The article analyzes the life plans of graduates of technical and vocational education institutions. The sociological study was conducted in 5 cities of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is a part of the Russian Federation. At present there is a significant contradiction in the labor market. On the one hand, Russia’s national economy needs workers. On the other hand, Russian young people are very skeptical about working professions, although there is much demand for workers. The study shows that graduates are not professionally oriented, i.e. they are not likely to work in their professions after graduating from colleges. The findings of the study show that professional self-determination of graduates of technical and vocational education institutions depends on the type of parental environment. The authors conclude that the key thing that determines the nature of the parents’ influence on the plans of graduates is the educational background of the parents.

INTRODUCTION. Both insufficient and excessive exposure to UV radiation (UVR) lead to serious health consequences: Caucasian people living in northern Europe commonly suffer from vitamin D deficiencies, constant increasing number of melanoma incidents is alarming. AIM. Assessment of knowledge and selected attitudes among Silesians about ultraviolet radiation. MATERIAL AND METHODS. Study involved 169 adult residents of the one Silesian city. The original, anonymous questionnaire containing 25 questions about UVR was used. Respondents (85 females, 84 males) of different age and level of education were examined. RESULTS. One-third of respondents do not spend time outdoors during sunny weather. The solarium is used by 9% of the studied group. The vitamin D synthesis was a favorable UV effect known by 90% of the respondents. 51% of the group did not know about the UV importance in melanin synthesis. 55% of respondents were not aware of the significance of the SPF (Sun Protective Factor) abbreviation, and 40% of people with the vocational education were convinced that the SPF50+ provides complete sun protection. Only 44% of women and 23% of men differentiated basic skin phototypes. Respondents knew at what time of a day in spring-summer the sun should be avoided, 71% knew about the re-application of a waterproof sunscreens after bath. 64% of women and 37% of men presented the sufficient knowledge of melanoma. Only 38% of respondents paid attention to UV filters when buying sunglasses. CONCLUSIONS. Respondents were aware of the UVR value for the vitamin D synthesis, but only a small percentage declared short-term sun exposures. Women had more knowledge about negative effects of UVR. People over 50 years of age and those with vocational education had a limited knowledge about health effects of UVR.

While vital for the social and economic development of Kenya and Africa as whole, Vocational Education remains hampered by a negative parity of esteem. Individuals and households continue to view vocational education as a second option. This is in contrast with the views held by both pre-colonial and post colonial governments. Each successive government has attempted to provide vocational education and made policies to effect widespread provision. This article reviews the history of these policies and identifies the source of negative views towards vocational education on the one hand to discriminatory approaches by colonial governments and on the other hand to the burdening of technical education with the task of employment creation.

Introduction. The paper describes the role of Russian transnational corporations in the development and implementation of the Adults’ Education and Vocational Education and Trainings programs in foreign countries as the promotion of Russian technologies. As the competition between the universities in the international educational markets rises, they see the increasing need for the fixation of the programs they offer onto the needs of the global companies, broadening the possibilities for the students to obtain relevant qualifications and skills, and corresponding diversification of educational programs. Among the possible directions for the increase in the educational services that are offered for export could be adults’ educational programs, vocational education and trainings. Materials and Methods. The study of the additional vocational education programs for foreign students was carried out with specialized questionnaire. 180 higher education institutions took part in the survey. The analysis of the corporate segment of additional professional education services for foreign markets was carried out on the basis of semi-formalized in-depth expert interviews. Results. Based on the collected empirical data we were able to identify main participants of the Adults’ Education and Vocational Education and Trainings export and structure and spheres of the programs as well as target countries in this market in three years’ time. It was revealed that the most successful providers of the educational programs are the universities that on the one hand offer already well developed and sought-after educational programs on the Russian Adults’ Education and Vocational Education and Trainings market, and on the other hand – already have stable partnership ties with countries that send students to undergraduate programs. Discussion and Conclusion. This study elaborates on the role of universities in promoting competitive technologies through the distribution of Adults’ Education and Vocational Education and Trainings. Mechanisms for formation and implementation of corporate training programs by universities for Russian industrial corporations are structured. Barriers for the attraction of foreign students are discussed to increase the scope of training. Results of the study can be recommended for the universities concerned with the development of the Adults’ Education and Vocational Education and Trainings sector in the international context. The implementation of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative and Chinese education opening policy have created conditions for comprehensively promoting vocational education reform and high-quality development. Through the questionnaire survey of 70 countries in Asia and Africa on the demand for vocational skills and vocational skill level certificates, this paper analyzes the needs of Asia and Africa respectively, and then takes 8 countries as the pilot to analyze the specific needs of each country. Domestic vocational colleges can seek the corresponding state to cooperate according to what high level professional they owned which help China’s vocational education model and education standards go global, and help Chinese-funded enterprises train local employees, and help China’s technical and industrial standards go global.

