Teaching games for understanding in American high-school soccer: a quantitative data analysis using the game performance assessment instrument

This research was primarily conducted to prove that the application of Personal Photograph media could improve the writing skill of the twelfth grade students of SMA Swasta Pelita Nusantara Lawe Sigala-gala in the academic year of 2020/2021 and to describe their responses towards the application of Personal Photograph media in the processes of learning writing skill. Each cycle consisted of four meetings. The quantitative data analysis showed that the students mean score increased continually from 57,31 with 9% passing Minimum Mastery Criteria in pre-test, 71,81 with 36% Minimum Mastery Criteria in formative-test, 83,31 with 82% Minimum Mastery Criteriain post-test. The qualitative data analysis showed that the students’ responses after being taught through the application of Personal Photograph media are very good. The result is most of the students gave good responses to the Personal Photograph media which was used in learning teaching process. It is suggested that teachers use Personal Photograph media as an alternative in writing descriptive texts to the students in Senior High School in order to improve their students’ writing skill, particularly in writing descriptive texts.

This research was primarily conducted to prove that the application of Dictogloss technique could enhance the vocabulary mastery of the eleventh grade students of SMA Deli Murni Bandar Baru Bonaventura Class in the Academic Year of 2020/2021 and to describe their responses towards the application of Dictogloss technique in the process of learning vocabulary mastery. This research is Classroom Action Research which was perfomed in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four meetings. The quantitative data analysis showed that the students mean score increased continually from 44,16 in pre-test, 59,17 in formative test, and 70,83 in post-test. And the percentage of the students who passed the mastery minimum criteria from pre-test to post-test is 60,39%. The qualitative data analysis showed that the students responses after being taught by using Dictogloss technique. It can be seen from observation sheets and field notes; they felt more enthusiastic and motivated to learn vocabulary mastery after Dictogloss technique was applied. The questionnaire data also showed that students are agree with the application of using Dictogloss technique and found it effective in teaching vocabulary mastery. It is suggested that English teachers using Dictogloss technique as an alternative media in teaching vocabulary to the students in Senior High School in order to enhance their students’ vocabulary mastery.

This study dealt with the development of English Reading Materials of Senior High School in SMAN 10 Medan. The objectives of this study is to develop the English reading materials for students of SMAN 10 Medan which represent the characteristics of their sociocultural environment. The research was conducted at SMAN 10 Medan. The research procedures of this study were Research and Development (R & D) that were done through three phases: 1) evaluation and need analysis, 2) materials design, and 3) materials Validation. The instruments used in this research were a documentary sheet, questionnaire sheet, and interview sheet. The data from evaluation and need analysis were analyzed by using descriptive technique and the data from expert judgment results were analyzed using quantitative data analysis. The result of this study was a coursebook of local content-based reading materials which consist of 3 genres: recount genres, descriptive genres, and narrative genres, in which each genre consists of 2 texts complete with the tasks or exercises. Based on the experts� judgment results, the score was 87.06 which belonged to good category based on Dirgeyasa (2011), since the range is (70-89).

This study aims to determine the attitudes of students in physics learning at the State High School in Batanghari Regency. The type of research used is quantitative which uses a research design survey that is strengthened by the results of interviews to support the results of quantitative data. This study involved 926 students of the Batanghari State High School. The data used by researchers in the form of a questionnaire/questionnaire consisting of 54 item statements using a Likert scale 5. Quantitative data analysis using descriptive statistics. The results of this study the researchers get the results of Good and Good Enough with the following details: The Social Implications of Physics have a Good result, amounting to 51.3%. Attitudes in Physics Investigation have a sufficient result of 44.3%, Enjoyment Learning Physics has Enough results of 55.5%, Career Interest in Physics has Enough result of 45%. This is due to the attitude that is sufficient on the indicator. The adequate attitude of students is a balanced attitude in learning Physics Subjects because subjects are difficult to understand.

This study deals with the designing of English Speaking Materials By Using Digital Storytelling Project For The Eleventh Grade Students of Senior High School.  The objectives of this study are: (1) to know the English speaking materials needed by grade eleventh students of senior high school, (2) to design appropriate English speaking materials by using digital storytelling project for the eleventh grade students of senior high school. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Medan. The research procedures of this study is Research and Development (R&D) through three phases : 1) evaluation and need analysis, 2) course design, and 3) materials validation. The instruments used were questionnaire, interview and documentation sheet. The data from evaluation and need analysis were analyzed by using descriptive technique and the data from expert judgement results were using quantitative data analysis. The result of this study is a course book of speaking materials by using digital storytelling project which consist of title, objective, introduction, observing, practices and reflection. The materials consist of three units, they are What Is Your Opinion, How May I Help You? and You Are Loved. Based on the experts’ judgement result, the score was 3.97 which belongs to good category. Keywords: Digital Storytelling Project, Speaking Materials.

This research was a classroom action research that aim to increase the interest and learning  activities of economic lesson at the second grade of social science in Al-munawwaroh Senior High School Cilegon through implementation of snowball throwing method. This research was conducted in a collaborative and participatory in two cycles. Data collection in this research conducted with observation, questionaire and documentation. Data analysis performed was quantitative data analysis using percentage that conducted by describing the obtained quantitative data presented in the form of tables  then made conclusions. Based on the research concluded that implementation of snowball throwing could increase interest and learning activity of economic lesson. The evidences were showed by improving in indicator of interest in economic lesson and learning activity. In cycle one the average score was 69,46% and in cycle two was 80,78%; there were 11.32 % improvement. Score of  learning activity of economic lesson  in cycle one was 73,62% and in cycle two was 85,65%; the improvement of learning activity of economic lesson was 12,03%.

The purpose of this study was to determine the description of students' attitudes towards physics in Senior High School 8 Jambi City of Indonesia. This research is quantitative-qualitative research with survey research procedures. The subjects of this study were 170 students. The instruments used were questionnaires and interview sheets. Quantitative data analysis using descriptive statistics while qualitative data analysis using data analysis techniques model Miles and Huberman. The results of the 3 aspects of attitude indicators discussed in this study are on the indicator of normality of scientists as much as 60% are categorized quite good. While the attitude towards investigation in physics is 51% in the good category. Then in the indicator of interest in a career in the field of physics as much as 58% of students are categorized well.

This research is based on the existence of gaps in the Powerpoint learning media when used in complex material discussions. The development of instructional media has the aim to determine the feasibility , find out responses and learning outcomes of student on digital handout learning media based on androidThis research was conducted to 20 students of class XI in the 1st Senior High School Puri Mojokerto by collecting data using interviews, documentation, and questionnaires that were analyzed through qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The research model utilized 4D consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The outputs of research were Android-based digital handout learning media applications with the APK format. The validation results of Digital Handout media obtained proper conclusions with the details, i.e., material experts by 92.8%, media experts by 87.8%, evaluation experts by 84%, and question experts by 88%. Students resulted in the positive responses by 91.8% and induced an increase in learning outcomes, which relatively high, considering from an average Gain Score of 0.71 with the completeness of classical posttest amounting to 90%. Therefore, it can be concluded that based on the results, digital handout learning media can facilitate students' understanding through appropriate media with positif responsses and increase in learning outcomes.
