Compressor stations are important components within natural gas transportation networks. The current paper analyses some of the safety aspects involved in the operation of such facilities – on the one hand related to the explosion risk for employees working in compressor stations and on the other hand related to determining to the areas with increased explosion hazard in such a station, in order to help reducing work-related accidents and the occurrence of professional illnesses. The explosion risk is determined based on a method devised by the National Institute for Research and Development for Environmental Protection Bucharest, while the explosion hazard areas are determined and displayed with the help of the software package AutoCAD Plant 3D.

The Aviation Group of the Ministry of Technology (formerly the Ministry of Aviation) is responsible for spending a large part of the country's defence budget, both in research and development on the one hand and production or procurement on the other. In addition, it has responsibilities in many non-defence fields, mainly, but not exclusively, in aerospace.Few developments have been carried out entirely within the Ministry's own Establishments; almost all have required continuous co-operation between the Ministry and Industry. In the past the methods of management and collaboration and the relative responsibilities of the Ministry and Industry have varied with time, with the type of equipment to be developed, with the size of the development project and so on. But over the past ten years there has been a growing awareness of the need to put some system into the complex business of translating a requirement into a specification and a specification into a product within reasonable bounds of time and cost.

AbstractThe paper reviews the last IMIA-WG6 recommendations, issued along two themes: (1) how to better share common results and (2) how to conduct new research and development efforts. Some of the major discrepancies in the field are reviewed. The paper intends to offer insight into two areas, first, in the issue of knowledge representation and, second, in the science of meaning, incorporating the broad intersection of computational linguistics, semantics, conceptual approach, and denotation. The Ogden-Richards meaning triangle is used as a convenient organizing principle to maximize the scope of understanding among the different schools, particularly in areas of linguistics and semantics on the one side and denotation and conceptual approach on the other. In conclusion, there is a need for clarification and for more scientific pragmatism.

Background. Previously we have been shown that between parameters of GDV and principal neuroendocrine factors of adaptation exist strong canonical correlation. In the next study, we detected very strong (R=0,994) integral canonical correlation between the parameters of GDV and Immunity. This study, conducted in the same contingent, will analyze the relationships between GDV parameters, on the one hand, and Phagocytosis parameters, on the other. Material and Methods. We observed twice ten women and ten men aged 33-76 years without clinical diagnose. In the morning in basal conditions at first registered kirlianogram by the method of GDV by the device “GDV Chamber” (“Biotechprogress”, SPb, RF). Than we estimated the parameters of Phagocytic function of neutrophils. Results processed by method of canonical analysis, using the software package “Statistica 5.5”. Results. According to the value of the canonical correlation coefficient R with GDV parameters, the registered Phagocytosis parameters are arranged in the following order: activity (0,616), bactericidal capacity (0,493), completeness (0,489) and intensity (0,484) of Phagocytosis of E. coli; completeness (0,482), bactericidal capacity (0,448), activity (0,364) and intensity (0,338) of Phagocytosis of Staph. aureus. Coefficient of canonical correlation between parameters of GDV, on the one hand, and Phagocytosis, on the other hand, makes 0,847. Conclusion. The above data, taken together with the previous ones, state that between parameters of Neuroendocrine-Immune complex and GDV exist strong canonical correlation suggesting suitability of the latter method.

Background. Previously we have been shown that exist strong canonical correlation between parameters of GDV and principal neuroendocrine factors of adaptation as well as parameters of leukocytogram, immunity and phagocytosis. This study, conducted on a much expanded contingent, will analyze the relationships between GDV parameters, on the one hand, and the parameters of acupuncture points (APs), EEG, HRV and adaptation hormones, on the other. Material and Methods. We observed twice 31 women and 29 men aged 26-76 years with dysfunction of neuroendocrine-immune complex. In the morning in basal conditions at first registered kirlianogram by the method of GDV by the device “GDV Chamber” (“Biotechprogress”, SPb, RF). Than we registered simultaneously EEG and HRV and recorded electrical conductivity of three pairs of Aps. Finally, a blood sample was taken to determine the plasma levels of the main hormones of adaptation: cortisol, testosterone and triiodothyronine. Results processed by method of canonical analysis, using the software package “Statistica 64”. Results. The coefficient of canonical correlation between the electrical conductivity of APs and gas-discharge image (GDI) parameters is 0,635; between APs and virtual Chakras parameters – 0,614; instead, between APs and GDV parameters as a whole – 0,707. The autonomic-endocrine constellation is somewhat more strongly associated with GDI parameters than with virtual Chakras parameters (0,769 vs 0,712). Additional inclusion of EEG parameters in the neuroendocrine set increases the strength of the canonical correlation to 0,869. Conclusion. The above data, taken together with the previous ones, state that between parameters of neuroendocrine-immune complex and GDV exist strong canonical correlation suggesting suitability of the latter method.

