Abstract This article is devoted to the geometric representation of sets. The paper presents an implementation that allows using operations on sets to build any images. For this algorithm, the equations of first-and second-order lines on the plane and first-and second-order surfaces in space are used. Restrictions are introduced by setting segments on the coordinate axes, indicating whether lines or surfaces belong to these segments. Inequalities are used to create the shaded area of the drawings. In the course of research on this topic, a software tool was developed that allows you to model drawings using the entered formulas, build images based on a set of operations on given sets of points, which allows you to have an analytical description of the drawings. This software tool can be used both in the educational process to test the correctness of the assimilation of the material, and to create flat geometric shapes and three-dimensional bodies for the purpose of engineering the optimal forms of structures and various parts. This application allows the user, performing operations with mathematical expressions and inequalities, to get a graphical display of the result with a mathematical description of any part of the figure.

AbstractBiofilms are microbial communities that represent a highly abundant form of microbial life on Earth. Inside biofilms, phenotypic and genotypic variations occur in three-dimensional space and time; microscopy and quantitative image analysis are therefore crucial for elucidating their functions. Here, we present BiofilmQ—a comprehensive image cytometry software tool for the automated and high-throughput quantification, analysis and visualization of numerous biofilm-internal and whole-biofilm properties in three-dimensional space and time.

A full-fledged transformation is impossible without the use of new didactic approaches and without the creation of a qualitatively new educational and methodological support. This is due to the peculiarities of the modern student. Modern students were born and grew up in an information-saturated world and they are dominated by clip thinking, which is focused on processing information in short portions. Based on this, the problem of developing such training programs that would be aimed at independent work, based on game methods of presenting information, would take into account the psychophysiological features of perception, processing and storage of information by a modern person becomes urgent.To solve this problem, the authors analyzed the results of cognitive psychology research, conducted a self-analysis of the experience of developing and implementing three-dimensional interactive training programs in the educational process.The paper reveals the problems and disadvantages of traditional ways of presenting information. Examples of the implementation of interactive training applications are shown. The method of organizing a distributed distance learning system is presented.The conducted research allowed us to outline ways to modernize educational and methodological support by using interactive applications, mobile learning, resource allocation, introduction of modern digital solutions and creation of a comfortable educational environment.

The problem of steady laminar three-dimensional stagnation-point flow on a permeable stretching/shrinking sheet with second order slip flow model is studied numerically. Similarity transformation has been used to reduce the governing system of nonlinear partial differential equations into the system of ordinary (similarity) differential equations. The transformed equations are then solved numerically using the \texttt{bvp4c} function in MATLAB. Multiple solutions are found for a certain range of the governing parameters. The effects of the governing parameters on the skin friction coefficients and the velocity profiles are presented and discussed. It is found that the second order slip flow model is necessary to predict the flow characteristics accurately.

A lifting surface theory is developed for unsteady three-dimensional flow in rotating subsonic, transonic and supersonic annular cascades with fluctuating blade loadings. Application of a finite radial eigenfunction series approximation not only affords a clear insight into the three-dimensional structures of acoustic fields but also provides mathematical expressions advantageous to numerical work. The theory is applied to oscillating blades. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate three-dimensional effects on aerodynamic characteristics. Three-dimensional effects in supersonic cascades are generally small and strip theory predicts local aerodynamic forces as well as total aerodynamic forces with good accuracy. In transonic flow, however, the strip theory approximation breaks down near the sonic span station and three-dimensional effects are of primary importance.

ABSTRACT: Graphical displays of business and accounting information are widely used as decision aids. Theoretical work in visual perception indicates graphs that exhibit certain characteristics create visual illusions that may result in biased decision making. This paper reports the results of an experiment that demonstrates how such two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual illusions cause viewers to make biased comparison judgments. The experiment also shows that these decision biases can be mitigated by including gridlines in both two- and three-dimensional graphs.
