The mango seed was extracted to starch via distillation, alkaline, sedimentation and centrifugation methods. Based on the analysis, different starch extraction methods resulted in different proximate composition, physicochemical, morphological, structural, functional and thermal properties of starch. As such, it is necessary to choose a suitable starch extraction method to fabricate starch-based film for packaging application. Therefore, in this study, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied for performing the decision-making process. Based on the AHP method, it was found that, the best alternative for starch-based films is distillation method.

The complexity of problems and the necessity to find a comprehensive approach to their solution favours the search for various methods that support the decision making process in the construction industry. At present, the multi-criteria methods lead the way. They enable the assessment of the problem in many aspects and with taking into account qualitative and quantitative data. Moreover, these methods do not limit the decision-maker in terms of the number of considered variants as well as the scope and the type of adopted assessment criteria. The aim of the article is to present the procedure of assessment of proposed building material solutions with taking into account the division of criteria due to their character – benefits (B) and costs (C). It was shown the dependence adopted by the decision maker strategy on the final ranking of solutions using the BOCR approach in the AHP method.

The paper describes the selection of an optimal supplier from China based on three obtained bids to produce 120,000 forged pieces, which is the primary process for shaft production. The choice was made using the AHP method based on the Expert Choice software program and Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM). The key information when choosing the optimal supplier of large number of forgings is to define the objective of the task, decision tree with weighted criteria and sub-criteria, consistency checking and possible reconsideration using brain storming when defining the strength of criteria/sub-criteria. To some extent, this may reduce initial subjectivity in the decision-making process in the Decision Support System.

Songket Silungkang is a traditional weaving product made with special tools and is the creation of weavers from the Silungkang area. Songket has various types of motifs that are currently popular in Indonesia. So that it becomes a consideration for songket enthusiasts to get information about the songket motif. In this case, a proper analysis is needed to speed up the identification process in determining the Silungkang songket motif. Therefore we need a model that can describe all computerized systems that support the decision-making process. The decision support system using the Analytical Hierarchy Process method assesses each motive with the criteria and changes in the weight value. The criteria used in identifying Silungkang songket motifs are the type of material, the shape of the motif and the color of the motif. This study produces a matrix of yield weight, with the highest value of 90.0%. So that from the final results of the calculation, it can be identified that the most popular songket Silungkang motif at the INJ Songket Store is the pucuak rabuang motif. This is useful for facilitating decision making related to the identification of Silungkang songket motive in the future

Determining the most convenient plant location is one of the commonly encountered problems in engineering applications. This paper presents an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model, which is developed for selecting the optimum plant location for marble/travertine factories in natural stones processing industry. The whole criteria which affect the decision making process in marble industry were determined to solve plant location problem in the AHP model. To determine optimum marble plant location for a new marble factory, which is planned to install by a mining firm located in the Eskisehir region in Turkey, an analysis was carried out by introducing the AHP method which is one of the well-known classical Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM) methods. This analysis shows that the AHP method can successfully be applied for the selection of plant location as well as any decision making process in natural stone industry.

This paper proposes a hybrid method integrating case-based reasoning (CBR) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) methods to reinforce the sustainable performance of an environmental management system. The CBR–AHP method aims to support the decision-making process to select environmental management actions (EMAs) aimed at reducing risky trends of the environmental state of a region. The CBR methods takes advantage of a set of situation–solution pairs called cases, which are stored in a memory and then retrieved as candidates to solve new problems. Situations in this work are represented by a set of risky trends of key environmental pathways (KEPs) related to CO2 emissions, air quality, loss of vegetation cover, water availability, and solid waste, the combination of which damage the environmental state quality of a region. Meanwhile, solutions are represented by a set of EMAs. Similar situations to a given current situation are retrieved from the memory of cases, and then their solutions are combined through an adaptation mechanism, until the solution of the current problem is obtained. The AHP method is used to assign weights to environmental variables and to alternative solutions represented by EMAs. We used risky trends derived from real data related to the environmental states of a Mexican region to test the proposed CBR–AHP hybrid method. The results obtained provided insights into the potential of the CBR–AHP hybrid method to support the decision-making process to select EMAs aimed at reducing risky trends of current environmental states.

Couples / soul mates have been determined by God the Almighty, humans are created in pairs and all humans must have been determined to live mate depending on the efforts of the man himself. Because of that we as human beings who want to endeavor and strive.         Therefore, a Decision Support System (DSS) is needed which can overcome problems in choosing the best partner. The method used in the Decision Support System (SPK) is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method because it is appropriate for the decision-making process and can determine the weight value of each attribute, then proceed with a ranking process that will select the best alternative from a number of the best alternatives.                 Islam provides solutions and signs in choosing a mate, one of which is endeavor. Efforts and praying to Allah SWT in this way are good and true Decision Making. Keywords: SPK, AHP, Pair, Best
