Identified the problem of increasing the efficiency of the collection device and the processing of information in telemetry monitoring systems and vibration diagnostics. The possibilities of CAD-programs for the calculation of vibro-impact processes and random vibration devices and printed circuit boards. A study of the frequency and random vibration study on the example of the PCB in SolidWorks environment. Abstract purpose, principle of operation, characteristics of the onboard telemetry information «Pyrite» system for measuring the parameters of aircraft, which are characterized by different phases and the duration of the flight telemetered site; It shows that the «Pyrite» equipment can be effectively used for the integrated telemetry information slowly evolving processes and rapidly changing processes of aircraft.

Although researchers have identified medications that relieve symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS), none are entirely effective and some persons with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) use alternatives. Our study compared cannabis use among PwMS (N = 135) and persons diagnosed with arthritis (N = 582) or cancer (N = 622) who were age 60 and older, enrolled in the State of Illinois Medical Cannabis Program, and invited to complete a survey fielded between June and September, 2019. We used logistic regression to identify significant differences in self-reported effects of cannabis on psychological wellbeing, quality of life, and three behavioral outcomes, and we also considered effects of past year opioid use relative to these outcomes. We found that the majority of individuals from all groups used cannabis to address pain and improve quality of sleep. While PwMS reported lower baseline levels across all five outcomes, we found that the reported effects of cannabis were largely comparable across the groups. We also found that cannabis benefitted persons with sleep and digestive issues regardless of condition, whereas persons who used opioids in addition to cannabis were less likely to experience an improvement in any of the outcomes. This comparative evaluation suggests that cannabis’ effects are not specific to MS, arthritis, or cancer as much as they impact processes common among these distinct conditions. We also found evidence that cannabis may be a viable alternative to opioids for those with these conditions and experiencing pain.

Howardite-Eucrite-Diogenite (HED) meteorite clan is a potential group of planetary materials which provides significant clues to understand the formation and evolution of the solar system. Grove Mountains (GRV) 13001 is a new member of HED meteorite, recovered from the Grove Mountains of Antarctica by the Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition. This research work presents a comprehensive study of the petrology and mineralogy, chemical composition, noble gas isotopes, cosmic-ray exposure (CRE) age and nominal gas retention age for the meteorite GRV 13001. The output data indicate that GRV 13001 is a monomict basaltic eucrite with typical ophitic/subophitic texture, and it consists mainly of low-Ca pyroxene and plagioclase with normal eucritic chemical compositions. The noble gas based CRE age of the GRV 13001 is approximately 29.9 ± 3.0 Ma, which deviates from the major impact events or periods on the HED parent body. Additionally, the U,Th-4He and 40K-40Ar gas retention ages of this meteorite are ~2.5 to 4.0 Ga and ~3.6 to 4.1 Ga, respectively. Based on the noble gases isotopes and the corresponding ages, GRV 13001 may have experienced intense impact processes during brecciation, and weak thermal event after the ejection event at approximately 30 Ma.

This paper presents the Risk Informed Decision-making Framework and software tool we developed that formally account for flood risk and uncertainty in reservoir operations. The framework and the software tool are intended for practical use by reservoir operations planners to manage flooding events. We present a robust and comprehensive approach that accounts for a multitude of flood risks and their impacts, and that enables its users to identify those alternative reservoir operating plans that formally adopt a state-of-the-art risk informed decision-making framework. Solidly grounded in and closely follows a well-structured planning process, the framework augments existing planning processes and information flows that incorporates specific techniques and methods from probabilistic risk analysis (PRA) and Multi-criteria Decision Analysis techniques (MCDA). Seven major hydropower companies and agencies in North America and Europe sponsored the development of the framework and the decision support tool. We present the results of a case study to illustrate the framework and the software system. We show that numerous advantages can be achieved using such tools over currently used approaches and that in the case of risky and high-impact processes, such as in the management of potentially high-consequence facilities such as storage reservoirs, management by a human operator is essential.

AbstractSmall–scale modeling of flow and impact of snow avalanches is demonstrated to be both feasible and accurate. Geometric, kinematic, and force variables are scaled correctly under equivalence of Froude number between prototype and model using sifted snow as the model fluid. Physical and computer–simulated impact processes show correspondence, so that computer modeling is demonstrated to be a viable tool in flow and impact predictions.
