Evaluation plays a significant part in the instruction and learning. In the course of education’sdevelopment, a great number of evaluation methods have already been proposed by scholars. However, most of them always focus on the whole evaluation system or those researches are only suitable for the majority of students. And studies relevant to the evaluation method of the under achievers in the foreign language learning are very little. This paper is to overview evaluation of language learning and study the evaluation which is academically and psychologically beneficial to under achievers’ College E nglish learning.

Studies on gender differences in mobile English learning are in their initial stages. College English IV, designed by a number of professors and engineers in a university in China, serves as a mobile English learning platform. This study aims to determine gender differences in cognitive loads, attitudes, and academic achievements in English language learning assisted with this mobile English learning platform. Through a mixed research design, 79 randomly selected participants join the research, together with interviews and posts to collect qualitative data. Cognitive loads, attitudes, and academic achievements are measured through related scales to collect quantitative data. It is concluded that there are significant gender differences in cognitive loads, attitudes, and academic achievements in English language learning assisted with the mobile learning platform. Future research on gender differences in mobile English learning should also examine relationships between gender differences, learner motivation, achievement goals, and learning outcomes.

Abstract Corpus linguistics is one of the branches of modern linguistics. It is also a cutting-edge research problem of modern linguistics spawned by the background of the information technology era. Corpus linguistics can reset the teaching role of English majors. College English vocabulary teaching makes use of the corpus’s abundant real language materials and the computer’s ability to analyze and process large-scale corpus, guide students to explore the usage of vocabulary in the context, and use the corpus to deepen students’ autonomous learning. This article will start with the development of corpus linguistics, explain the necessity of combining corpus and English language teaching, and propose a corpus linguistics-based English language learning platform system in colleges and universities, and combine with semantic recommendation algorithms to verify that the system is in English learning.

With the acceleration of global integration, the demand for English instruction is increasingly rising. On the other hand, Chinese English learners struggle to learn spoken English due to the limited English learning environment and teaching conditions in China. The advancement of artificial intelligence technology and the advancement of language teaching and learning techniques have ushered in a new era of language learning and teaching. Deep learning technology makes it possible to solve this problem. Speech recognition and assessment technology are at the heart of language learning, and speech recognition technology is the foundation. Because of the complex changes in speech pronunciation, a large amount of speech signal data, the high dimension of speech characteristic parameters, and a large amount of speech recognition and evaluation computation, the large volume of speech signal processing requires higher requirements of hardware and software resources and algorithms. However, traditional speech recognition algorithms, such as dynamic time-warped algorithms, hidden Markov models, and artificial neural networks, have their advantages and disadvantages. They have encountered unprecedented bottlenecks, so it is difficult to improve their accuracy and speed. To solve these problems, this paper focuses on evaluating the multimedia teaching effect of college English. A multilevel residual convolutional neural network algorithm for oral English pronunciation recognition is proposed based on a deep convolutional neural network. The experiments show that our algorithm can assist learners in identifying inconsistencies between their pronunciation and standard pronunciation and correcting pronunciation errors, resulting in improved oral English learning performance.

Artificial intelligence speech recognition mostly judges the accuracy of grammar or sentence in the detection of pronunciation error, but has little research on pronunciation judgment, so it cannot effectively correct the pronunciation. This study analyzes the application of image target recognition in English learning task. Task-based approach emphasizes the process of English learning, not the result, the purposeful communication and meaning expression, encourages learners to open their mouths, and emphasizes that English language learning activities and their tasks are realistic in life. In addition, this paper introduces the DNN adaptive technique based on KL divergence regularization to adapt the acoustic model. Finally, this paper uses the experimental contrast method to compare and analyze the algorithm of this research with the traditional algorithm. The research shows that the recognition ability of the algorithm for confusing phonemes is improved than that of traditional algorithms, and this conclusion provides a powerful result for the introduction of error correction algorithms into education networks. By using the platform of autonomous learning center, students can improve their English level by completing the tasks chosen by teachers or by themselves and through training.

With the help of big data and Citespace software, this research makes a statistical analysis of the journals and dissertations on College English teaching and learning materials collected by CNKI from 2011 to 2020. This paper, based on the knowledge map drawn by the visualized analysis of literatures volume, authors, research institutions and keywords clustering, analyzes the current research status and hotspots in the compilation of China’s College English textbooks. It is found that there are six problems in the compilation. Because of the complexity of teaching and learning materials and the dynamic progress of language learning, the nature of English teaching and learning materials is bound to turn from a learning tool to learning resources. Thus, this research, from the perspective of Complex Dynamic System Theory, attempts to develop big data-based College English learning materials with digital, individual and multi-dimensional characteristics by three paths: the establishment of big data-based English learning behaviors index system, the development of big data-based College English learning materials and the application of big data-based College English learning materials. This paper will explore a new way of developing China’s College English learning materials, improve and optimize the compilation and development of College English learning materials in China.

The change of social demand for English application-oriented talents has affected the transformation of the way of cultivating talents in College English. The traditional training mode of indoctrination has exposed more and more disadvantages, and the demand of new teaching mode is imminent. This paper first analyzes the current situation of College English learning platform in China. Then, it discusses the design and implementation of “Online + offline” College English learning platform based on Web. The overall structure and function of the database are designed in detail. The teaching platform provides students with learning tools, learning resources, communication platform, testing and evaluation functions, and can evaluate students’ learning behavior, learning process and learning effect. This paper traces and collects a large amount of data left by learners in learning college English courses, and analyzes learners’ learning habits, learning progress and learning effect. Finally, according to the learning big data, this paper customized a reasonable personalized learning platform and improved the online teaching personalized service system.
