In recent years, teaching English, especially English for specific purposes at Vietnam universities has received a lot of attention from students, teachers, and relevant authorities because of not high teaching effectiveness. This results in the fact that students after graduation do not meet English requirements of employers, so unemployment becomes more serious. This is an alarming situation because English is becoming the almost indispensable communication language of young people nowadays. This empirical study consists of a survey of teachers and students at universities in Hanoi by listing the factors related to teaching English for specific purposes. Then, we give some recommendations for improving effectiveness of teaching English for specific purposes so that students can meet the English requirements for their work and lives.

Educational robotics (ER) is increasingly present in secondary education classrooms and has acquired greater projection, especially with the appearance of championships, such as FIRST® LEGO® League. These competitions are based on a globalizing focus of the different areas of the curriculum, therefore, we consider that it directly links with the achievement of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) skills. We present a research study that provides objective data based on the opinions of teachers and students that participated in this championship during the course 2017/2018 about its impact in the learning process. To this end, Spanish students and teachers answered questionnaires to collect their perceptions and assessments just after their participation. The results obtained allow us to conclude that both teachers and students believe this project promotes interest and scientific curiosity, as well as social skills through teamwork.

The construction of curriculum ideological and political education mechanism in colleges and universities in China has begun to take effect. In view of the differences in the key points of different colleges and universities in the construction of curriculum ideological and political education mechanism, the quality evaluation of curriculum ideological and political education mechanism is particularly important. However, the quality evaluation mechanism is related to ability, fairness, and potential. It is essential to assume the effectiveness of moral education in college curriculum ideological and political education as the benchmark, adhere to positioning experts, teachers, and students as the key elements of the main body of the evaluation mechanism, as well as establish a diversified quality evaluation standard system based on the teaching management, infrastructure, and moral education effectiveness. Building a scientific and multi-dimensional quality evaluation mechanism for ideological and political education in colleges and universities would promote the connotative development of ideological and political education in courses.

In recent years, an increasing number of colleges and universities have been turning away from traditional letter grading systems that limit student grades to A, B, C, D, and F based on the presumption that grading systems with more flexibility are advantageous to both teachers and students. However, as with any rating system, before opting for a new grading system it is important to recognize that modifications may result in some, possibly unintended, consequences as well. In this paper, we discuss theoretical effects that including plus and/or minus grades may have on Grade Point Average (GPA) and analyze data from a School that implemented such a change.
