The coal as fired, with unidentified characteristics of the coal gangue, was burned on a 300MW circulating fluidized bed unit. The equipment of the coal conveying system was damaged and the boiler operation was unstable. In response to the problems, the coal quality data and storage conditions of the coal were examined and the site was spot-checked to evaluate the coal quality characteristics. At the same time, the typical representative parameters of the coal handling system and boiler operation were selected. According to the analysis of coal quality and coal storage, the coal quality fluctuates greatly and the uniformity of particle size distribution is poor. There is actually the coal gangue with hard texture and hard to grind in the coal pile. The coal gangue will have adverse effects on the fine screening machine, fine crusher and other equipment. After burned this type of coal, the fluidized quality of the boiler bed is degraded to make an impact on the safe and stable operation of the boiler. It is recommended that the coal should be screened and then burned into the furnace to ensure safe and stable operation of the boiler.

For study of technical difficulties that make Botswana first CFB (Circulating Fluidized Bed) boiler can’t reach full load at beginning of loading process, first experiments were carried out as awful experimental cases to analyze influencing factors; Second experiments were carried out as tentative experimental cases to select useful solutions; Third experiments were carried out as targeted experimental cases to execute chose solutions. Results indicate that one prominent difficulty during CFB boiler reaching full load is that boiler operation bed temperature was too high which was a comprehensive effect with some other influencing factors. CFB boiler bed temperature MFT (Main Fuel Trip) set point slight increasing, grain size changing of both start-up material and feeding coal, limestone injecting, fluidizing air of seal pot and FBHE appropriate controlling and FBHE (Fluid Bed Heat Exchanger) gradually start working are taken simultaneously, all these effective solutions solve the technical difficulties and accelerate the boiler reach full load, but attentions still need to be paid for the boiler stable operation permanently in future.

BP neural network can predict and establish a relationship between the parameters of boiler operation. Because this method has certain errors, so this paper presents a optimization method based on genetic algorithm. The method uses the genetic algorithm to optimize the key parameters of boiler operation and search out the maximum boiler efficiency taking advantages of genetic algorithm's global search function. According to optimization results obtained, the staff can adjust the parameters of the boiler and achieve the purpose of optimizing.

116MW circulating fluidized bed hot water boiler performance testing was carried out that found that burning high volatile lignite had post combustion phenomenon of separator yet. The phenomenon of post-combustion research results show that flue gas outlet temperature rise of the separation can be significantly reduced by adjusting the twelve wind ratio; Increasing coal-fired granularity which was able to reduce the separator post combustion phenomenon; Moderate post combustion of separation was able to improve boiler efficiency and reduce N2O. These results can provide guidance for improving boiler operation technology and improving the boiler design standard.

Fluidized bed technology is very suitable for the combustion of biomass Nevertheless substitution of coal with biomass affects boiler operation and especially dynamics and controllability. Non-homogeneity of biomass and fuel feeding disturbances cause process instability, such as variations in temperatures and pressures, which reduce lifetime of equipment and structures. Because of process instability higher air coefficient must be used in order to avoid CO emissions, which is not economical. Combustion profiles for coal, wood and peat, measured at the VTT Processes Pilot circulating fluidized bed reactor, have been compared. Process stability and char inventories have been studied by the measurements and the model. Biofuel are usually very reactive and their combustion profiles are quite different compared to coals. Because of high reactivity and low char content combustion process with biofuel is very sensitive for fuel feeding. Also low char inventory effect on load changes combined with combustion profile that differs from coals. Because of different combustion profile heat transfer can be a limiting factor in load changes despite the high reactivity and fast oxygen response.

The combustion technology of Circulating Fluidized Bed Boilers is a Cleaning and high efficent of Coal Powder Combustion technology. Traditional control methods can hardly get ideal control effect. To Realize datas reading and writing by self_control software throgh DCS, when coal quality, loading altered, realized automatic closed-loop control of combustion process of circulating fluidized bed, to implement primary air flow, secondary air flow and air-induced automatic cordinated control and reached cleaning of coal quality and combustion high efficiency.
