AbstractObjective:Emigrants face a high level of food insecurity. There is a wide research gap in the domain of identifying the determinants and problems of dietary acculturation in the context of emigrant students. This article attempts to study the factors affecting the dietary acculturation of African emigrant students in India.Design:For conducting a first-of-its-kind study for African emigrant students in India, we used field survey method, and the primary data were collected using a pre-structured questionnaire.Setting:This was a field survey conducted in Punjab (a state of India).Participants:One hundred and twenty African emigrant students participated in the survey. Results:Results of logistic regression indicated that food awareness (P = 0·027) and food suitability (P = 0·043) were the major determinants of dietary acculturation. Lack of familiarity and lack of proximity to food access points are the major problems faced by the African emigrant students. African emigrant students prepared for dietary acculturation largely only after coming to India. There is a significant positive correlation (P = 0·013) between problems faced by the respondents and tendency to prepare for acculturation after coming to India. Conclusions:Information regarding local food environment plays a significant role in dietary acculturation. There is a pertinent need to educate emigrant students regarding food availability and access by developing suitable educational content.

Among many solutions that can boost company innovativeness, co-creation is mentioned in the literature as one of them. This paper reports the findings of a pilot study conducted in China, Georgia, Poland, Romania, and Sri Lanka. The aim of the article is to find differences and similarities among respondents from different countries considering their attitude towards the process of co-creation. To gather primary data, a field survey method was adopted with a structured questionnaire. The target group of the survey consisted of university students, aged between 22 to 23 years old, who, by virtue of their psycho-physical characteristics, are more eager to share their experience and engage in various activities. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted from June to December 2016 among 500 university students. Despite the limited experience of respondents in co-creation, replies indicate their willingness, openness, and positive attitude towards co-creation.

The aim of this article was to identify the role of good mutual relationships with offerors for final purchasers, as well as define the meaning of the perception of offerors in the scope of listening to purchasers’ opinions and profiting from purchasers’ readiness to cooperate for the specificities of the prosumeric activity. A deep analysis of the world literature was used to prepare the theoretical part of this paper. The results of this analysis confirm the existing cognitive gap and research gap regarding mentioned aspects, including energy market. Empirical studies were conducted to reduce identified gaps. The survey method was used to collect primary data. The collected data were subjected to quantitative analysis, during which statistical analysis methods and tests were applied (Pearson chi-square independence test, V-Cramer factor analysis, Kruskal–Wallis test (KW), and exploratory factor analysis). The results of the statistical analysis and testing allowed the three research hypotheses formulated to be checked. Between the significance of good relationships with offerors and their perception, a statistically significant dependence was identified for all groups of offerors. The perception of offerors was a feature differentiating respondents’ opinions about the significance of good relationships with offerors for the two following groups: producers and traders. Additionally, the perception of offerors was a feature differentiating forms of prosumeric activity of respondents only for three interpurchase behaviors. The results obtained have a visible cognitive and applicability value. They contribute to the theory of marketing, as well as possibly facilitating the formation of good mutual relationships between offerors (including offerors of energy) and final purchasers as key partners cooperating with offerors in the marketing process. The approach presented in this paper has not been studied and analyzed so far, either in theoretical or in practical terms. This fact confirms its originality and value.

Accelerating the introduction of a new technological package is needed to increase the productivity of high elevation puddled rice in Humbang Hasundutan. The objectives of the study are to find out the perception of the existence of technological packages and farmers' preference for a new technological package. The study used a survey method with primary data gathered using questionnaires. The criteria of locations and respondents were used to obtain relevant respondents and data concerning their knowledge of high elevation puddled rice cultivation.  The collected data were processed by using Importance Performance Analysis in order to find out the level of Importance and Satisfaction of the indicators and the valued aspects in the technological package components. The results of the study showed that the socio-economic aspects had to be heeded in organizing the technological package. Indicators having a high level of importance and a low level of satisfaction consisted of production cost, quality of seeds, farmer groups empowerment, technology information institution, capital cost, agricultural tools and machines, pest control, sales price, irrigation canals, and farm roads. On the other hand, introducing new superior seeds, productivity attribute and planting age were important indicators for local farmers as to improve the quality of existing seeds. Farmers group expected that the technological package had a high level of productivity, better access to input, low cost, and good user-friendliness in its application.

The research is designed to assess the effect of restructuring and economic development in Nigeria. A review of the relevant literature and previous studies support the adoption of Marxist political economy theory as its theoretical framework while, survey method was adopted as its methodology. Oral interviews and questionnaire were employed in collecting primary data where as the analysis of data was executed using percentages. Among the findings, it was revealed by this study that the need for restructuring is for effective decentralization of political power and effective resource control and restructuring can also bring about proper allocation and equitable distribution of resources which will enhance economic development. It was therefore recommended that the Nigerian government should show a high level of readiness towards restructuring the economy by putting in place all the necessary structures needed for efficient distribution and utilization of resources also, the National Assembly should review the allocation formula to empower the second and third tiers of government in revenue generation as well as the citizenry should be sensitized to demand for zoning of political office to be included in ongoing constitutional review process.

The majority of soybean supply is fulfilled by importation and the import of soybean tends to increase. The dependency of Indonesia on imported soybean indeed becomes a serious issue in maintaining food security and local production of soybean is low and quite decreasing. The low domestic soybean production might be caused by the inappropriate used of inputs. Many cases found in the field are the inefficient uses of input factors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the soybean production and to analyze the optimal level of input use in soybean production. The study was conducted in the Sukahurip Village, Pangatikan Sub-District, Garut District, West Java in July 2018. The research method used was a survey method. The data used consisted of primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from samples of soybean farmers and samples of farmers were taken by a simple random sampling. The data were analyzed by Cobb Douglass`s Production function (to analyze factors affecting soybean production) and the NPM that was equal to BKM formula was used to determine the optimal level of inputs use. Factors influencing soybean production are land and seeds. Land use, seeds, and ZA fertilizer have not been used efficiently because of the limited land use and the use of substandard inputs. The addition of inputs to the optimal level is 1.36 hectares of land use and 52.7 kg of seeds that will maximize the profits. Keywords: efficiency, input, optimal, production, soybean

The article presents the findings from the study on the training facilities in Micro-Small-Medium Enterprises (MSME) for Self-Help Groups (SHG) in the Union Territory of Puducherry region. The research variables were adopted in accordance to the legal provisions of SHG. Primary data of 127 random sample of MSMEs was collected through a survey method using structured questionnaire. Results show that 63% of the MSME has not undertaken any training for their suppliers, while a good proportion of the companies consisting of 15.7% have provided between 1-2 trainings. The study argues that the policy maker should identify large number of economically development-oriented skills and include them in training programmes to encourage increased development of microenterprises.
