The length-weight and condition factor can be used as an indicator of the condition for fish growth and to determine the suitability of the environment. The research objective was to evaluate the relationship between length-weight and condition factor of Hamilton's thryssa fish (Thryssa hamiltonii) from Pabean Bay West Java Indonesia. The researchers have been carried out to analyze the two essential parameters: the lengthweight relationship that can be used to evaluate and investigate stock density and condition factor of Hamilton's thryssa fish (Thryssa hamiltonii). A total of 195 fish samples were collected over the 8th month from the sea estuary and measured and weighed during a field survey conducted from April to December 2015. Samples of fish were collected using gillnet and set net. The total length of the fish ranged from 47-186 mm, with body weights ranging from 0.47 - 45.37 g. The results of the length-weight relationship were shown as regression was Y = 7E-07 X3.4339 or W = 7.45 x 10−7.L3.43389, and the condition factors ranged from 0.77 to 1.39. These research results indicated that the growth pattern of Hamilton's Thryssa fish (Thryssa hamiltonii) was positive allometric.

The size composition, length-weight relationship, and condition factor of Thunnus albacares were examined in Bone Bay. Sampling was conducted at two stations, i.e., Station I at Cimpu in Luwu Regency and Station II at Lonrae in Bone Regency between July 2018 and June 2019. 10246 and 2651 yellowfin tunas were captured in Station I and Station II, respectively. Measurement of the fork length ranged between 20 cm and 192 cm with an average length of 81,257 ± 33,456 cm in Station I, and between 26 to 162 cm with an average length of 95,479 cm in Station II. The weight measurement ranged between 0,35 and 99,21 kg with an average of 14,539 kg in Station I, and between 0,46 and 97,35 kg with an average of 26,978 kg in Station II. Calculation of the relationship was based on the formula W= 5,5−5FL2,7454 (R2 = 0,963) in Station I, and W=4,1−5FL2,9103 (R2 = 0,761) in Station II. The values of condition factor at Station I and Station II were 2,1395 and 3,4374, respectively. It is quite evident that the growth pattern of the yellowfin tunas at Bone Bay was negatively allometric, indicating that the length increased faster than the weight.

Length-weight relationship (LWR), growth pattern and condition factor (CF) play a vital role in fish resource evaluation and management but data on this is limited for Periophthalmus variabilis. This is an amphibious fish that lives in the mudflats of the mangrove forests in the Western Pacific regions, including the Vietnamese Mekong Delta (VMD). This paper contributes to the understanding of the LWR, growth pattern and CF of P. variabilis. Fish specimens were collected by hand at four sites in the VMD from April 2020 to March 2021. The analysis of 495 individual fish (259 females and 236 males) showed that fish weight could be estimated from a given fish length due to high determination values (r2 = 0.70 − 0.97). Dusky-gilled mudskippers of the VMD exhibited positive allometry, as indicated by their larger than 3 b value (b = 3.094 ± 0.045, p = 0.04). However, the growth pattern of the mudskipper between the sex and maturation stage (immature versus mature) showed isometry. These fish displayed positive allometry in the dry season (b = 3.138 ± 0.065) (>3, p = 0.04) but isometry in the wet season (b = 3.058 ± 0.061) (≈3, p = 0.34). Fish growth ranged from isometry to positive allometry and varied by site (b = 2.850 ± 0.103–3.370 ± 0.114) and month (b = 2.668 ± 0.184–3.588 ± 0.299) based on the b value. The CF of P. variabilis was not affected by sex (p = 0.29), body size (p = 0.64) or season (p = 0.43), but was affected by site (p = 0.01) and month (p = 0.01). The CF of this species (1.05 ± 0.02) was higher than 1 (p < 0.001), indicating that the fish adapted well to their habitat.

Understanding of morphometric variation, length-weight relationship, and condition factors needed to support fishery resources management and conservation. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the morphometric variation, length-weight relationship, and condition factors of the Holocentridae family landed at the Lampulo Ocean Fishing Port, Banda Aceh. A total of 50 each of the four species of fish (Myripristis berndty, Myripristis murdjan, Sargocentron tieroides and Sargocentron caudimacullatum) were collected during April 2020. Fish samples were obtained from the catch of fishermen who landed at the Lampulo Ocean Fishing Port, Banda Aceh. The parameters analyzed included morphometric variations (12 characters), length and weight frequency distribution, length-weight relationship and condition factors. The results showed that the genus Myripristis had more distinguishing characters than the genus Sargocentron, namely 50.00% and 16.66%, respectively. Myripristis berndty and Myripristis murdjan have 5 distinguishing characters (SL, HL, CPL, HD, PFL and VFL), while Sargocentron tieroides and Sargocentron caudimacullatum only have 2 distinguishing characters (SnL and PFL). The Myripristis genus that were collected tended to more length and heavier compared to the genus Sargocentron. The four spesies of Holocentridae studied had a negative allometric growth pattern (b<3) with condition factor values ranging from 0.787 to 1.417.Pemahaman terkait variasi morfometrik, hubungan panjang bobot dan faktor kondisi sangat diperlukan dalam rangka pengelolaan dan konservasi sumberdaya perikanan.

Fish found in natural tropical and sub-tropical water system experience frequent growth fluctuations. The study was conducted to determine the length-weight relationship and condition factor of Clariid species (Clarias gariepinus, Heterobranchus longifilis and Synodontis clarias) in Kano state of Nigeria. About 177 fish samples were collected from six rivers (Thomas, Ghari, Tiga, Duddurun-Gaya, Karaye and Bagwai) across the length and breadth of Kano state. Body weight (BW=248.48g), total length (TL=32.74cm) and standard length (SL=26.16cm) were determined. The length-weight relationship and condition factors were also determined. The condition factors showed varying degree of well-being of fish sampled from their habitat, and ranged from K = 0.37 to 0.89. The equation for the lengthweight relationship for the three strains is: C. gariepinus = -329.86+17.56TL, H. longifilis = -241.49+14.28TL and C. clarias = -428.51+22.72TL. Body weight and length had positive and significant relationship (r = 0.73 TL; r = 0.75 SL).