The empirical goal of this paper is to conduct an analysis of the geopolitical dimensions of the TurkStream pipeline, with special consideration given to its determinants as well as a diagnosis of the geopolitical implicationsof its geographical extent. To explore this problem, the following hypotheses are offered. First, the inauguration of the second branch of the TurkStream pipeline in the beginning of 2020 will strengthen the monopolistic positionof Russia as a supplier of natural gas to the countries of the European Union. This will increase the dependency of the EU on Russia and severely hamper itsability to formulate a unified, cohesive energy policy. Second, two factors that underlie the geopolitical importance of the TurkStream pipeline are Turkey’s and Southern Europe’s natural gas needs on the one hand and the political and economic interests of Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine on the other. Third, theTurkStream project should be seen as an instrument that serves to build a tactical partnership between Turkey and Russia – a partnership underpinned by the strategic interests of both countries in the Middle East. Fourth and finally, Russia’s gradual withdrawal from directing its natural gas through Ukraine will generate serious economic problems and potential energy shortages in that country. In the long term, this pressure is geared toward forcing Ukraine to re-evaluate the pro-Western trajectory of its foreign policy.

In cancer medicine, particularly in drug research and development, structural changes in professionalism can be observed as examples. This field is characterized by a strong tension between social expectations concerning the control of existential risks to health, on the one hand, and strong commercial interests of a shareholder value-driven industry, on the other hand. Based on a qualitative empirical analysis, two subfields within the field of cancer medicine are reconstructed. One of these subfields—colon cancer therapy—could be interpreted as representing a renewal of the knowledge-power nexus. The pattern of the other subfield—brain tumour research—refers to a much more vulnerable professionalism. Both fields are characterized by development in professional work, which could be described with the hybridization concept. Therefore, the contrast between the two empirical examples presented still challenges the theoretical interpretation of contemporary professionalism.

Advertising and research and development (R&D) benefit firms by increasing sales and shareholder value. However, when a firm is in bankruptcy, the cumulative effects of its past advertising and R&D can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they increase the firm’s expected future cash flow, which increases the likelihood that the bankruptcy court will decide the firm can survive. On the other hand, they increase the liquidation value of the firm’s assets, which decreases the likelihood that the bankruptcy court will decide that the firm can survive. The author argues that the ability of advertising and R&D to either increase or decrease bankruptcy survival is contingent on the influence that the firm’s suppliers have, relative to other creditors, on the bankruptcy court’s decision. Advertising and R&D increase (decrease) bankruptcy survival when suppliers have a high (low) level of influence. Empirical analyses, conducted on 1,504 bankruptcies, show that advertising (R&D) increases bankruptcy survival when at least 35%−38% (18%−21%) of the bankrupt firm’s debt has been borrowed from suppliers, whereas it decreases bankruptcy survival below this point. Out-of-sample machine learning validation shows that the ability to predict whether a bankrupt customer will survive is substantially improved by considering the firm’s advertising and R&D.

This experiment consists of two parts. On the one hand is about the concentration of Variation of exhaust gas when heated potteries .On the other hand is about the compared between the potteries (Tang Dynasty) heated by natural gas catalytic combustion furnace and the traditional firing of the glaze. The potteries fired by catalytic combustion furnace could be used for decorating are not only more fine and glossy than the traditional, but also more translucent. Therefore, the potteries made by catalytic combustion furnace will be applied in decoration industries, such as decorative murals.
