Labour market or supply and demand for labour is determined by how individuals demand work (supply) and how the offer of jobs is from the side of companies (demand). This is a very important issue, as it is a part of the main factor markets. The data on labour market are used for analysing the movement of labour market. Thanks to this, it is possible to forecast its approximate development. The basic source are data from the database of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. The objective of this paper is to analyse the development of supply and demand for labour in the years 2010-2020 and forecast its development until 2025. The analysis of time series is performed using the method of artificial neural networks, which enables the analysis of the development between 2010 and 2020 and forecasting the further development of supply and demand for labour until the year 2025. The research shows that the development until the year 2025 will not be very favourable. The demand will be much greater than the supply, which means there will be more vacancies than workers. To fill the vacancies and be able to further operate, companies will try to solve this situation by hiring workers from other countries. The results of the paper being submitted may serve for other labour market research.

AbstractIn social policy discussions about activation or ALMP (Active Labour Market Policies), most attention is paid to supply-side approaches, directed towards jobless individuals. In these discussions, little attention is given to demand-side approaches aimed at activating employers, or combined workplace-oriented approaches that combine supply and demand-side elements. The aim of this article is to introduce demand-side and combined approaches developed within the fields of disability policy and vocational rehabilitation to scholarly discussions about activation and ALMP.By comparing these three approaches, we show that demand-side and combined approaches challenge key assumptions underlying the dominant supply-side approaches. They do so by representing different views of a) work – as a right instead of a duty; b) the problem of reduced work capacity – not as individual failure, but rather as a prejudice in attitudes among employers or as a gap between capacities and demands; c) the employers and the labour market – as transformable instead of fixed.Supply-side, demand-side and combined workplace-oriented approaches share the aim of labour market integration; however, their developments seem to have taken place largely in isolation from each other. We argue that when brought together they could form a more comprehensive base for further development of labour market integration.

The paper deals with the analysis of labour market in the Czech Republic with respect to unemployment considering other countries of EU and existing economic development. Evaluation has been carried out of the specific development of labour market, employment and unemployment in the Czech Republic in the period 1993–2008, incl. possible causes and trends of the development and international comparison of selected characteristics of labour market using adequate quantitative methods. Analysis of the Czech labour market during the period of its existence includes the eva­lua­tion of supply and demand in the labour market. The most important causes were monitored of changes in the supply in the labour market affected by the demographic development and social environment and substantial causes of changes in the demand in the labour market, which were affected by the performance of the given economics, by the growth of labour productivity and the number of available jobs. This is followed by assessing the development of unemployment in the Czech Republic and European Union. Substantial aspects were identified of the development of labour market and unemployment in the Czech Republic and EU as a whole and trends of the future development were indicated in the studied area. The international comparison of selected characteristics of labour market in the member countries of EU carried out by means of quantitative methods allowed to assess high differences among unemployment rates in this community and created another information source regarding the position of the Czech Republic in the European Union during the selected reference period. Significant differences in unemployment between all member countries point out to marked structural or institutional differences in labour markets in particular countries. Only a negligible percentage out of the total economically active population in the European Union migrates over the border of its member countries. This situation only augments a durable long-term unemployment growth in particular countries. Beside the insufficient labour force movement throughout Europe a next important problem in structural unemployment presents e.g., the incongruity in qualifications between supply and demand on the labour market. The current financial and economic crisis has cut at all previous positive unemployment development during a few months.

The transport sector has a significant impact on the performance of the Czech economy. Transport companies, of course, have their own specificities, whether they deal with ecology or the financial and economic situation. It is precisely the economic position of a transport company that needs to be analysed in order to identify the need for change, to predict the further development of such company. For analysis, a variety of methods is used, of which artificial neural networks are a very interesting and effective tool. The aim of this paper is to make a cluster analysis of transport companies operating in the Czech Republic based on this tool. The data of the financial statements of transport companies in the Czech Republic in 2016 are taken into account. Only some items from the financial statements are selected for analysis. The file is then subjected to a cluster analysis, specifically using the Kohonen networks – Statistica software. In accordance with the methodology of the contribution, the data is divided into three sets - training, testing and validation. Companies were divided into clusters in the 10x10 Kohonen Map. Some clusters are significant in terms of number of companies. These clusters are further analysed. Specific conclusions are made: A larger company generates, on average, a higher operating profit, larger companies achieve higher ROE and, in the case of a larger company, the financial leverage acts more positively.

