PurposeThe COVID-19 pandemic is still raging, which calls for an exploration of how to prevent and control pandemics to promote sustainable development. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of the digital economy in sustainable development, the relationship between the two, the impacts of the outbreak on economic and social development, and changes in China's digital economy.Design/methodology/approachThe study used the time-series data from 2002 to 2019 and an unconstrained VAR model to examine the relationship between the digital economy and sustainable development before the pandemic.FindingsChina's digital economy has promoted the country's sustainable economic and social development; it has advanced rapid economic growth, improved people's living standards, increased efficient utilization of resources, and strengthened environmental protection.Research limitations/implicationsAmid the pandemic, China's digital economy developed effectively; it showed strong resilience because of its unique advantages. The digital economy in China has helped the country to control the pandemic in a short period, reduced the risk of supply chain disruption, promoted China's economic growth, and ensured the orderly operation of society. Therefore, countries worldwide are encouraged to prioritize their digital economies.Originality/valueCompared with the extant literature, this study explores the sustainable supply chain in a broader sense in the context of a pandemic, and how the supply chain is influenced by the digital economy. It not only includes the stability, resilience, and viability of the supply chain in economic development but also involves aspects of people's life, resource utilization, and environmental protection.

The paper provides an overview of the general features of an «environmental approach» in the field of information. The relationship and interrelation of the concepts «digital ecosystem», «software ecosystem», «ecosystem of digital economy», «ecosystem of information society», «IT (digital) advocacy ecosystem» is defined. The importance of the IT (digital) ecosystem of the advocacy as a part of the ecosystem of the digital economy of Russia and the ecosystem of the information society has been determined. The author describes the structure and gives the general characteristic of the IT (digital) ecosystem of the advocacy.

The development of the Internet, big data, computer algorithms, artificial intelligence, selflearning robots and other areas of the digital economy contribute to improving life. At the same time, players with market power are emerging in the economy, based on the use of algorithms, big data, big analytics, the use of intellectual property rights, the widespread use of targeted marketing technologies on this basis, not only studying, but also forming consumer preferences. The consequences of digital transformation in the economy are significant, and symbolic changes in legislation and practice of its application cannot be dispensed with here. It is necessary to measure the risks and benefits of the digital economy for competition and public welfare. Risks need to be managed, and benefits need to be multiplied. It is necessary to evaluate the new situation in the markets based on the basic postulates, and also take into account that the dynamic nature of changes has become the main characteristic of the markets.

This paper provides an in-depth study and analysis of the characterization of the digital economy ecosystem and the mechanism of eye-flowering through the method of interspecies competition. The evolutionary game model of symbiotic decision-making in the entrepreneurial ecosystem is constructed, the evolutionary process of symbiotic decision-making of subjects is analyzed through mathematical derivation, and the symbiotic decision-making process of subjects is simulated through computer simulation to answer how the subjects of the entrepreneurial ecosystem make symbiotic decisions and explore the mechanism of symbiotic formation of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Then, based on the ecological perspective, the symbiotic evolution model of entrepreneurial ecosystem subjects is constructed from the subject level, the equilibrium point of the evolution of entrepreneurial ecosystem subjects, the stability conditions, and the relationship between the equilibrium point and the symbiosis model are analyzed, and the symbiotic evolution paths of entrepreneurial ecosystem subjects under different symbiosis modes, initial population size, maximum size, and natural growth rate are presented with simulation experiments, respectively. The main characteristics and manifestations of the dynamic evolution of the platform ecosystem are analyzed, and the key competitive factors that determine the dynamic evolution of the platform ecosystem are depicted. Then, according to the inherent characteristic laws of the platform ecosystem, the complex network approach is applied to construct a dynamic evolution model with originality and wide applicability for the change of bilateral user scale. Based on the dynamic evolution process, the relationship between model parameters and business performance is explored, and the trajectory of bilateral user size change over time and the range of parameters are derived by numerical calculation. Finally, using Monte Carlo simulation methods, the dynamic evolution model is used to predict the future operating conditions of platform enterprises, providing a valuation basis for investors to make investment decisions and helping platform managers to formulate business strategies.

Th e article attempts to investigate and establish the relationship and mutual infl uence of the digitalization process in the economy and the accounting system. Th e author, based on a detailed analysis of the process of analog-todigital conversion and on the prevailing approaches to the defi nition of the concept of «digital economy» today, draws certain parallels with accounting. Digitalization is considered as a prerequisite for synthesizing new methodological and methodological approaches to solving the problems of refl ecting economic reality in the accounting system.

The research reveals that theoretical foundations, stages, driving forces, efficiency factors of modern digitalization are considered as digital economy. The key components of the term “digital economy” are presented: digital technologies, ecosystems and transformations, taking into account their interconnection and interdependence, as well as continuity with the previously developed conceptual series - informatization, intellectualization and robotization. Also, the article presents a clear understanding of the object and subject of research, the importance of the essence of the digital economy phenomenon and the stages of its development. The purpose of this study is to study the relationship between digital technologies, innovative and economic development, describe the advantages and disadvantages of digitalization for countries with different levels of economic development. It is noted that the digital economy is an integral part of the information (digital) environment, forming in accordance with the needs of the real sector of the economy and the needs of society, changing under the influence of technological innovations.
