ABSTRACT A color test has been developed for the selection and identification of mutants in Neurospora crassa, constitutive for the three normally inducible enzymes which convert quinate to protocatechuate. By this means seven such mutants have been recovered after ultra violet irradiation of wild type and have been shown to be allelic (or very closely linked) to the qa-1C mutants previously obtained by other means. Thus, the regulation of the synthesis of these three catabolic enzymes is indicated to be under the control of a single gene, qa-1+.

King studied liver function in toxicosis of pregnancy by means of a color test with bromsulfalein, which proved to be suitable for the differential diagnosis of nephritic and preeclampsic conditions. There is complete correspondence between the results of the test and the clinical data.

The reliability of selecting the colors used in the Luscher Color Test over a 45-day period is reported. First and last colors selected were most reliable. All other selections were lower but significantly correlated except the third and fourth selections which were not significant. Significant differences in percentage of color preferences for the first and seventh selections were found between those reported by Luscher for a large European sample of male college students and the present sample of 98 college students. Colors differing for samples were red, green, yellow and grey. Reliability, although somewhat low, appears comparable to that reported for other projective techniques. Interpretations based upon the descriptions by Luscher should, however, be carefully weighed considering the differences found for color preferences between the European and the present U.S. samples.

The work is devoted to one of the most actual problems of current strabismology — the development of effective ways to study binocular vision.The purpose — to study the effectiveness of the developed modification of the Bagolini test in the diagnostics of binocular disorders.Patients and methods. 240 patients with non-paralytic strabismus aged from 6 to 17 (on average 10.8 ± 0.24) years were observed. There were 190 patients with converging strabismus and 50 patients with diverging strabismus. The control group consisted of 180 children aged also from 6 to 17 (on average 10.9 ± 0.3) years without ophthalmopathology. All children were examined for the character of vision using a Worth-test, the classic Bagolini test (CTB), and the developed modified Bagolini test (MTB). If the patient has a strabismus angle, the study was performed in two variants: without prismatic deviation compensation (under the subjective angle of strabismus — SU) and under full prismatic compensation (under the objective angle of strabismus — OU). For qualitative assessment of binocular vision with MTB, static presentation of the test image was used, for quantitative assessment — alternating (alternate presentation of details corresponding to the right and left eyes).Results. The qualitative evaluation data obtained with the help of MTB made it possible to differentiate patients with non-permanent regional functional scotoma of suppression (FSP) and patients with stable bifoveal fusion among children with binocular vision by color test, and to distinguish patients with regional stable FSP and total FSP among children with monocular vision by color test. In the study under SU, the sensitivity of the method was 97.8 % and specificity 96.2 %, under OU — 96.6 % and 92.7 %, correspondingly. Using quantitative evaluation, it was found that the minimum duration of monocular phases required to eliminate functional inhibition in children with total FSP is twice as long as in children with regional FSP (z = 6,303, df 52, p < 0.001 according to the Mann — Whitney criterion).Conclusion. Thus, the modified Bagolini test developed by us is an effective way of qualitative and quantitative assessment of the state of binocular vision. The method has a high sensitivity and specificity, combines the capabilities of anaglyphic and phase haploscopy, and can be used for a personalized approach to the selection of conditions and modes of functional correction of binocular disorders, as well as for monitoring binocular vision during treatment.

research on the isolation of terpenoid class of compounds from the seeds of papaya (Carica papaya L.) and test its activity against Staphylococcus aureus in vivo in male rabbits. This research aims to prove that the terpenoid compounds isolated from the seeds of papaya (Carica papaya L.) can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus in vivo. Separation of terpenoid compounds by column chromatography ((eluent n-hexane: ethyl acetate: ethanol)) resulted in 25 eluates, and then merged based on the results of identification by TLC ((nhexane: ethyl acetate (8: 2)) and the color test reagent Lieburmann -Burchard produce 5 fraction groups. fraction D showed positive terpenoids with Rf 0.75 and the color purple with Lieburmann-Burchard reagent. study using 15 rabbits were divided into 5 groups: P1 (negative control), P2 (positive control) , P3 (5% of the test group), P4 (10% of the test group), P5 (test group 15%). each group was given the intracutaneous Staphylococcus aureus as 0,2ml on the backs of rabbits. Having symptoms of infection each group was given the test substance 3 times a day topically, the observed parameter is the diameter of the wound, and histopathological observations performed on days 3,6 and 9 Analysis of the results of research conducted using ANSIRA showed highly significant differences between groups (p <0.05). Then proceed with the analysis of the results of the analysis HSD test showed highly significant differences in the test group 5% to 10% of the test group and the test group 15%. Isolates terpenoid class of compounds from the seeds of papaya (Carica Papaya L.) with a concentration of 10% and 15% can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. The concentrations of cocoa liquor is an alternative to increase phenolic compounds and at the same time as a natural coloring agent in creams. This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of the cocoa liquor on the characteristics of the cream with the active ingredient of turmeric and tamarind leaves and to determine the cocoa liquor concentration to produce the best characteristics of the cream with the active ingredient of turmeric and tamarind leaves. This study used a randomized block design with 6 levels of cocoa liquor concentration of 0%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12%. The variables observed were homogeneity, viscosity, pH, spreadability, separation ratio, adhesion, L*, a*, b* color test, and total phenol of the cream. The results showed that the treatment of cocoa liquor concentration had a very significant effect on pH, viscosity, adhesion, dispersion, L*, a*, b* color tes, total phenol test, and organoleptic color test. Meanwhile, the treatment of cocoa liquor concentration had a significant effect on the separation ratio of the cream with the active ingredient of turmeric and tamarind leaf. The results of this study indicate that the concentration of cocoa liquor as much as 4% produces a cream with the active ingredient of turmeric and tamarind leaves with the best characteristics that are homogeneous with pH 6.13, viscosity 15333cp and, adhesion 2.39sec, spreadability 7.18cm, separation ratio 0.95, color test values L * 15.39, the values of a * 11.55, the values of b * 13.92, with the organoleptic test for color preferences 5.1.