AbstractThe Research Data Centre at the Institute for Employment Research (RDC-IAB) has been offering high-quality administrative and survey data on the German labour market for 15 years and has become one of the most important locations worldwide for researchers interested in data for labour market research. This article provides an overview of the RDC-IAB, including its data and access modes. The article presents two datasets in more detail: the Sample of Integrated Employment Biographies, a classic dataset, and the Linked Personnel Panel, a new dataset. Finally, this article provides insights into future infrastructure and data developments.

With the massive use of computers, the growth and explosion of data has greatly promoted the development of artificial intelligence (AI). The rise of deep learning (DL) algorithms, such as convolutional neural networks (CNN), has provided radiation oncologists with many promising tools that can simplify the complex radiotherapy process in the clinical work of radiation oncology, improve the accuracy and objectivity of diagnosis, and reduce the workload, thus enabling clinicians to spend more time on advanced decision-making tasks. As the development of DL gets closer to clinical practice, radiation oncologists will need to be more familiar with its principles to properly evaluate and use this powerful tool. In this paper, we explain the development and basic concepts of AI and discuss its application in radiation oncology based on different task categories of DL algorithms. This work clarifies the possibility of further development of DL in radiation oncology.

Formative market research is the first step in developing evidence-based sanitation marketing programs. In Malawi, the design, implementation and evaluation of rural sanitation marketing programs has been limited. This study applied a mixed methodological approach to examine the dynamic interactions between the supply and demand of sanitation in three rural districts. The supply assessment identified an extremely limited range of latrine options. Sanitation suppliers reported very low household demand for their existing latrine options. An additional constraint reported by suppliers was householders' perception of a hardware subsidy for latrine construction. The demand assessment found a key constraint of constructing an unlined pit latrine was their short time-in-use (11–13 months). Householders expressed despondency at having to consistently rebuild collapsed, unlined pit latrines. For brick-lined latrines, a key barrier was affordability combined with an over-estimation of construction costs. Key motivations to construct brick-lined latrines included product attributes and social drivers. Wide variations in access to income and use of micro-finance organizations were recorded within and across the study sites. Formative market research is an iterative process from which new lines of investigation arise. This study provides information that will provide a foundation for the ongoing research, design, implementation and monitoring of rural sanitation marketing programs in Malawi.

The databases of Iran’s electricity market have been storing large sizes of data. Retail buyers and retailers will operate in Iran’s electricity market in the foreseeable future when smart grids are implemented thoroughly across Iran. As a result, there will be very much larger data of the electricity market in the future than ever before. If certain methods are devised to perform quick search in such large sizes of stored data, it will be possible to improve the forecasting accuracy of important variables in Iran’s electricity market. In this paper, available methods were employed to develop a new technique of Wavelet-Neural Networks-Particle Swarm Optimization-Simulation-Optimization (WT-NNPSO-SO) with the purpose of searching in Big Data stored in the electricity market and improving the accuracy of short-term forecasting of electricity supply and demand. The electricity market data exploration approach was based on the simulation-optimization algorithms. It was combined with the Wavelet-Neural Networks-Particle Swarm Optimization (Wavelet-NNPSO) method to improve the forecasting accuracy with the assumption Length of Training Data (LOTD) increased. In comparison with previous techniques, the runtime of the proposed technique was improved in larger sizes of data due to the use of metaheuristic algorithms. The findings were dealt with in the Results section.

To ensure success in promoting entrepreneurship among the unemployed it is critical to provide effective government support for those citizens who wish to start their own business, create favourable environment, including relevant financial, lending, tax policies, etc. Apparently, due to inconsistent SME legislation, high tax burden, uncertainty in business development, the effectiveness of vocational entrepreneurial training for the unemployed remains low. The paper provides an overview of unemployment rate by age along with the analysis of contemporary labour market trends in the context of implementating specific technology of vocational training for the unemployed. The research findings evidence that rapid technological changes challenge dramatic effects globally, thus triggering the need for totally new skills and professions. This situation in the labour market drives a particular focus to the latest learning technology advances, education marketing development, designing study programs for employable population of Ukraine to ensure new skills and competences building. Recent dramatic changes in Ukraine’s education system, further evolution of education services market and progressive marketing learning technologies implementation contribute to transforming education into a growing and promising sector of the economy which year by year increase the size of supply and demand for education services. Currently, the education services market as a public sphere drives media to establish and maintain strong and close relationships between its participants. In conclusion it is emphasized that modern institutions of higher education cannot be imagined without mediated patterns and diverse forms of communication as well as special tools to enhance communication between its various actors.
