The nonprofit sector has been critiqued for failing to systematically develop leadership to meet the sector’s professionalizing needs. The personal profile of who sits in the nonprofit executive position can be insightful about what experience and training have been deemed appropriate for nonprofit leadership and may reveal career pathways to the executive position. In this paper, the career backgrounds of 185 nonprofit association executives are reported upon, investigating if the credentials and experience held by these executives helped expedite their career pathway to the top position. The findings indicate that nonprofit sector experience was a significant predictor of time to the executive position, but that other career variables, such as education, credentials, and other previous experiences did not significantly impact the time to the position. This study adds to what we know about the professionalization of the nonprofit sector and raises questions about what signals readiness for the sector’s executive position.

Wrocław deputies to the Silesian provincial assembly (1824–1921) — an evolution? The paper focuses on the personal profile, professional background, and length of tenure of deputies to the provincial assembly in Silesia representing the province’s capital almost throughout the entire period of the assembly’s functioning, i.e. from its establishment in 1824 until the end of the term of the last Landtag of Imperial Germany. The observations and inquiries contained in the paper make it possible to present the life stories of the deputies to the provincial Landtag in Silesia. The background of these life stories was provided by significant transformations of the political system in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. The fate of the Landtag was part of the general history of Germany, especially Prussia and as a result the systemic transformation of the analysed institution stemmed straight from these events; these were not rapid changes, but a process unfolding across over one hundred years. The subject matter and chronological framework of the paper have not been chosen accidentally. So far authors of the literature on the subject have been interested mainly in the administrative apparatus of the executive power in Prussia in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; the system of self-government and its legislative bodies, that is provincial assemblies, has not attracted much interest of scholars. Only partial studies have been published, examining selected aspects of the history of parliamentarism in Prussian provinces in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. That is why the author has chosen to follow the functioning of the personal profile, shaped in the 1810s, as well as major manifestations of the activity of Wrocław deputies to the provincial assembly in Silesia. Yet no evolution of deputies, mentioned in the title, has been demonstrated. In the three periods of the Landtag’s existence they were municipal officials and representatives of the economic elite. Jahrhundert an.

In today’s world as the population increases day by day the numbers of vehicle also increases on the roads and highways. This results in more accident because of rider’s poor behaviors such as speed driving, drunk driving, riding without helmet protection, riding without sufficient sleep etc. In most of the accident cases, the victims loses their lives because of unavailability of medical facilities instantly. The critical time between the accident and getting victim medical help can be the difference between life and death. It is very difficult to know that an accident has occurred and to locate position where it has happened. To solve this problem “Accident Detection and Alert System” is used to save lives by making the medical facilities arriving on time. To resolve this problem we are developing a wireless system using Accelerometer, GPS and GSM for accident detection and reporting. If any accident occurs, this wireless device will send automated message and call the police, family members giving the exact position where the crash had occurred. So they can provide proper help to victim. This system is used to report information related to accident location and personal profile. Personal profile contains name, blood group, address, phone number of family members. So it will be easy to provide help and identify the victim.

This empirical study is an attempt to reveal the role of some chosen electronic human resource management (E-HRM) practices on the operational efficiency (OE) in Bangladeshi garment sector. The authors selected six such E-HRM practices (e-job analysis, e-recruitment & selection, e-compensation & benefit, HRIS & e-communication, e-personal profile and e-performance appraisal) as the independent variables and OE as the single dependent variable. The research was carried out with a valid sample size of 299 mid & supervisor level managers and 228 top level managers of 54 garment factories of Bangladesh using convenience technique. A structured measurement instrument was used to collect primary data from those respondents. Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis were utilized (using SPSS 24) to test the hypothesized relationships. Results after a vigilant and comprehensive statistical analysis exposed that all the selected independent variables have positive relationships with the dependent variable (OE). However, such positive relationships are stronger (significant) in case of e-compensation & benefit, HRIS & e-communication, e-personal profile and e-performance appraisal whereas such positive relationships are comparatively weaker (insignificant) in case of e-recruitment & selection and e-job analysis. The authors are optimistic that the conclusion of this empirical study will be helpful for academicians having intention to further explore the relationship between E-HRM practices and operational efficiency. They also believe that this study will be proven valuable for managerial decision makers of different manufacturing firms desire to reduce costs and adopt environment friendliness to gain competitive advantages over the rivals.

A successful career requires improving professional skills and developing business relationships. A personal profile in professional social networks and its proficient management can have a significant impact on career development. The article is devoted to investigating the impact of a specialists profile in professional social networks on the career development. The study analyses the statistical data on the use of social networks for recruiting. The relationship between a profile in professional social networks and the development of a specialist's career was investigated by conducting a sociological survey of networks users from various fields of activities. Most of the surveyed respondents (61 %) answered positively to the question about the benefits of professional social networks for career advancement, another part of the respondents (19 %) is not sure, but tends to answer positively. Only 11 % of the respondents are inclined to give a negative answer to this question and 1 % answered negatively, pointing out the uselessness of professional networks in their careers. Thus, the study confirmed the need to apply the profile for the development of a specialist's career. The advantages of a profile in professional networks are highlighted, allowing the development of effective professional communications: users of social professional networks, actively participating in forum discussions, publishing papers on the site, can attract attention of potential employers and develop their reputation. The authors propose to use a profile in a professional social network more widely in order to develop a specialist's career.
