Abstract This presentation will explore the development of AGHE’s major contemporary contribution: AGHE’s basic-competency guidelines and their role in program review and program enhancement. The presenter will describe in detail the steps in creating objective student learning outcomes and will explore how meeting these competencies improve instruction, self-reflection, program analysis and faculty discussion and ultimately gerontology programs. These guidelines and policies embody a living entity that is always evolving. Future iterations will be anticipated and discussed. Part of a symposium sponsored by the Geriatric Education Interest Group.

Internet-based interactive media can support the success of learning in a classroom.  This study aims to observe the role of blogs as interactive media to improve student learning outcomes. The research used a quasi-experimental method, the independent variable is the use of the teacher's blog and the dependent variable is student learning outcomes. The role of Teacher’s blog is observed on the material of object classification and temperature change. The subjects of this study were students of class VII A and VII E of Xaverius I Middle School in Jambi City. Quantitative data derived from the value of worksheets and written tests after one basic competency cycle is implemented. Data were processed with simple statistics, namely calculating the average value of two basic competencies. The calculated percentage indicates the difference between the average value in the class that does not use the teacher's blog and the class that uses the teacher's blog. The percentage results were analyzed qualitatively referring to theories and results of the previous relevant research. The results of this study indicate an increase of average grade from 75 to 80. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the use of teacher blogs as interactive media is very effective in improving learning outcomes.

Basic Competency in Vocational subjects in Mechanical Engineering, vocational students have always faced the problems associated with engineering science to be done to establish the expected curriculum vocational competence. One solution that is considered suitable to solve the problem is the application of problem based learning, problem-solving method based discussion group. With the implementation of the model is expected to improve learning outcomes and student activities. The research method is a method of Classroom Action Research. The results showed that the application of problem based learning-based discussion group can improve student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain of the N-Gain 0.71 in the high category. The average value of 82.12 in the affective domain of the positive category and the average value of 90.9 in the psychomotor domain of very good category, while the average value of student activities at the low category.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of problem-based learning to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Basic Competencies for Maintaining Brake Systems at SMK Negeri 2 Kupang. This study used a 2x2 factorial research design with experimental methods with a quantitative approach, consisting of two classes: the experimental and control classes. The control class is taught using a direct learning model, and the experimental class is taught using a problem-based learning model. The research sample was 70 students, 36 students from TKR 2 class (experiment class), and 34 students from class XI TKR 3 (control class). The instrument used consisted of a questionnaire of analytical skills, a test of learning outcomes in the cognitive domain, affective domain, and psychomotor domain. This study's results indicate that (1) student learning outcomes using problem-based learning models are significantly higher than learning outcomes for students who use the direct learning model; (2)  the learning outcomes of students who have high analytical skills are significantly higher than the learning outcomes of students who have low analytical skills; and (3) there is an interaction between the use of problem-based learning models and direct learning models on learning outcomes in the basic competency subject of the brake system at SMKN 2 Kupang.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the integrated science learning type connected to achieving basic competencies and improving science process skills. This study uses a 4-D development model that is defined, design, develop, and disseminate with one-group posttest design implemented in 5th-semester students of Chemistry Education, University of Bengkulu. The research instrument is a posttest question to measure learning outcomes and observation sheets to measure science process skills. The teaching materials used are sourced from part of the process and the results of the activity test of palm oil endophytic bacteria ethyl acetate extract against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. by TLC-bioautography is packaged in the form of learning videos. The results showed that the Integrated Science type of Connected model was used effectively to improve student learning outcomes and science process skills.