The paper is an attempt to point out the problems faced by the new communist authorities in Yugoslavia in the years after the victory in the War and the Revolution in the process of emancipation and additional feminization of the teaching vocation, with particular emphasis on the period until the adoption of the General Law on Education (1958). Particular emphasis will be placed on policy analysis as well as concrete measures that have led to a different profile of the role of the teacher in the post-war society. On the one hand, it will highlight the concrete measures taken by the state to motivate as many women as possible to opt for the teaching job. On the other hand, they will point out the many problems faced by many teachers whose professional and professional qualities, in assessing the quality of their work, are not so infrequently subordinated to their ?moral characteristics?.

Simulation programs in polytechnic (vocational) education have an important didactic function. On the one hand, they are a great example of modern didactic software, on the other hand, knowledge of the simulation software environment by a future graduate of a technical university increases the qualifications of the future employee and allows him to acquire an attractive profession. In the era of high requirements set by employers and competition on the education market, their knowledge seems highly justified. However, whether simulation programs, especially deterministic ones, can also act as teaching aids is not so obvious. In this article, in addition to purely theoretical considerations, will be presented stages of own research on didactic efficiency, or more precisely the impact of this group of software on the cognitive process during learning. More importantly, the didactic effectiveness was tested based on typical pedagogical research as well as by means of electroencephalographic tests using the QEEG method.

This article examines scholarship in the field of foreign policy analysis inspired by the philosophy and social theory of American Pragmatism. Pragmatism is reconstructed as a unified theory of human thought and action emphasizing the primacy of practice and situated creativity. It has been largely ignored in International Relations (IR), in general, and foreign policy analysis (FPA), in particular, during the 20th century. Given the fact that pragmatism is widely taken to be one of the few genuinely “American” social theories, its marginal role in IR scholarship is astounding since the discipline has rightly been characterized as an “American social science” (S. Hoffmann). Against this background the article highlights one of the prominent disciplinary dualisms, the distinction between “systemic” theories of international politics/relations on the one hand and “sub-systemic” foreign policy analyses on the other. It does so, however, as an entry point for a different perspective. Pragmatist thought entered the field in the mid-1990s at a moment when increasing numbers of scholars felt uneasy about this dualism because it severed human agency from internally connected transformations at the global level of political interaction. The proliferation of paradigmatist scholarship about German foreign policy after the country’s unification in 1990 illustrates both how established “paradigms” grappled with “change” and “continuity” in German foreign policy and how pragmatism was mobilized as a theoretical resource in order to respond to this challenge. Pragmatism is a distinctive social theory that starts with what people do (primacy of practice) and that conceives of theories as tools for coping. Rather than distinguishing between thought (or theory) on the one hand and action (or practice) on the other as separate activities, pragmatism emphasizes the unity of all problem-solving forms of “inquiry” (J. Dewey). Inquiry removes doubt and enables us to form beliefs (as “rules for action”). Methodologically this understanding translates into a rejection of the separation of “theory” and “subject matter” in favor of empirically grounded reconstructive approaches. In addition to pragmatist perspectives on epistemology and methodology, the article highlights different ways of substantive theorizing in IR/FPA such as habits, practices, and loyalties but also normative accounts.

The purpose of the present study was to examine the influence of the ?Competence-based didactic units? in vocational education on students? motivation and self-regulated learning. The sample consisted of 115 males and 133 females (n=250) who were attending secondary vocational or technical schools in Slovenia. The students were included in an experimental project that introduced a ?competence- based didactic unit? (CBDU) in vocational schools? curricula. In our study, the introduction of the CBDU was used to measure changes in the motivational, cognitive, and metacognitive aspects of self-regulated learning and to examine how they were subsequently related to other students characteristists, such as gender, school performance and time spent on school work. The results show the importance of CBDUs, on the one hand, on motivational factors such as intrinsic goal orientation, task value, and self-efficacy, and, on the other hand, differences in gender and grade level. The findings are discussed in terms of how teaching strategies in vocational education can contribute to the development of individuals? motivation.
