Recently, many tafsîr (interpretive) studies in Indonesia have been directed to the works of "children of the nation" in the local-regional level and Indonesian-language tafsîr. Most of Archipelago-nuanced tafsîr nowadays are used as research objects, from thesis level to dissertation. This article will use Tafsîr al-Azhâr Hamka as the object by emphasizing on the locality aspect by using surah Ali ‘Imrân as the sample. Locality can be included in the Adabî-Ijtima‘î style (social). Therefore, as a foundation methodology, the style will be firstly discussed in general. This study uses analytical descriptive by citing Karl Mannheim’s theory of Sociology. The result is that locality is found in Tafsir al-Azhâr in surah Ali ‘Imrân i.e. locality in language and socio-culture. This locality shows that Hamka is a mufasir (interpreter) who always contextualizes important themes inside a verse so that the meaning and message of the verse are easily understood and applied in the real community where Hamka lives in.

Those things that go under community music and people who call themselves community music practitioners and organisations, have got to remember all the community music that is happening anyway. But at this point in time I think that it is incredibly important to develop community music activities, to fuel the fire and create examples of what the possibilities are. The real community music will happen when that is generating spontaneously out of community. (Linsey Pollak, 28 January 1993)

The object of patriotism education is the people, who are the creators of the spirit of patriotism and constantly add new connotations to it. Historical activities are the activities of the masses, with the deepening of historical activities, it will be the expansion of the masses. Patriotism education is an important part of ideological and political education activities, and it is the stage that cannot be crossed to realize the real community.

Studies of community undertaken over a period of some forty-five years by the author and his colleagues are re-considered to show how the significance of ‘communities-in-the-mind’ has been inadequately appreciated. The distinction made by Clifford Geertz between ‘experience-near’ and ‘experience-distant’ is used to sharpen up certain assumptions and approaches of community sociologists, including Frankenberg. Some possible explanations for the decline in the perceived importance of comminity studies from the late 1960s are discussed in the context of the growing centrality of social class in sociological analysis in the 1970s and 1980s. Reference is made to recent research on personal communities by Liz Spencer and the author to illustrate how an ellision between ‘experience-near’ and ‘experience-distant’ approaches may be achieved. It is concluded that the imputed community-on-the-ground, often based on materialistic assumptions, should not be conceptually privileged over the real community-in-the-mind.

Recently with the increase in advanced age population, the osteoporosis becomes the object of public attention in the field of orthopedics. The surface topography of the bone by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is one of the most useful means to study the bone metabolism, that is considered to make clear the mechanism of the osteoporosis. Until today many specimen preparation methods for SEM have been reported. They are roughly classified into two; the anorganic preparation and the simple preparation. The former is suitable for observing mineralization, but has the demerit that the real surface of the bone can not be observed and, moreover, the samples prepared by this method are extremely fragile especially in the case of osteoporosis. On the other hand, the latter has the merit that the real information of the bone surface can be obtained, though it is difficult to recognize the functional situation of the bone.

Purpose The aims of this study were to characterize hearing symptoms, habits, and sound pressure levels (SPLs) of personal audio system (PAS) used by young adults; estimate the risk of developing hearing loss and assess whether instructions given to users led to behavioral changes; and propose recommendations for PAS users. Method A cross-sectional study was performed in 50 subjects with normal hearing. Procedures included questionnaire and measurement of PAS SPLs (real ear and manikin) through the users' own headphones and devices while they listened to four songs. After 1 year, 30 subjects answered questions about their usage habits. For the statistical analysis, one-way analysis of variance, Tukey's post hoc test, Lin and Spearman coefficients, the chi-square test, and logistic regression were used. Results Most subjects listened to music every day, usually in noisy environments. Sixty percent of the subjects reported hearing symptoms after using a PAS. Substantial variability in the equivalent music listening level (Leq) was noted ( M = 84.7 dBA; min = 65.1 dBA, max = 97.5 dBA). A significant difference was found only in the 4-kHz band when comparing the real-ear and manikin techniques. Based on the Leq, 38% of the individuals exceeded the maximum daily time allowance. Comparison of the subjects according to the maximum allowed daily exposure time revealed a higher number of hearing complaints from people with greater exposure. After 1 year, 43% of the subjects reduced their usage time, and 70% reduced the volume. A volume not exceeding 80% was recommended, and at this volume, the maximum usage time should be 160 min. Conclusions The habit of listening to music at high intensities on a daily basis seems to cause hearing symptoms, even in individuals with normal hearing. The real-ear and manikin techniques produced similar results. Providing instructions on this topic combined with measuring PAS SPLs may be an appropriate strategy for raising the awareness of people who are at risk.
