The chromosome complement was assessed in Merino sheep embryos collected at 3 and 5 days after the onset of oestrus. Donor ewe treatments were: untreated, or immunized against androstenedione (day 3); and untreated, or treated with follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), or treated with FSH plus immunization against androstenedione (day 5). No significant differences in the frequency of chromosomally abnormal embryos between treatment groups within each age group were observed, so the data have been combined. Euploid abnormalities were observed in 10�8070 of the day-3 embryos (4/37), with the abnormalities being one In, one 3n and two 5n. Embryos with euploidy (10%) were also observed at day 5, with three 1n12n mosaics and a 3n embryo present in a sample of 40. These data suggest that chromosomally aberrant embryos are not lost before day 5 of development.

AbstractWe measured serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and prolactin concentrations on a bioMérieux Mini Vidas system in a pediatric population ranging in age from 1 to 19 years. Reference intervals were established separately for females and males, with stratification by age group and by Tanner's pubertal stage. FSH values were higher in females than in males, and were lowest in both sexes of age class 2 (4–8 years), increasing thereafter to the upper limit for stage PIV (females) and stage PV (males). LH values showed a similar pattern of change: concentrations were lowest for class 1 (1–3 years) and class 2 (4–8 years), and highest for stage PII (females) and stage PV (males). No significant difference was observed according to gender. Prolactin values did not differ markedly according to gender or pubertal status.Clin Chem Lab Med 2007;45:541–5.

The use of bovine embryo transfer to increase the reproductive potential of animals with high genetic merit is unquestionable. However, studies that evaluate the response to exogenous FSH stimulation in Red Sindhi cows are rare. Therefore, the objective of this study was to compare the superovulatory response of Red Sindhi cows treated with 3 different doses of FSH (Folltropin®-V, Bioniche Animal Health, Belleville, Ontario, Canada). The animals used had body condition scores ranging from 3.5 to 4.0 (1-5 scale), were between 6 and 10 years of age, and were randomly assigned to 1 of 3 treatment groups. Three doses of FSH were administered: 100 mg (n = 16); 133 mg (n = 13), and 200 mg (n = 14). The treatments were initiated on random days of the estrous cycle. On Day 0, animals received 2 mg of estradiol benzoate i.m. (Estrogin®, Farmavet, Jaboticabal, Brazil) and an intravaginal device (CIDR; InterAg, Hamilton, New Zealand) with 1.9 g of progesterone. On Day 4, donors received FSH in 8 i.m. injections that decreased in dose during 4 consecutive days. A dose of 265 μg of cloprostenol (Ciosin®, Schering-Plough, Cotia, Brazil) was given i.m. concomitantly with the fifth FSH injection. Twelve hours after the last FSH injection, donors received 25 μg of lecirelin i.m. (GnRH; Gestran Plus®, ARSA SRL, Buenos Aires, Argentina). TheAI were performed 12 and 24 h after GnRH. Seven days after the first AI, embryos were recovered and classified as described in the IETS manual. Data were evaluated using KruskalWallis test at a 5% level of significance. Ovarian ultrasonography was also performed to count the number of CL present at the time of ova/embryo collection. Results are summarized in Table 1. The number of CL and total ova/embryos was higher in donors receiving 200 mg of FSH than in those in the other groups. However, the number of transferable or cryopreserved embryos did not differ among groups. In conclusion, the dosage of 200 mg of Folltropin®-V seemed to be the more adequate dosage for this breed of cattle. This study was conducted on 40 Samples of Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) after their diagnosis, The study aimed to identify the most important  hormonal disorders associated  with  this syndrome . The study begins from Octobar 2017 to March 2018 , the age from(19-45) years .Blood samples were taken during the (2-4( days of menstrual cycle and the selected samples were compared with 20 healthy women as control group ,and the following hormones were evaluated Luteninzing hormone (LH), Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Prolactin (PRL),Testosterone (Testo) and Oxytocin (OX) ,the study showed a high significant in the concentrations of OX ,Testo and LH (P≤0.01) , a high significant in the PRL concentration (P≤0.05) and a high significant in the FSH concentration (P≤0.05(,the results were distributed to three groups according to BMI ,age and treatment, in term BMI it was divided into three groups, BMI(18.5-24.9)(25.0-29.9) (≥30)kg/m2 the results showed a high significant (P≤0.05)  in the LH and OX concentration in  group BMI (18.5-24.9)kg/m2 and in both PRL and Testo in group BMI(≥30)kg/m2. in term age, it was divided into three groups (19-26) (27-35) (36-45)years, the results showed a high significant (P≤0.05) in LH  and Testo concentration at age group (36-45)years ,compared to other groups, and a high significant (P≤0.05) in both PRL and OX, between three group of age , treatment it was divided  into three groups of metformin, progesterone contraceptive used and non-used of the treatment .the results showed a high significant (P≤0.05) in LH, PRL, OX and Testo concentrations, and a high significant (P≤0.05) of FSH in women treated compared with non-used  .   http://dx.doi.org/10.25130/tjps.24.2019.085

