The preemptive role of capital is analyzed in a class of differential games of capital accumulation with reversible investment for two symmetric players. Two dynamic concepts of interaction are defined: feedback substitutability and feedback complementarity. These concepts are useful for exploring the dynamic properties of the stocks. In particular it is proved that if the equilibrium of the game is characterized by feedback substitutability, the firm with the higher initial condition overshoots his long-run level of capital.

This paper reports on the role of oxidised carbon nanotubes (oxMWCNTs) present in poly-3,4-ethylenedioxytiophene (PEDOT)/graphene oxide (GOx) composite. The final ternary composites (pEDOT/GOx/oxMWCNTs) are synthesised by an electrodeposition process from the suspension-containing monomer, oxidised carbon nanotubes and graphene oxide. Dissociated functional groups on the surface of graphene oxide play a role of counter-ions for the polymer chains. Detailed physicochemical and electrochemical characterisation of the ternary composites is presented in the paper. The results prove that the presence of oxMWCNTs in the ternary composites doubles the capacitance values compared to the binary ones (450 vs. 270 F cm−3 for PEDOT/GOx/oxMWCNTs and PEDOT/GOx, respectively). The amount of carbon nanotubes in the synthesis solution is crucial for physicochemical properties of the composites, their adhesion to the electrode substrate and the electrochemical performance.

Abstract Can prices convey information about the fundamental value of an asset? This paper considers this problem in relation to the dynamic properties of the fundamental (whether it is constant or time-varying) and the structure of information available to agents. Risk-averse traders receive two potential signals each period: one exogenous and private and the other, prices, endogenous and public. Prices aggregate private information but include aggregate noise. Information can accumulate over time both through endogenous and exogenous signals. With a constant fundamental, the precision of both private and public cumulative information increases over time but agents put progressively more weight on the endogenous signals, asymptotically disregarding private ones. If the fundamental is time-varying, the use of past private signals complicates the role of prices as a source of information, since it introduces endogenous serial correlation in the price signal and cross-correlation between it and innovations in the fundamental. A modified version of the Kalman filter can still be used to extract information from prices and results show that the precision of the endogenous signals converges to a constant, with both private and public information used at all times.

Peptides and proteins constitute a large group of molecules that play multiple functions in living organisms. In conjunction with their important role in biological processes and advances in chemical approaches of synthesis, the interest in peptide-based drugs is still growing. As the side chains of amino acids can be basic, acidic, or neutral, the peptide drugs often occur in the form of salts with different counter-ions. This review focuses on the role of counter-ions in peptides. To date, over 60 peptide-based drugs have been approved by the FDA. Based on their area of application, biological activity, and results of preliminary tests they are characterized by different counter-ions. Moreover, the impact of counter-ions on structure, physicochemical properties, and drug formulation is analyzed. Additionally, the application of salts as mobile phase additives in chromatographic analyses and analytical techniques is highlighted.

The expertise of protein kinases lies in their dynamic structure, wherein they are able to modulate cellular signaling by their phosphotransferase activity. Only a few hundreds of protein kinases regulate key processes in human cells, and protein kinases play a pivotal role in health and disease. The present study dwells on understanding the working of the protein kinase-molecular switch as an allosteric network of “communities” composed of congruently dynamic residues that make up the protein kinase core. Girvan–Newman algorithm-based community maps of the kinase domain of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A allow for a molecular explanation for the role of protein conformational entropy in its catalytic cycle. The community map of a mutant, Y204A, is analyzed vis-à-vis the wild-type protein to study the perturbations in its dynamic profile such that it interferes with transfer of the γ-phosphate to a protein substrate. Conventional biochemical measurements are used to ascertain the effect of these dynamic perturbations on the kinetic profiles of both proteins. These studies pave the way for understanding how mutations far from the kinase active site can alter its dynamic properties and catalytic function even when major structural perturbations are not obvious from static crystal structures.

NR/ENR/silica composites with different ENR amount were prepared in an open two-roll laboratory mixing mill at room temperature. Dynamic properties of ENR filled NR/silica were performed by dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer (DMA) and compression fatigue analyzer. DMA and compression fatigue test results showed that the effect of ENR on dynamic properties of NR/silica was significant. DMA displayed the tanδ of NR/ENR/silica composites at 0 °C was increased with increasing ENR amount. Compression fatigue test indicated the presence of ENR decreased the heat produced during compression test and the heat build-up is the least when NR to ENR ratio is 80 to 20. Scanning electron microscopy was used to investigate the morphology of NR/silica filled with ENR. It is found that silica self-aggregation was improved in the presence of ENR and sea-island structure was formed in NR/silica when 30phr ENR added, which maybe the reason of decrement of heat produced during compression.

Sarcopenia caused by ageing and muscle loss is mostly found in the elderly people. Since a number of older people have been increased, a device which assists with grasping can play an important role in an ageing society. The purpose of this research is to select the material which is potentially a part of soft robotic actuator. Natural rubber (NR) latex produced locally in Thailand is intentionally chosen and chemically vulcanized by using a conventional vulcanization system into a molded fingered foam. The research focuses on varying the amount of foaming agent (Benzene sulfonyl hydrazide, BSH). Effect of foaming agent quantity on morphology and dynamic properties of the prepared natural rubber foam was elucidated. The suitable foam formula is selected and molded as the human fingers in the structure of a potential soft robotic actuator which were tested for the movement.