The background of this research was carried out because of the low activeness and learning outcomes of students in class III about the measurement of long units motivating the activeness and student learning outcomes of mathematics in Basic Competencies Using Measuring Tools in Problem Solving. This research is a Classroom Action Research with the subjects of third grade students of SD Negeri 1 Karanganyar with a total of 19 students. Data sources come from documents, students, and peers. Data collection techniques with test and non-test. The research process was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 meetings each meeting 2 lesson hours. To measure the ability of students in mastering the material that has been given, each end of the cycle carried out an evaluation. The results obtained from the data there is an increase in learning outcomes seen from the initial study before the action and after the action. The data about the learning outcomes obtained are as follows: the average grade of the class in the initial study was 53 with 21% mastery learning; the average value of cycle 1 is 61 with a 42% mastery learning; the average value of the second cycle is 72.5 with 95% mastery learning. It can be concluded that the use of the ladder playing method can increase the activeness and learning outcomes of students, especially the Long Unit Measurement material.

These classroom action research aims: To improve student learning outcomes using Powtakon kardus media. The research setting was grade V students of SDN 2 Kembang Jepara for the 2019/2020 academic year. This study consisted of 2 cycles in one basic competency. The research begins with compiling a lesson plan, making observation sheets and other research instruments. During the learning process, observations were made on the performance of the teacher as a researcher, and an assessment was made of students through test sheets. Other findings during the learning process were discussed between the researcher and the observer, equipped with data from observations made by reflection at each meeting. The results of research in cycle 1 and cycle 2 showed an increase in student learning outcomes. The student learning outcomes are in cycle 1 an average of 66.33 with learning completeness 40%, in cycle 2 an average of 81.27 with learning completeness 86.67%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning process using powtakon kardus media can improve student learning outcomes in Class V SDN 2 Kembang Jepara for the 2019/2020 academic year.

This research is a classroom action research using a qualitative description analysis that aims to determine whether there is an influence of the application of the CIRC type cooperative learning model in an effort to improve student learning outcomes. The subjects in this study were students of class VII-3, SMPN 9 Sorong whose average learning achievement was lower than other class VII, with a total of 26 students. The procedure of the study was to choose a learning model that was assessed according to the material presented. The PTK procedure consists of 2 cycles with 3 meetings per cycle, according to the level of the problem to be solved and the conditions to be improved. Each cycle consists of four stages as follows: 1) planning; 2) implementing actions; 3) observation and evaluation of actions; and 4) reflection of actions. Data in this study were collected through observation and tests to find out the extent of students' mastery learning towards the material delivered using the CIRC type of cooperative learning model. The results of the study show that: (1) In using the CIRC type of cooperative learning model the teacher must also pay attention to the importance of classroom management. This is for the sake of the smooth learning process; (2) The average score of students' understanding in paying attention to problems about determining the main ideas and problems in arlikel through intense reading activities, in the first cycle of 54.8, in the second cycle increased by 69.2, while in the third cycle increased by 83, 5 is quite good. Likewise, the completion of learning in cycle I by 57.6% increased in cycle III to 65.3% and also increased in cycle III to 100%; (3) CIRC type of cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes and can improve students' ability to solve problems regarding basic competencies in understanding explanatory text through oral and written on Indonesian subjects in VII grade students of SMPN 9 Sorong.

     This research is a Classroom Action Research which consists of two cycles where each cycle consists of four stages, namely the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Please note that each cycle consists of 3 meetings.     The background of this research is the low achievement of KKM in each of the Basic Competencies (K.D), especially in Indonesian language subjects.     This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Indonesian language class I students by optimizing the use of image media. The research subjects were first grade students of SD Negeri 20 Cakranegara first semester 2017/2018 Academic Year with a total of 47 students. Data is obtained through observation during the learning process takes place, giving group assignments and the results of discussions and tests of student learning outcomes given at the end of each cycle. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative in the form of averages and the percentage of improvement in learning outcomes. The results of the analysis show an increase in the achievement of student KKM scores each cycle. From the results of student learning tests in the first cycle, data obtained that the achievement of student learning completeness reached 66.67%, and in the second cycle increased to 86.96%. The results of the study showed that optimizing the use of image media can improve the achievement of KKM Indonesian language subjects in class I Cakranegara State Elementary School 20