Abstract. A total of 26 Brown Swiss cows were used to compare the synchronization and superovulatory response of follicle stimulating hormone treated cows that were synchronized with progesterone+oestradiol valerate or benzoate. Control cows (n = 8) were superstimulated with follicle stimulating hormone using twice daily injections with decreasing doses from day 10–13 after determined reference oestrus. Cows in treatment groups were received either ear implant (n = 9) containing norgestomet+oestradiol valerate or progesterone releasing intravaginal device (n = 9) containing progesterone+oestradiol benzoate, at random stage of the oestrus cycle, for 9 days. Seven days after the implant and progesterone releasing intravaginal device insertion, follicle stimulating hormone was injected as described in the control group. There was no significant difference between the groups for superovulation responses. In conclusion, both protocols synchronized the oestrus cycle in follicle stimulating hormone treated cows and, any of the protocols evaluated in this study can be used as a pretreatment for superstimulation started on the seventh day of the implant or progesterone releasing intravaginal device insertion in Brown Swiss cows.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome can affect fertility due to anovulatory cycles, luteal phase defects, hyperprolactinemia, and sex hormone imbalance, it remains untreated. The present study aims prevalence of polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) of clinical/subclinical infertile women, different age groups and to analyze the association between circulatory level of gonadotropins, luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone (LH and FSH) and prolactin (PRL) in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) women of different reproductive age and its impact on fertility of women. The hormonal reports for LH, FSH, and PRL of 100 female patients were analyzed. Women suffering from oligomenorrhea and amenorrhea are given priority in this study. These samples were categorized into five different age groups of 15–20 years, 21–25 years, 26–30 years, 31–35 years, and 36–40 years. Obtained hormonal data of LH, FSH, and PRL were pooled and the average was taken to compare with the normal range of hormone. A significant age-dependent variation observed in circulatory serum levels of gonadotropins (LH and FSH) and PRL. The study reveals that the highest PCOD patients were observed in the age group of 21–25 years. Whereas, 30% to 15–20 years, 60% to 21–25 years, 40% to 26–30 years, 30 % to 31–35 years, and 20 % to 36–40 years of reproductive age group. Most affected population of PCOS women ranges in between 21 and 25 age groups, whereas the 36–40 age group was least affected. Age-related alteration in the circulatory level of PRL (hyperprolactinemia) and pulsatility of LH and FSH can be considered as the important factor regulating neuronal mechanisms of hypophyseal gonadal and peripheral endocrine feedback.

Background: The objective of the study was to explore the correlation and discordance of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) in the selected population of premature ovarian insuffiency and diminished ovarian reserve.Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of the data obtained from the women who presented to the Gynae Endocrine Clinic of the Infertility unit of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology from 2015 to 2017. Discordance was defined as abnormal basal FSH (>10 IU/l) with assuring AMH (>1 ng/ml). Statistical analysis was done with SPSS version 23.Results: There were 36 women with premature ovarian insufficiency and 35 women with diminished ovarian reserve. The correlations between basal FSH and AMH are not significant. AMH values are relatively higher in younger age groups. There are extreme high outliers in both POI and DOR groups, more in younger age group. The discordance between AMH and basal FSH was more in women categorized to have diminished ovarian reserve, compared to women with premature ovarian insufficiency.Conclusions: Those women who are younger than 35 years and have high FSH combined with reassuring AMH should be counseled with care regarding the prognosis of their treatment.

ISSN 0804–4643 Melatonin, the hormone of the pineal gland, which in animal studies has been found to inhibit aging processes, is secreted in smaller amounts towards senescence. Menopause, an aging process in women, is known to be associated with typical changes in gonadotropin and sex steroid secretion. Our main objective was to study the possible role of melatonin in the hormonal regulation of menopause. This study focused on detailed changes in melatonin and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion cross-sectionally in pre- to postmenopausal females. Special attention was paid to females aged around 50 years, which is the mean menopausal age. Seventy-seven healthy female volunteers aged 30–75 years were the subjects of this study. Melatonin was measured radioimmunologically from nocturnal urine collected between 20.00 and 08.00 h, and FSH and melatonin from blood samples taken at 09.00 h. Nocturnal urinary excretion of melatonin was found to decline significantly from premenopause to postmenopause. The youngest premenopausal women (age group 30–39 years) excreted the highest amounts of melatonin (21.1 ± 2.2 pmol/h, mean±sem, N = 17). In the age group 40–44 years the excretion declined by 41% (p < 0.05). The second significant decline (35%, p < 0.05) took place between the age groups 50–54 years and 55–59 years. A declining trend as a function of age was also seen in morning serum melatonin. Serum FSH rose sharply to high levels before the age of 50 (p < 0.01) and remained at a high level thereafter. Urinary melatonin correlated negatively with serum FSH (r = −0.32. p < 0.05). In conclusion, the inverse changes in melatonin and FSH secretion during the perimenopausal years, with the sharpest decline in nocturnal excretion of melatonin far before menopause, suggest that melatonin may be permissively linked to the initiation of menopause. This paper examines the impact of zinc gluconate fed to male rabbits at different levels on their blood haematology and hormone (interstitial cell stimulating hormone (ICSH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). Thirty-two (32) male rabbits of about two (2) months old weighing averagely 1.050kg 0.032 were assigned to four treatment groups. The results were subjected to analysis of variance while means were separated with Duncan Multiple Range Test. There were significant (p<0.05) difference on the packed cell volume (PCV), haemoglobin level, white blood cell and neutrophils parameters measured. These differences did not take a definite pattern that could be attributed to effect of zinc on the rabbits like tumour or poor physiological status. The level of hormone also differed significantly (p<0.05) in the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) level. The FSH hormonal level increased as the level of zinc gluconate increase T2 (4.0x10-3) T3 (3.9x10-3) T4 (3.9x10-3).It could be concluded that using zinc as high as 100ppm and 150ppm has no detrimental effect on the blood haematology and general hormonal physiology of male rabbits.
