With the economic development in our country, there are more and more international exchanges and communications. Hence, the ability to read, write, and communicate in English is essential and very necessary. In traditional English classroom teaching, teachers are the disseminators of knowledge, whereas students only receive knowledge passively. Due to the limitation of teaching hours and the lack of teaching approaches, it is necessary to make up for the insufficiency in the teaching activities through computer technology and multimedia technology. Abundant teaching approaches can cultivate the independent inquiry ability of students, and the establishment of such an English learning platform is conducive to improving the students’ ability to make full use of the information technology. Through teaching and learning, the students can become the main entity in the English teaching, which can stimulate their enthusiasm and form a good awareness for English learning. In this paper, the radial basis function (hereinafter referred to as RBF for short) algorithm is adopted. Combined with the constructive English teaching method, practical design and construction are carried out by analyzing the concepts, principles, and application strategies of smart classroom teaching in the multimedia background. The practice has proved that the method proposed in this paper is effective and has certain research value and positive significance for the research on English teaching.

Immersive teaching has achieved remarkable results in bilingual learning. This teaching method creates an immersive environment for learners to understand and use languages. This paper explores the influence of immersive teaching on the learning performance, interest, and satisfaction of Chinese English learners, and provides several suggestions on how to apply immersive teaching. The results show that immersive teaching improves the listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities of students. One semester of immersive teaching improved the scores of listening, reading, speaking, and writing by 6.53%, 6.85%, 5%, and 4.73%, respectively; while two semesters of immersive teaching improved them by 12.46%, 16.03%, 13.55%, and 9.92%, respectively. Thanks to immersive teaching, the students’ interest in English learning soared, and their satisfaction with English learning surpassed 50%. This research lays a theoretical basis for promoting immersive teaching, and improving students’ English learning effect.

INTRODUCTION: In the context of the current public health emergency, an adequate adjustment imposed a transition from a conservative approach to medical education to online teaching and interaction. E-learning also brought advantages to the students, which were assessed in this survey in order to learn how to keep and benefit from them in the future. METHODS: the data was collected through a questionnaire which included general data (gender, year of study) and the self-perceived progress. Specific questions addressed the quality of the teacher-student communication, or the advantages e-learning offered, while the platform's functionalities were analyzed through a five-point scale. RESULTS: Among the 536 respondents, 99.81% mentioned at least one feature used specifically in the online training that would be valuable to retain in the future. Students perceiving progress better than expected had a higher appreciation of the e-learning tools. Gender differences in opinion were only correlated with the standardization of the studying process. While time management was accepted as a main advantage, 25% of the participants considered the overall communication better than before. A major disapproval regarding online communication was encountered in years 3, 4, and 5, while the desire to continue the communication through the existing platform was the highest in the first and last year of study. CONCLUSION: Even in a blended learning process, the digital delivery of medical training needs further improvement and adaptation in order to align with the fast-developing society and its expectations.

The constructive English learning approach provides better technical support and learning concepts for English learners. This paper firstly introduces the theoretical basis of constructive English learning and the status of domestic and international research and analyzes the advantages over the traditional English learning approach. This paper also analyzes the RBF neural network model, especially the locally adjusted RBF algorithm, and considers the training model and construction method of the RBF neural network to simulate the learning pattern of good learners of English in grades 4 and 6 to better realize the effect of the English learning platform and allow the English learning platform to play a supportive role in the learning process of students, and through the evaluation of the design, we can better improve the software design, which can be improved by evaluating the design. In the subsequent research, we should add a more user-friendly interface design, use larger model samples to train the model to make it more universal in accuracy and ensure good stability in operation, and integrate multiple algorithms to improve the training algorithm of RBF neural network to obtain a more general algorithm model. The rich teaching methods can cultivate students’ independent inquiry ability, and the construction of this English learning platform can help improve students’ ability to use information technology. By making students become the main subject of teaching and learning, we can stimulate students’ enthusiasm and a good awareness of English learning. Using the radial basis function (RBF) algorithm and the constructive pod language teaching method, this English learning platform is a good and positive aid for students to learn English, and as a better English education tool, it has certain research value and positive significance for the study of English teaching.

Under the development of the information age, traditional Chinese teaching model of college English reading courses can no longer meet the needs of the times, and needs to be reformed urgently. From the perspective of mobile learning, this paper tries to combine modern educational technology with classroom teaching by using an online English reading learning platform, and explores the construction of a new teaching model. This model tries to form effective teaching supervision and assessment through the combination of online and offline teaching model, in-class and after-class teaching model, as well as real-time and dynamic big data monitoring, which breaks the closed classroom teaching environment, enriches the teaching content and means, complements and improves the teaching method of traditional Chinese college English reading courses. The aim of this study is to enrich teaching content, reform traditional teaching model and construct a new teaching model for English reading courses through the teaching practice of the online English reading platform, and further optimize the use of the platform by collecting and analyzing effective assessment and feedback, so as to make full use of the online reading platform and improve the mobile reading teaching model.

Abstract Background: To analyze the online course efficiency of a combined mode of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) micro-video and E-learning platform in Nanjing Medical University during the COVID-19 epidemic. Methods: We developed a new questionnaire to assess the efficiency of online teaching of medical statistics in Nanjing Medical University. This investigation enrolled students participating in the online course of medical statistics from January 2020 to June 2020. The “Questionnaire Star” electronic questionnaire collection system was used to collect data. Results: In total, 1050 of the 1210 (86.78%) students completed the questionnaire, including 971 (92.48%) juniors. To be specific, 57.33% of the students majored in clinical medicine, 15.14% in pharmacy, 10.38% in pediatrics, 8.00% in medical imageology, and 6.29% in basic medicine. As to the question "Are you satisfied with the current online teaching method?", 354 (32.77%) students responded with "Agree" and "Strongly Agree", and 1012 (96.47%) thought they needed to consolidate what they had learned after returning to school. Most students reported their "Difficulties in the learning process" by "Learning motivation" and "Personal inertia" (59.90% and 58.29%, respectively). Conclusions: The online course of medical statistics was favored by most students, suggesting its efficiency an efficient alternative to classroom study during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet there were still some problems, such as inconvenient communication between teachers and students, poor mastery of key knowledge, which should be resolved in classroom teaching at school.

<p class="AbstractText">The unexpected shift of English language teaching from face-to-face classroom interaction to online learning activities using digital platforms has resulted in a number of challenges for English teachers and students. Hence, examining the teachers’ challenges and their insights of the online learning activities is highly required. The present study sheds some light on university EFL teachers’ challenges and insights of online learning activities amidst global pandemic. Drawing on the data collected using self-written reflections and semi-structured interviews from 17 Indonesian EFL teachers, the results revealed that the absence of an e-learning platform, lack of students’ motivation and engagement, and time consuming to prepare online learning materials became the primary challenges of the teachers. The results further portrayed that developing a representative digital platform, designing online learning materials, and improving the quality of teaching method were several valuable insights from the teachers. The results of this study contribute to providing fruitful advices for English teachers, students, and school authorities to enhance the efficacy of online teaching and learning activities, particularly during the global pandemic.</p>
