The five independent variables was used include need for achievement, locus of control, self-efficacy, instrumental readiness, entrepreneurship experience. Sample in this research is students on Pattimura University totaling 160 people. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to measure this study. The results of this study indicate that need for achievement, locus of control, entrepreneurship experience have no effect on the intentions of entrepreneurial among students. Whereas instrumental readiness and self-efficacy variable has positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial intention between students of Pattimura University. PurposeThe present study undertook an empirical investigation of entrepreneurship education, self-efficacy, need for achievement and entrepreneurial intention among Pakistan's commerce students.Design/methodology/approachThe authors applied quantitative methods based on cross-sectional data. The commerce students of the different public sector universities are targeted through a random sampling technique. The authors used a survey questionnaire to attain the responses from respondents. Finally, 184 usable cases are utilized to assume the hypothesized paths.FindingsBy applying the structural equation modeling (SEM), the findings of the study demonstrate a significant positive effect of constructs of entrepreneurship education (EE), that is, opportunity recognition (OR) and entrepreneurship knowledge acquisition (EKA) on entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE), entrepreneurial intention (EI) and need for achievement (NFA). Besides, ESE and NFA are found to be the robust predictors of EI.Practical implicationsThe findings provide significant guidelines to policy-makers and university authorities for developing useful EE courses to uplift and boost students' skills to face today's considerable business and entrepreneurship challenges. The study also helps to generate eagerness among students in selecting entrepreneurship as a career option.Originality/valueThis study suggests the confirmation of EE's significant role in developing ESE, NFA and EI among commerce students.

The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between self-efficacy, need for achievement and Machiavellianism in public sector employees. It was hypothesized that there is likely to be a relationships in self-efficacy, need for achievement and Machiavellianism in public sector employees. It was hypothesized that self-efficacy and need for achievement likely to predict the Machiavellianism. The sample size of was (N=200) males selected from different public sector department of Lahore using the purposive sampling. The data was collected using New Generalized Self-efficacy Scale (Gully & Chen, 2001), Need for Achievement Scale (Jackson, 1974) and Mach IV scale (1970). Results revealed that the significant positive relationship between self efficacy, need for achievement and Machiavellianism. And self efficacy was the positive significant predictor of the Machiavellianism and need for achievement was the negative predictor of Machiavellianism. The present study helps to understand the predictors of Machiavellianism and that could help to eradicate this manipulation and deceptive behavior and could be used for improve interventions.

As to contribute to the literature on entrepreneurial intention, a survey was conducted on a sample of Croatian students and their entrepreneurial intentions, by using Ajzen's (1991) theory of planned behaviour. This theory determines intention through attitudes, behavioural control (self-efficacy), and social norms. Additional four determinants were investigated: role models, education, needs for achievement, and propensity towards risk. We propose that individuals exposed to role models and entrepreneurial education, as well as those who have a higher level of need for achievement and propensity towards risk, are more likely to set up a venture. The survey was conducted at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, University of Split, Croatia and the obtained data were analysed by using the structural equation modelling technique. A total of 160 survey responses from students were obtained. It was found that attitudes and propensity towards risk positively affect entrepreneurial intention. Surprisingly, self-efficacy and social norms, in addition to role models, education, and the need for achievement, failed to produce a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention.

The entrepreneurial intentions of individuals play a phenomenal role in establishment of new ventures, which in turn facilitates economic development. The study aims to identify the various dimensions of personality traits along with several other precursors of entrepreneurial intentions and investigates impact of the identified factors on entrepreneurial intentions of top five university students in India. The data for research were collected through a structured questionnaire employing a 7-point Likert scale based on purposive sampling technique. The identified constructs considered to be determinants of entrepreneurial intentions were need for achievement, locus of control, risk-taking propensity, innovativeness, self-efficacy, proactiveness, perseverance, entrepreneurial alertness and entrepreneurial attitude. The findings of the study reveal that ‘need for achievement’ was the most significant precursor of entrepreneurial intentions; whereas, ‘entrepreneurial alertness’ and ‘entrepreneurial attitude’ dimensions of personality traits were also found to have a positive correlation with entrepreneurial intentions of university students. Moreover, entrepreneurial alertness partially mediates the relationship between self-efficacy and proactiveness on the one hand and entrepreneurial intentions on the other.

The purpose of this research is to identify the difference entrepreneur intention college student management 2012-2013 and college student management 2013-2014 and identify the influence need for achievement, norma subjective, self-efficacy, and innovation variable, that was entrepreneur intention. This research used 167 respondents as samples. Primer data were used in this research. This research tested four independent variables, need for achievement, norma subjective, self-efficacy, and innovation variable, that was entrepreneur intention. This research is also to find out the effect of the difference entrepreneur intention college student management 2012-2013 and college student management 2013-2014 and the influence need for achievement, norma subjective, self-efficacy, and innovation variable, that was entrepreneur intentionby using mann-whitney u test and two-way linear regression method. The result of the research showed that no difference entrepreneur intention college student management 2012-2013 and college student management 2013-2014 and need for achievement, norma subjective, self-efficacy significantly affect entrepreneur intention, but innovation no significantly affect entrepreneur intention.

The aim of this study is to get an understanding of whether contemporary research on key determinants of employees’ personal initiative is applicable in the context of a developing Middle Eastern country in the midst of a tumultuous period in its history – a country in which, in spite of it all, life continues for its residents and the organisations that serve them. We collected survey data from 144 office workers of several organisations operating in Palestine to examine the relationship between personal initiative and a list of its theoretical determinants, namely: self-efficacy, need for achievement, perceived supervisor support and cultural orientation towards individualism. Our findings support the conclusions of contemporary research about the effects of self-efficacy and the need for achievement on personal initiative - thus indicating that Palestinian office workers are, in many respects, quite similar to their counterparts in other parts of the world. But our expectations regarding the link between perceived supervisor support, the cultural value of individualism and personal initiative are not supported by our findings.
