ABSTRACT Aedes aegypti is the main vector of dengue virus carriers. One alternative to deal with these problem is by using insecticides derived from the leaves of breadfruit (Artocarous altilis) with the method of liquid electric. The research was purely experimental, with a posttest-only control group design with six variations of extract concentration of 9%, 13%, 20%, 30%, 44%, and 66% with 3 repetitions. The result of Kruskal Wallis test showed that there was a difference of the average number of Aedes aegypti mosquito mortality on various concentration of breadfruit leaf extract, that indicated by significance or probability value of 0.008 <0.05. The deadliest concentration of breadfruit leaf was 66% concentration with mosquito mortality of 83.3% from all mosquito test. The probit analysis obtained LC50 at concentration of 17.850% and LC90 at concentration of 98.348%.   Keywords: Aedes aegypti, Breadfruit Leaf Extract, Liquid Electric   ABSTRAK Aedes aegypti merupakan nyamuk yang menjadi vektor utama pembawa virus dengue.

Indonesia is the country with the highest cases of dengue fever in Southeast Asia. The WHO estimates a 50–100 million dengue infections worldwide every year. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is transmitted through the bite of female Aedes mosquitoes infected with the Dengue virus. Mosquitoes Aedes aegypti is the main vector of the dengue virus. At the time, there is no cure for dengue so that the control efforts are focused on breaking the chain of life cycles. One effort to prevent the transmission of the dengue virus is to avoid vector mosquito bites. Repellent can reduce exposure to the bite of mosquitoes infected with the dengue virus. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the extract of citrus hystrix leaf as a repellent against the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This research is a laboratory experimental study with a one-shot case study design. In this study, the extract of citrus hystrix solution was made at a concentration of 10%, 20%, and 30%, and then the extract solution was used as a stock to make a 100-gram base lotion that would be used as a repellent. Repellent effectiveness is seen from the percentage of repellent protection power. The percentage of repellant protection used with the basic ingredients of Citrus hystrix leaf extract at concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30%, respectively, at 93.33% 94.67%, and 97.33%. The extract of citrus hystrix leaf was found to be effective as a repellent against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.

The purpose of this study was to demonstrate an alternative solution as an insecticide from Indonesian natural ingredients. We investigated the potential use of Artocarpus altilis park (known as kluwih plants in Indonesia) for an anti-mosquito repellent because it contains flavonoids and saponins. The use of this type of insecticide is harmless, inexpensive, and largely available in Indonesia. In the experiment, we extracted bark and leaves of kluwih to obtain insecticidal material to repel Anopheles sp. To ensure the precise extraction and insecticidial effect, the experiments were conducted four times with three repetitions. For each experiment, we used 8.4 mL with the concentrations of 20, 30, and 40% of flavonoid. The results showed that the higher the concentrations of bark and leaf extracts of Artocarpus altilis park the higher the mortality rate of Anopheles sp is.

Abstract Control of mosquito vectors by using natural ingredients is being developed intensively. Marigold (Tagetes erecta) was widely used as a mosquito repellent plant. The results of research before had found that marigold leaf extract has a repulsive effect on Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This study aimed to identify the potential of marigold leaf extract as larvacide against Ae. aegypti larvae in the laboratory. The material used in this research was extracts of marigold leaves. Larvacide test was carried out by dissolving of extract in water at the concentration of 2,000 ppm, 4,000 ppm, 6,000 ppm, 8,000 ppm, and 10,000 ppm. The larvae used was Ae. aegypti larvae as many as 25 larvae each five treatment of replications. Probit analysis was conducted on larval mortality after 24 hours of exposure. The results of the probit analysis showed that the estimated concentration of extracts that could result in larval mortality up to 95% (LC95) was 7,456 ppm. From the result we can conclude that ethanol extract of marigold leaves (T. erecta L. ) has the biolarvacidal activity against larvae.
