In recent years, education quality and quality assessment have received a great deal of attention at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Bangladesh. Most of the HEIs in Bangladesh face severe resource constraints and find it difficult to improve education quality by improving inputs, such as better infrastructure and modernized classroom facilities. Thus, in response to the present government’s demand to improve the quality of education at HEIs in Bangladesh, it is imperative to formulate plans that are more cost-effective. According to some previous studies, the quality of education depends largely on the teaching-learning process. These studies affirm that, with limited resources at hand, the employment of active learning in the classroom is one of the most effective ways to improve education quality. To conduct this qualitative research, we utilized multiple sources of data, including semi-structured and in-depth interviews, descriptive observations and self-administered questionnaires. This paper aims to explore three related issues: What are the various active learning strategies that can be employed by the instructors at HEIs in Bangladesh? What are the potential factors that can hinder the implementation process? Finally, what recommendations can be provided on how to successfully implement active learning strategies in the classroom? The findings suggest that a lack of teacher training and student prior experience in an active learning environment, large class sizes, excessive curriculum loads and students’ academic backgrounds are some common factors that can hinder the implementation of active learning in Bangladesh. The findings of this study can be instrumental for HEIs in Bangladesh as they aspire to improve their education quality.

AbstractA two-stage study was carried out. Firstly, a pioneering attempt was made to measure the quality of education in rural areas of Poland, by county (powiat), using a synthetic indicator. Secondly, the socioeconomic determinants of that quality were modelled. A strength of this study is the fact that it covers the entire population of the given type of administrative units. The analysis served to verify the hypothesis that exogenic socioeconomic factors are key to the effectiveness of the educational process in rural areas. It was shown that in Poland the theories of polarised development are more applicable than those of endogenic development. There was observed an inversely proportional effect from the centre–periphery axis on education quality, but, above all, the effect of several gravitational systems, in which there occurs exogenic diffusion of the results of economic growth and progress from the present and former provincial capitals.

In Russian society, a certain idea has been formed about rural schools as a group of deficient educational institutions, due to the peculiarities of the organization of their life. Nevertheless, a comparative analysis of the results of the GIA (USE / OGE), VPR, NICO, which are demonstrated by students of urban and rural schools shows that the top 30 schools from different regions make up more than 50% of the OU of rural areas. Most often, about a third of rural schools complete the educational quality rating lists. Rural educational institutions, under equal conditions, differ significantly in the level of educational indicators of students. This article discusses the concept of "quality of education", which is capacious and multidimensional. Considering the quality of education of rural schools, it is necessary to take into account their features. The main feature of rural schools is the diversity of species and types, and it is necessary to evaluate their quality of education from the point of view of approaches that are fundamentally different from urban schools. Therefore, the question of the theoretical study of the quality of education in rural schools is particularly acute.

The fourth industrial revolution is impacting the learning industry to become online learning, especially in Indonesia. Online learning provides benefits in that it can be cheaper, takes less time, can be self-paced, and provides an equal quality of education for students in rural areas. A total of 60 Indonesian college students on selected campus (age 20 ± 0,36 years old) who joined the Computer Simulation class in the third grade participated in this study. They are divided into two classes, an online class using Moodle software and a physical class, then observations are made. This study aims to obtain preliminary data to then research what human factors influence Indonesian people that constrain students from successful participation in online learning. The results show that there are three aspects of implementing online lectures in Indonesia: rules, usability and cognitive aspects. Besides, quality of place is an environmental factor that cannot be controlled.

This study employs qualitative research methods to explore the performance of school students in reading motivation, sincerity, and achievement and the perceived role of a school social worker in Tanguar Haor inhabitants of rural Sunamganj in Bangladesh. Findings of the study suggest that the stakeholders in rural education in haor areas are keen to see the students’ achievements in reading, motivation, and academic performance but unaware of how to improve. This paper argues that social workers have a significant role to play in rural areas, particularly in remote places like haor areas, to enhance students’ performances and academic achievements in the school as well as to improve the quality of education services in those areas.

Waqaf can be one solution to improve national development instruments. where endowments have a strategic role in improving the welfare of the people. Waqaf can help improve the quality of education, poverty alleviation, public health and help improve the economy of the community. In Indonesia, the practice of waqaf is still fairly unrealized. This is based on a lack of understanding of the meaning, purpose, form of endowments by the community. Especially in rural areas that basically their understanding is still mixed with classical understanding. Where if you want to carry out waqf, then you must have vacant land as an item to be represented. By cultivating waqaf like saving will make some people begin to be interested in doing it. At present there are many social activities that can improve the welfare of the community with waqaf.

The problems in implementation of a number of programs adopted for the development of rural settlements in Kazakhstan are shown, including: low level of production and engineering infrastructure in rural areas of the republic; decline in the quality of education due to the lack of competition among social workers in rural areas. Proposals on early solution of the current situation have been developed. The need for stage-by-stage financing of the assigned tasks and strict control over their implementation, provision of financial mechanisms is indicated, in order to increase the remuneration of specialists in the field of agro-industrial production, it is necessary to develop specific effective measures aimed at increasing the effectiveness of agricultural sector. The authors state that budget expenditures for the development of low-potential RS are ineffective. Prospects for the development of rural areas to a certain extent depend on the activation of regional public bodies and local self-government in expanding the methods of managing socioeconomic processes, developing interaction with the population and business structures, which will make it possible to successfully implement the set objectives, significantly increase the level of employment and incomes of the rural population, improve living conditions and on this basis increase the number of regions with stable rural population; will help improve the quality of life of the village residents. In the course of the study, methods of comparing economic indicators in dynamics, systematization, and generalization of scientific data were used.
