Abstract There is a growing international interest in ethical issues in research and the process by which it can be enhanced. Unlike in the past when research studies were conducted abruptly, almost all organisations and research institutes now have various mechanisms to ensure compliance with ethical standards and procedures. Adult and community education research in Nigeria continues to gain the attention of governments and Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) due to the need to improve the literacy rate among adult learners and out-of-school youths in the country. However, in many workshops and training involving academics and development workers, much of the discussions on ethical issues in data collection and research reportage are not given the necessary attention that it requires. This review paper explores the ethical issues in adult and community education research with a view to re-awakening the consciousness of adult education scholars and practitioners, both in Nigeria and on the continent of Africa, to rethink how research data and processes are managed, such that it conforms with best practices globally.

By examining policies of recruiting non-EU/EEA health workers and how ethical considerations are taken into account when employing non-EU/EEA nurses in the United Kingdom, France, and Switzerland, this chapter intends to show that the use of the so-called ‘ethical’ argument to convince national public opinion of the relevance of restrictive recruitment policies is recent (since the 1990s). The analysis highlights the fact that in addition to the institutional legacies, qualification and skills—through the process of their recognition—play an important role in the opening or restriction of the labour market to health professionals from the Global South. The legacy of the past also largely determines the place offered to non-EU/EEA health professionals in the different health systems of host countries.

ABSTRAK Di Indonesia, meskipun sejarah pemijatan berawal dari nenek moyang masa lampau, namun pijat bayi yang diperkenalkan bukanlah pijat tradisional yang dilakukan oleh dukun bayi atau dukun pijat yang pijatannya tidak aman. Pijat bayi yang dimasyarakatkan adalah pijat modern yang memadukan antara ilmiah (kesehatan), seni, dan kasih sayang. Pijat bayi akan membuat bayi tidur lebih lelap dan meningkatkan kosentrasi kesiagaan (alertness) atau kosentrasi. Hal ini disebabkan pijatan dapat mengubah gelombang otak. Pengubahan ini terjadi dengan cara menurunkan gelombang alpha dan peningkatan gelombang beta, serta tetha yang dapat dibuktikan dengan penggunaan EEG (electro enchephalogram). Tujuan kegiatan adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu dalam melakukan pijat bayi di Desa Pondok Kelapa, Pondok Nias dan Pondok Kemuning Kec. Langsa Baro Kota Langsa. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah program pendidikan masyarakat melalui edukasi dan pelatihan pijat bayi pada ibu bayi dan balita. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan oleh Dosen Prodi D-III Kebidanan Langsa pada tanggal 30 September s/d 2 Oktober 2020 didapatkan hasil mayoritas peserta pengabdian kepada masyarakat memiliki pengetahuan yang baik tentang pijat bayi yaitu sebanyak 17 orang (56,7%) dan mayoritas terampil dalam melakukan pijat bayi yaitu sebanyak 22 orang (73,3%). Kata Kunci : Pengetahuan, Keterampilan, Pijat Bayi  ABSTRACT In Indonesia, although the history of massage dates back to the ancestors of the past, the baby massage introduced is not a traditional massage performed by a baby shaman or a massage shaman whose massage is not safe. A popularized baby massage is a modern massage that blends scientific (health), art, and compassion. Baby massage will make the baby sleep better and increase alertness or concentration. This is because massage can alter brain waves. This conversion occurs by lowering alpha waves and increasing beta waves, as well as tetha which can be proven by the use of EEG (electroencephalogram). The purpose of the activity is to improve the knowledge and skills of mothers in performing baby massage in Pondok Kelapa Village, Pondok Nias, and Pondok Kemuning Kec. Langsa Baro Langsa City. The method of devotion used in this activity is a community education program through the education and training of baby massage in infants and toddler mothers. The results of community service that has been done by Lecturers of Prodi D-III Midwifery Langsa on September 30 to October 2, 2020, obtained the results of the majority of participants of community service have good knowledge about baby massage that is as many as 17 people (56.7%) and the majority are skilled in performing baby massage that is as many as 22 people (73.3%). Keywords: Knowledge, Skills, Baby Massage

Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Even in 65% of cases the first registered rhythm after cardiac arrest is ventricular fibrillation (VF) which can be restored to sinus rhythm by defibrillation. European Resuscitation Council guidelines (2010) highlight the importance of automated external defibrillator (AED) and encourage further AED program development and device installation in public places. The aim and methods: To assess public knowledge about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and capability of using AED in five largest cities of Lithuania. The anonymous survey was conducted in public areas (shopping malls, stations, city squares). Only adults (aged 18-65 years) who claimed to have knowledge about CPR were interviewed. Results: 130 (76.9%) of respondents described their knowledge about CPR as inadequate. In a hypothetical 3-step situation, where a person clenches fists over his chest and falls, only 16.6% of respondents would act correctly according to the guidelines. Only 29% (49) knew what AED was, those aware of AED – almost all correctly stated the principle of managing the device and indications of its usage. The main sources of information regarding AED: training at the office 28.6% (14), television 28.6% (14), driving courses 22.4% (11); about CPR – driving courses 70.4% (119), school 46.7% (79), television 26% (44) and training at the office 24.9% (42). 81.6% of respondents would participate in CPR and AED courses, if they were free of charge. Conclusions: Lithuanian‘s knowledge about CPR is insufficient, only every third person knows what AEDs are. Community education and training on CPR and AEDs use are needed. The majority of respondents would attend CPR and AED training if it was free of charge.

The administration of pro re nata medications is the responsibility of the nurse. However, ethical uncertainties often happen due to the inability of incapacitated patients to collaborate with the nurse in the process of decision making for pro re nata medication administration. There is a lack of integrative knowledge and insufficient understanding regarding ethical considerations surrounding the administration of pro re nata medications to incapacitated patients. Therefore, they have been discussed in this paper and practical strategies to avoid unethical practices have been suggested. The complicated caring situation surrounding the administration of pro re nata medications is intertwined with ethical issues affecting the consideration of the patient's wishes and interventions that override them. The patient's right of autonomy and treatment refusal, surrogacy role, paternalism, and coercion are the main ethos of ethical pro re nata medication administration. Education and training can help nurses avoid legal and ethical issues in pro re nata medicines management and improve the quality and safety of healthcare. Empirical research is needed to improve our understanding of this phenomenon in the multidisciplinary environment of medicines management.

Action programs dealing with unemployment problems, beth by sector and intersector, which were done in the past and those will be done in the future seems are unable to overcome the problems. This is becauce most of the programs were less attracted to the excepted participants (the unemployed). Almost all of the education and training programs offered materials only at introduction level, while in the job seeking competition the preference is a person with a master qualification or on expert in a certain job. The shift of the unemployed characteristics, from the less educated to be an educated one will also simply the action programs' type and level of education and training. It means that the programs should be designed to produce a skilled person or a master on their jobs.

Two recent developments show that higher education research is acquiring a strong global focus: In the first place the creation of the ESRC/HEFCE Centre for Global Higher Education, or CGHE, at the Institute of Education in the United Kingdom, with ten partner institutions around the world; and in the second place the creation of the Group of “Global Centers for International Higher Education Studies”, or GCIHES, in which the Center for International Higher Education collaborates with five other centers in the world, and which has its secretariat at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. These initiatives can be seen as a product of the “Shanghai Statement, The Future of Higher Education: The need for research and training for the higher education enterprise” in 2013. Where higher education research was in the past limited and mainly focused on national and regional aspects, like the sector itself, the shift is now towards international higher education. This is an important development.
