critical inquiry technics could be used for reference for teachers on planning and implementing instructional activities to enhance the research skill of undergraduate students

This study is observatory and aims at approaching the training process in 6-7-year-old children in handball in terms of socialization and its main objective is the creation of interpersonal relationships between the team players. By using the bibliographic study, sociometric test, analysis and interpretation of the data collected from 20 children (10 girls and 10 boys aged 6-7 years) who were enrolled in a training program in which the group formation was intended to be achieved, we managed to validate the hypothesis according to which if we use in a 6-7-year-old group of children exercises for teaching handball, the level of social integration is improved. The conclusion emphasizes that the results to the second test prove the efficiency of the means of a collective nature.

The current study examined a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site which provided research training to eight female undergraduates. Although it is well known that undergraduate research experiences benefit students and help them pursue careers in science (e.g., Eagan et al., 2011; Taraban & Logue, 2012; Willis et al., 2013), it is important for students to recognize the association between their research and real-world issues (ASHA, 2015; Rhoten & Pfirman, 2007). Human Factors/Ergonomics provides rich opportunities to enhance research experiences for undergraduates. In the current study, students conducted research focused on real-world implications with topics such as driving, human-robot interaction, and relationships. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed to assess the effectiveness of the training. Measures included students’ ratings on the Undergraduate Research Questionnaire and the Kardash Ratings of Interns’ Research Skills; diaries of training experiences, and semi-structured interviews. Students and their faculty mentors perceived improvements in the students’ research skills after the completion of the training program. In addition, the students described positive experiences from the training and thought they gained preparation for their careers. The strengths and weakness of the training program that were identified by the students will be useful to improve REUs that are conducted in the future. In conclusion, consistent with prior research, undergraduate research training (or experience) focused on real-world applications was effective.

Well-developed research skills are essential to a student's educational success. Students, who have not known a world without internet access often feel their research skills are good enough but usually fail to determine what the best information is and how to find it most efficiently. They have been raised in a world of instant access and instant gratification. Today we can book flights, buy cars and communicate across the globe with a keystroke. But asking Google for an answer is not equivalent to doing research. While these tools are constantly improving, and in our lifetimes will replace the need for research skills, the time has not yet come. Today our students still have a need for finding reliable scholarly information and online library research classes and services are the best methods for providing students with the skills they need to succeed. Designing, implementing, and teaching library research classes and embedding online research services into all online class offerings allows librarians to communicate research skills that meet our students at their point of need.

This chapter summarizes several previous studies on the analysis of social networks and presents some challenges in monitoring and evaluating large-scale training programs that make use of social networks. The main objective is to understand the dynamics and identify how information is shared among the participating agents of the training program. In this regard, the authors present various algorithms that apply metrics to social network analysis to assess the evolution of networks throughout the training process, and specifically, to discuss the application of these metrics in the evaluation of large-scale training programs for digital inclusion.

Any training program in applied anthropology or the applied behavioral sciences should begin with the following assumptions: that the institutionalization of anthropology in the university has been central to its survival as a discipline; that the current survival of anthropology as a discipline rests on its ability to train, place and retain the identification of anthropologists working in settings out-side the university; that the latter can only occur if anthropologists generate viable and demonstrably useful approaches in the application of research skills to social problems.
