The article attempts to show the interconnections and evolution of the Chinese education system, to analyze the problems that the country faces in modernizing education, which is considered as the most important factor in the country's innovative development and nation consolidation. In its search for the most effective solutions, China relies on both borrowing successful foreign models of education and at the same time striving to revive its own cultural, historical and educational traditions and concepts. In the speeches of the Chinese leaders, the development of education plays an important role in the consolidation of the whole nation for the implementation of the national strategy for achieving world leadership by 2050. To realize this “Chinese dream” requires a lot of creatively thinking personalities. At present, in China there is a real contradiction between the government’s orientation to training personnel capable of creating new technologies and the practice of learning based on the mechanical storage of knowledge. The article shows what measures are being taken to change the consciousness and thinking of the younger generations of Chinese, how the model of school and university education is changing. The analysis confirms that the attitude to education as one of the most important life and cultural values has been preserved in Chinese society. After the events in Tiananmen Square (1989), ideological control over students and teachers intensified in the country. In general, the current educational policy is pragmatic and includes both the import of knowledge and technology from abroad, and the maintenance of Maoist ideals and traditional values.

The aim of the so-called ‘speed-up’ reform is to cut the time available for students to complete their university studies. One consequence of the reform is the increased requirement for flexibility within the Danish higher education system. To cope with the reform, the system will need to facilitate transfer of credits and make it easier for students to compose more personalized learning portfolios, which can include courses from different institutions and study programmes. The article discusses the possible implications of this new approach to steering students through the higher education system: What happens when we allow the individual student to compose a personal profile from different modules with no intentional progression between them? Will the students’ increased freedom serve to motivate them, make them complete their studies more quickly and make them more fit for the labour market like the Danish government presumes? Or will this be at the expense of leaving students with fragmented knowledge and superficial understandings as suggested by the critics?

The article is devoted to the study of the gender situation in education, as well as the need to abandon traditional stereotypes and find new non-standard approaches, as well as to expand the educational space for the best realization of the individuality of each individual.

A new approach is proposed for assessing the integrated indicator of the technogenic risk of accidents on the city territory. The indicator is determined by the values of the individual indicators: potential danger, security, and vulnerability of the territory. This approach allows us to assess the technogenic risk qualitatively and quantitatively and to take into account the complex of important factors affecting the safety of the city territory.

The article identifies and studies the features of the modern critical discourse of reforming the education system in Russia.  Based on the socio-philosophical method of cognition, the authors of the article aim to identify and analyze a number of dangers in the modern education system of Russia that pose a threat to its full development, since they impede the training of highly qualified specialists and mature responsible individuals.  The article suggests measures to eliminate the identified dangers and generally optimize the modern innovative development of the education system. The authors of the article believe that the development of the education system should in practice become the most important priority of state policy so that the latter provides an effective governing influence on the development of the educational space. This means that in the education system it is necessary to timely identify real and potential dangers, analyze them in detail and, accordingly, develop effective tools to eliminate these dangers and optimize the further safe development of the educational space. The education system in Russia will only then be able to train highly qualified specialists and mature responsible individuals when it eliminates the dangers (deviations from safe development standards).

Indeed, any strategy for change must contend with the diverse factors affecting the education system, the interactions of its parts, and the intricate interdependencies within it and with its environment. As we consider these problems, we become increasingly cognizant of the various possibilities of using concepts and methods of the study of complex systems for providing direction and strategies to facilitate the introduction of viable and successful changes. A key insight from complex systems is that simple solutions are not likely to be effective in cases such as the education system, and that providing a balance or coexistence of what seem to be opposites may provide the greatest opportunities for successful courses of action. In the following we consider.Integrating the commonly polarized goals of education; i.e. the goal that focuses on transmitting knowledge with the goal that emphasizes the development of the individual student. Adapting teaching to different student characteristics by using diverse methods of teaching.

Problem setting. The development of society is constant. New technologies require the formation of skills that affect both professional and domestic activities of people. Employers seek to select employees who will be interested in their professional activities, which will contribute to the personal development of the individual and will have a positive impact on the work of the enterprise.             Recent research and publications analysis. In the works of sociologists, the process of self-development of the individual, which contributes to his promotion by professional ladder, is defined as a "career". The analysis of literature sources shows that over time, the interpretation of this concept changes somewhat, acquires new approaches, but its conceptual essence, however, is not definitively defined. Paper objective. This article aims to define the conceptual meaning of the concepts of “career” and “career strategies” based on the definitions proposed by researchers from different eras.             Paper main body. The analysis allowed to identify two main conceptual approaches to the concept of “career”, according to which the conceptual essence of career is the individual’s desire for professional self-development, which is reflected in his professional activities, on the one hand, and on the other, life - this is a career, so the standard of living and success directly depend on the level of activity of the individual, his desire to develop.             Career strategy is a model of behavior that an individual chooses during professional growth. The literature offers many variations of this definition and classification of models of career strategies, but the most complete and generalized is the classification proposed by E. Shane and the conceptual essence of the concept of “career strategy” is reduced to a conscious choice of behavior by the individual both in the professional sphere and in life in general. Sociological research shows that the model of career strategy is a direct reflection of the behavior and lifestyle of the individual in his professional activities, which affects and determines the rate of career growth. Conclusions of the research. Analysis of scientific publications and scientific works allows to characterize the term “career”, in a conceptual sense, in two perspectives, the first of which is formed on the basis of definitions proposed by the classics of sociology, and characterizes it as a process of professional growth. and from another point of view, which is defined by both foreign and domestic sociologists of the twentieth century, life is a career, it is a continuous movement in a certain direction of professional and personal growth. “Career strategy”, according to the generalized definitions, is a model of an individual's behavior during his movement up the career ladder, which determines the speed of the individual’s development, the ability to succeed in his career and personal life.
